Valarie after fighting her way through dozens of men found Agent Michaels.
Agent Michaels: “Valarie a pleasure to see you”
Valarie only responded with a smile before opening his cell and freeing him. The moment she was done the men began closing in n their direction, Agent Michaels pulled out the gun Valarie had handed him and began firing at them.
Valarie also rushed the others, relying solely on her martial arts she closed the distance before they could fire. She grabbed the gun from one of their hands and using the wall performed a wall flip into their midst. The men seeing they couldn’t fire recklessly abandoned their guns in favor of their fists.
Valarie seeing just smirked before weaving through them with such grace one would consider nothing short of an artistic dance. Grasping the arms of one the men she used him as a shield block a few attacks before jumping over him and retaliating with a flurry of attack taking them out in seconds before turning around and snapping the guy’s neck.
The others seeing this pulled out knives but it was useless as their blades were soon embedded in one another, as her last guy fell Agent Michaels had finished with his side as well. Agent Michaels smiled and nodded at Valarie which made her give him a really. Valarie turned prepared to continue her way through the hall to find Elise and Rose but Agent Michaels stopped.
Agent Michaels: “wait, you were unconscious when we brought in but I wasn’t. This place holds more than just us and I am pretty sure those people would like a piece of the action.”
Valarie’s eyes widened hearing the news before nodding and following after Agent Michaels. They made their way through the halls combatting another group of me and at this point Valarie understood if they couldn’t get reinforcements pretty soon, they would be overcome by the seemingly endless number of soldiers.

They soon arrived in a hallway full of cells, they shared a look before pulling a small back rectangular card and pressed a button with that there was a buzz and all the gates before opened. Valarie heart beat sped up as she was waiting before soon people who seemed to be of all ages stepped out all in a white jumpsuit with a number printed on their backs, the most eye-catching thing about them being the collars on their necks.
The people looked around until finally all of them had their eyes trained on both Valarie and Agent Michaels. Agent Michaels went straight to the point
Agent Michaels: “we’re breaking you out”
Valarie pressed another button and with a beeping sound all the collars opened and fell to the ground with thuds. The people in white’s all began to glow revealing their identities as Demi-Humans.
In the control room one the men monitoring the screens broke out in cold sweat.
Man: “sir, we have a problem”
Professor: “what now? How hard is it to take down two agents and one Demi-Human?”
Man: “sir, its more than one Demi-Human… the agents broke out all the Demi-Humans in the containment wing sir. What do we do now sir?”
The professor paid the man no heed and headed out the control room.

With Eric, Eric with his claws was an unstoppable killing machine cutting through the men as though they were paper. Their guns were useless, cuts healed in mere seconds and to trade fists with him, that must be the funniest joke ever as they all knew there was nothing they could do but scream before they crossed over to the land of the dead.
Eric stood amongst the corpses his outfit dyed red with blood, eyes glowing a bright amber and his face taking on wolfish features and his black claws dripping red with blood, his image at that moment was the stuff of nightmares. The soldiers who originally wanted to rush him came to a halt as they began shaking in fear.

Eric locked eyes with them and those eyes, those bright amber eyes that seemed to stare straight into their soul caused their minds to go blank. *ROOOAAARRR* Eric released a roar that shocked them back to their senses but before they could take a shot Eric jumped into their midst. His claws liberated one’s head from his body before he grabbed and sent into another’s gut with such force, they were sent flying.
Eric went through them like a wild animal, relying solely on his instincts he ripped them apart. Eric stepped into another finally seeing Elise and Rose he smiled as he retracted his beastly features and came before them, seeing him they both broke in tears of joy.
Eric: “I’m here, remember I promised that nothing would happen to you and your mom.”
Rose nodded at that and Eric smiled before his eyes began to glow again and then ripped the door of its hinges. Elise smile and was going to hug Eric but her eyes saw something and fear was evident on her face as she held Rose tightly. Eric seeing this turned to see what she saw, standing there was a figure completely covered in black combat gear with only their eye visible.
The figure was of course none other than Lupa.

Candor: The Forgotten House
*** Please read note below *** As a 16-year-old mage from a powerful family, Jayce Candor had known from a young age what his future would hold. As the fourth son in his family the possibility of him becoming the heir to the household was very small. But, with his talent as a mage, his potential accomplishments in the military could lead to titles of nobility and political power. However, on what would otherwise be an unremarkable night, everything he had ever known, the only people he ever cared for, and all of the plans for his future were destroyed. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. By imperial decree, all those bearing the name Candor were hunted down and executed as traitors of the Empire. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.

Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.
