Gosbi has been much more involved in the case than I thought he was going to be. He’s been scanning every piece of the crime scene like a madman. He’s constantly asking questions about the force, about me, about the suspects we currently have. He keeps going back to the couple we encountered on his first day out. The commissioner finds it irritating and I can understand why. I’m kinda impressed, he almost seems like an ACTUAL detective. Plus, his snooping has pulled up a lot of information I didn’t even know existed.

The blood, for instance, Holmes recognized as a calling card for the Hare family. I read about them while we were leaving to prepare me for any further development. Apparently, the hare family is a group of serial killers known for their terrifying grasp on power and their victims' odd deaths yet being nearly invisible to the public eye.

According to the only records, I could find the Hare’s are obsessed with animals, tech, and building stuff. They’re very good at creating things from scratch most of them have gone so far as to use THEMSELVES as subjects to their tinker. This means the hares are often half robotic themselves. Being able to turn into deadly robots shaped like designated animals. They are also very hyper-sensitive to bright colors, not that they hate them; they love bright colors…. which is why they are known for using the gadgets they invent to dye their victim's blood before murdering them in a very graphic fashion. Truth be told I didn't even know about them. If I had, they would be the first on the list Holmes suspects the hares used their influence to bury the information. I think he's right considering how hard I had to look for this.

Holmes said he actually knew a member of this family, Mellisa (Haron) Hare. Mellisa turned herself into a psych ward after her husband died in a police shootout. She was transferred to a different asylum every other month after she killed her first ward’s director. A couple of weeks ago she was transferred from the Harlem state asylum, the same asylum Holmes was at.

Considering Mellisa's violent behavior, I wouldn't be surprised if she was sneaking out and killing people in different areas. Holmes, on the other hand, insists that Melissa is kept under high security at all times and couldn’t commit THIS crime, even bringing up how the blood was green and not yellow, the color Melissa is known for using. He does seem to think she’s connected to it somehow though.

It seems like she’s currently at Hollyoaks asylum. It's one of the tightest locked asylums in Harlem despite the high security there are quite a few records talking about her having things like saxophones or paint brushes despite the doctors making it clear to employees and staff that she’s not allowed to have these things. I can already tell she’s going to be a hard person to reason with.

I better come up with a strategy.
