《Eris, the Alpha of silence.》Chapter 22

In Azazion's office, stood his soulmate, Kondra, another powerful dragon.
Eris and Ezra bowed their head slightly towards her, before entering, out of respect, they were in her kingdom after all.
"Please, do leave the pleasantries at the door before you walk in, come here Eris dear." Her voice smooth like butter with a slight hiss to it.
Kondra engulfed Eris in a tight hug before holding her at arms length, inspecting her form, she did look better since the last time she saw her. She turned her head towards Ezra and motioned for him to join the hug and he was about to, before a loud snarl was heard, he turned and sighed.
"Okay Azazion, had I known you were jealous, I wouldn't have ever tried hugging her, come here you teddy bear, if you wanted me all you had to do was ask." Eris was confused for a few seconds but then she saw Ezra running towards Azazion and picking him up for a hug like he was his long lost love.
Their interaction was amusing but still not enough to make her feel the emotion fully.
"Azazion why didn't you tell me, I would've understood you, I wouldn't even be jealous that you were into men." Kondra's voice was heavy with amusement.
She knew the relationship between Ezra and her soulmate was beautiful, every time he came over, he would push all of her loves buttons until he would get kicked out.
The playful side of the Vampire never ceased to amaze her.
Azazion muttered something under his breath before squeezing the Vampire leaving him breathless.
Eris shook her head before turning back to Kondra and pulling out a note from her pocket before handing it to her.
"What is this-, oh" Kondra's eyes turned glassy which made Azazion run to her, wrapping his arm around her waist, he watched over her shoulder what was written in the note before shuddering.
"No, Eris, you can't do this." The words bringing Kondra out of her thoughts. She turned towards her husband before shaking her head.
"Aza, my soul. It is obvious she has no other option. You know first hand how much she doesn't want to do this but does she really have a choice?" The Queen's voice cracked, the heartbreaking feeling of what was to come settling in.
The three of them watched Eris, her cold expression and her unmoving eyes. The tension in her body could be felt all around the room and they couldn't stand it.

They were thinking of ways to solve the problem without Eris needing to give up and become what she hated but they couldn't find any real one.
There was a difference between the fantasy outcome they all wanted and the reality, which was inevitable.
With trembling hands and shaking knees they walked towards Eris, hugging their friend for one last time.
"We fully support you, Alpha Eris." With a hand holding her close and the other on their hearts, they pledged their and their kingdoms loyalty to her with a sacred, unbreakable promise.
And with a slight nod of her head, Eris accepted it before untangling herself from them and walking towards the exit, where she stood, waiting for them to join her.
Ezra was the first one to follow her out, putting a hand on her shoulder while the other turned her around.
"Love, I know you will succeed but please, do not once forget about your humanity for it is one of the most important aspect in not losing yourself."
Eris didn't respond, she just stood there and watched him.
His hand on her shoulder bringing her some type of comfort she disliked and didn't feel worthy of.
He opened his mouth once more to say something but before he could, Azazion spoke.
"Let us go to the entrance of the castle so I can shift and take you both back to your respective homes."
They both nodded and followed him while glancing at the beautifully decorated palace the dragons had.
It was clear to anyone entering how proud they were of themselves and their achievements while the palace was decorated with crystal chandeliers, mahogany chairs and tables, carpets made out of the softest skin there is, they still remained humble. Which was rare in the world they lived in.
Once he saw the shifted dragon, Ezra helped Eris once more climb on its back before joining her, his strong arms snaking around her waist, pulling her closer.
Her lack of reaction to what he was doing only encouraged him to push it a little bit further by moving her hair softly around her neck until it was all on one side and bending to place a lingering kiss on the spot where it met her shoulder.
He found this position extremely relaxing, feeling satisfied by holding her close, more so that she allowed it.

The ride was silent, it was quite obvious the dragon would take them all the way to Eris's grounds, cutting their long walk back.
Ezra wanted to ask her again, but this time he wanted her to understand that he knew.
He knew she felt the bond between them, the bond of a soulmate for her and the bond of a beloved for him.
What he couldn't understand was why she was denying it, why was she denying the only beautiful thing this world has ever offered her.
He used to think it was because of the fact that he wasn't enough for her, that maybe she didn't want to deal with rejecting him but with time, he realized it was much more than that, he just couldn't figure out what.
Lost in her thoughts, Eris didn't mind him holding onto her the way he was, she didn't understand how affection worked, her mind was a jumbled mess, her thoughts running wild with everything happening and her heat beating at an unnatural level, she didn't understand any of it, she didn't understand why were her palms sweaty, why were her legs soft, why was she leaning towards him.
Azazion saw Eris's pack and enclosed his wings around his body before dropping down thousands of meters per second, the feeling bringing his dragon extreme excitement, that was his favorite part about flying, the landing, ironically so.
With a loud roar for all to hear, he descended, his claws digging into the ground of his landing, his wings spreading fully, allowing everyone around to witness the magnificent Dragon King in all his glory.
It wasn't an act of cockiness, it was purely something he felt like doing.
Once again, Ezra unwrapped himself from Eris before jumping down and helping her down which annoyed her greatly, she was strong enough to do it herself yet she allowed him to help her which once again, was hard to understand.
"Thank you, King Azazion, we shall meet soon." Ezra's voice reached all the attentive ears which made everyone bow down to the king of the dragons lair.
Eris walked towards the dragons front and motioned for him to lower himself, the dragons pointed tail straightened before lowering itself enough for her to reach its forehead.
In gratitude for everything they have done for her, Eris put her forehead to his, thanking him in their language which was greatly appreciated by them.
Azazion nodded slowly, bowing his whole body towards Eris before taking of in one strong jump.
Eris turned towards Ezra and motioned for him to follow her. The quietness unnerving everyone.
Once in her office, Eris sat down on her chair before motioning for Ezra to do the same but he didn't listen, he opted for another option which she hasn't presented him. He walked towards her side of the desk, the same way she did when she was in the Wizards office, she noticed.
With her head tilted, a question lingering in her eyes and an agitated King in front of her, Eris found herself in a quite comical situation.
"Love, may I ask you a question?" His deep baritone voice held adoration which made her uncomfortable yet she still nodded.
"Why do you deny our bond, deny me as your soulmate and yourself as my beloved?" That struck a nerve in Eris.
She didn't answer, contemplating her decision.
"Do you not want to be cherished? Treasured? Loved?" With each spoken word, he moved closer to her, his minty breath already fanning her face.
Yet she still refused to answer.
"I see."
"I have told you before, my queen, and I am telling you again. I will wait for as long as it's needed but I still hold onto my request. Please do not make me wait much longer." His voice turned sad while it still held the adoration for his one and only.
"The last Kingdom on your list is mine, and seeing as I am already here, I accept your request and pledge my loyalty and support to your once and forever today, here.
I will help you." He went down on one knee, slit his palm and with Eris's approval, hers as well before joining their hands together, imprinting the promise in themselves forever.
His intense gaze moved to hers and he moved his unharmed hand, cupping her face, he bent her head to an angle before sealing it all with a kiss on her inviting lips.
Moving backwards, he nodded before disappearing.
Leaving Eris with her thoughts once again.
