"Why do you care so much about me?" I whispered into his shirt and he froze, I heard him let out a sad sigh.

"Because there's someone that loves you very much, that I promised I'd take care of you for..."

"Somebody that loves me...?"

"Yeah. He loves you more than anyone."

I wanted to cry again. It felt like I was supposed to know who he was, but I couldn't remember at all. It was the same with Theo... I wanted to believe in my heart that I had someone I could trust but I really didn't know. I was afraid that I was hoping for a truth that didn't exist. My heart ached so much for it but my head was telling me that I'd only get hurt again.

"Does Theo love me?"

He shifted and it went quiet for a while, it seemed like he was hesitating to answer.

"I do."

Something told me that he didn't mean the same kind of love that he was talking about before, but still it made me a little happy to hear. I wanted to remember everything, not just the pain I went through, but the good things too.
