《Daydream of Gods》10 Fire:Beginning

The day had begun, a beautiful sun was shining behind the back of a magnificent red horse, burned ground was left on his path, Inferno was galloping towards the big building beyond the dark forest. Night was holding tightly on his back, it looked like it would take a few minutes to get their destination so Inferno decided to have a talk with the kid who looked like he would fall from his rear end from concern.
Inferno[kid chill, we are almost there, and you already heard John, the people in that place wont hurt you brother, so you can relax a bit, and I guarantee you that they cant stop me from taking both of you either]
Night, was gloomy.
Nigh [I already know what John said, but how can he be sure, and that also doesn’t change the fact that I am still worried about my brother, so just go faster]
Inferno[believe me kid, John has never been wrong so far, so if he said that your brother is safe, he is safe, and also you don’t give a fuck about respecting the gods do you, you know John aint here now right]
Inferno didn’t like feeling disrespected, and that kid has done so since the moment they met, he talked rudely to them, and even now when John was gone, Night still had the same attitude, he was a Demigod, the strongest, so he decided to let this threat, so Night can learn to show respect towards higher existences, but he had never expected the answer.
Night[yes I do, so there is no need to talk, just run faster]
Inferno had to give it to the kid, Night was bold, but he really wanted to burn him into charcoal right now, but decided to keep his feelings in for now and just fulfilled the wish of the kid, after all he wanted to meet Day as well, after all he will be his new saint.
Day was sitting in a dark sell, thinking about his brother, he had a grave expression. Day had seen Inferno and even thou he didn’t know how strong that monster was, just by the power it gave off he knew it was unimaginably strong, and he also knew that his brother, if things proceeded how they were supposed to would have been around the part that had turned to ash, so he couldn’t help but feel like he was in a nightmare, no they had always been in a nightmare, but this was worse ,if there was hell it would probably be this.
He decided to think about it in several different ways, after all he might have missed something important, but no matter how he thought about it, Night was dead, he didn’t come out of the forest before Day was brought in the prison walls, and just by the fact that even beyond those walls, he could feel the heat coming from the distance it just proved how much heat was coming of that monster, unless a miracle had happened, Night was dead, miracle was the only thing he could hope for.
Day let his head lean on the wall in the cell and looked at the celling, his face which usually looked bright, even in all those dark situations that had happened to them till now, lost all its hope cause he knew something painfully well, {There are no miracles} , or at least it never happened to them.
Day started to laugh, his life has finally hit the bottom, he had no people who cared about him at all, but at least he had his brother, they were the same age but he knew that compared to himself, Night was foolish, Day had taken care of him to the best of his abilities, Night was strong so he decided to be smart, he had managed to taught himself how to read and write, looked at other people who were good at different thing, learned how to analise a situation and come up with outcomes, create solutions to problems, but that was all so they could survive together, the key word being together, and mainly his brother, that was why he was ready to give up his own life so Night could escape ,but now, {there, really is no point in living anymore is there} Day thought, he was in despair.

He moved his head and looked at all the delicious looking food which was in his cell, even in that crisis the guards had brought it here so he could eat, and even thou the food looked extremely tasty and for the first time in his life he could eat to his hearth content, for him the food just looked bland, and he knew exactly why, but there was one useful thing on the table. Day emptied one of the plates and broke it, he took one of the pieces and blankly looked at it, it was time to go meet Night, he put the piece on his neck but before he could do the only thing he thought would give him peace, a sound from something burning was heard, the heat in whole prison rose, but the most important thing was that his instincts were now telling him that a miracle had in fact happened, which made him drop the sharp piece and fall on his knees after he felt weak in the legs, Night was probably alive, he smiled and started to cry, it wasn’t over for them after all.
Night was looking at the giant whole which was made in the outermost prison wall with a look of admiration, Inferno was really strong. When they got close, he was carefully dismounted, and was told to walk behind the fire god, cause in inferno words{humans get hurt easily}, then the fire turned into boy which looked 16 or 17 at best with strong but not overwhelming build and with short red hair and eyes that looked like they were on fire, as the Fire God walked the mighty wall started to melt in front of him, opening a path for them, the same thing happened to all the other walls and they were now in front of the guards, they were surrounded the moment they walked out of the melting walls, Inferno gave them a look and smirked, these people were either idiots or were fearless cause the difference in power was obvious, but it didn’t really matter which it was, as it wouldn’t change their end of course, he decided to make an example out of them, he didn’t want to kill the whole prison cause the people who could be killed was limited and he didn’t want to waste his kills here, but it would be troublesome if they knew that so he flicked his finger and the front row of guards which surrounded him felt something below their legs, but as they were about to look down, white fire erupted from where they were standing, several white fire colored pillars appeared for just a second but that was enough, it burned the guards completely, skin, bones, muscle and even blood all disappeared in a blink of an eye, not even ash remained from them, but that was the obvious result, earlier when he yelled that not even dust would remain from them, Inferno meant that quite literally, after all he wasn’t the god of fire for nothing.
The person who had sent the guards to test the waters and had given them precious magic tools to survive let out a desperate breath, the magic items they had were very precious, they gave almost complete immunity to fire and would teleport the wearer to a safe position when danger was detected, they were given to him by the kingdom in case the prisoners escaped and people in high positions here wouldn’t be able to escape, the fire resistance was just a free bonus cause of the materials they were made from, but it still made the wearer almost completely immune to fire, but he hadn’t expected that the God would be strong enough to the point of burning the people to nothingness even with the resistance and so fast that the magic items wouldn’t even be able to activate.

Hades had never met a God before, he knew they were strong creatures and were in different world from the one he was in but he still wasn’t sure of their power, he had met saints before, after all in the kingdom of fire there were quite a few people who had Gods power as this kingdom revered Gods above all else, but they all were weaker than him, they were of course still strong but it wasn’t even close to the degree the God in front of him was, this wasn’t just difference in level this was a whole other game. He had had confidence in his power as the people who are stronger than him in his country could be counted on one hand and none of them were saints, but this power, even if he knew it was beyond his imagination, knowing something and seeing it first hand were two very different things. He knew what his orders were and what consequences there would be for disobeying them but if he attacked now, every person in this prison would be done for, so he decided to ignore the rules and choose the life of his people instead.
Hades put on the best smile he could and with Tom by his hand walked in front of the guards and started to talk to the crimson eyed boy, no to the crimson eyed God.
Hades ”Hellow o great Inferno, I have never met you in person but I have heard about you, may I ask what do you want”. The lord then got on one knee and bowed, the guards were a bit bewildered but did not dare to act for many reason, some were displeased from the actions of Hades, cause only the King should be treated that way, but couldn’t say anything over their fear and just looked at the sight a bit disapprovingly and tried their best to not get noticed by the boy.
Hades tried to be as respectful as he could, he didn’t know if the other side could understand him cause even if in the story he knew the God talked with people the language now and then were different, he just hoped that as a god he would have a way to understand others, and judging by the fact that the boy didn’t burn any more people and his calm expression was now turned into a smile he must have at least understood that the people here had no intention of opposing him.
Inferno was happy {yes, this is how you talk to Gods} he thought, he was quite pleased with the person in front of him, he was a mighty existence, he should be treated with at least this much reverence, especially in his own kingdom, Night had continued to disrespect him since the moment they met, he was quite flustered but he wouldn’t kill a kid just because he was flustered and even more so when one of the people who had take a liking to the kid was the Guardian, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t angry, to some degree the guards he had killed could have died differently but he wanted to vent his anger and they were just unlucky, that’s why even thought it was enough to just show the flame, and could have left them live cause he knew that the items they had could have saved them he burned them before they could escape.
For some reason Night who watched the events before him happen, and was just a bit surprised that even the strong Lord had bowed in front of the creature who claimed to be god, but showed a behavior closer to that of a spoiled child, didn’t like the grin on Inferno face and poked him with his elbow, he reminded him why they were here.
Inferno looked at Hades and spoke in dignified manner, with motions which in his opinion made him look more majestic, to make himself look even more like a higher existence but the opposite side just looked at him strangely, like he was doubting something at the moment.
Hades looked at the boy who might have tried to say something but only made strange noise, which sounded a bit funny, and then make movements which looked even funnier and a bit of a doubt about his power and about its existence appeared in his mind, but he quickly removed the doubts, he had never met a God before, and if he had to be honest all saints were a bit strange as well so it might just be difference in culture, he couldn’t have known that it was in fact Inferno who was the strange one.
Inferno frowned, he had forgotten something, the reason why he made the pact with the boys, people usually couldn’t speak God language, only saints could understand gods but that was still limited to some degree and it only worked for the god who gave the saint power, so he felt flustered for traying to talk and probably sounding like a bird in a pencil scratcher, he looked at Night and told him to repeat his words exactly as he was saying them, and to make sure to do it with strength in his voice, but the boy looked confused, Inferno put his hand on his face, John had forgotten to tell Night that people usually cant understand what he is saying and one of kids main jobs will be to tell others what the God speaks.
Night was still confused about that, cause for him he was just speaking normally, but decided to do it anyway.
Night looked at Hades and spoke “I will speak for the mighty God, this great being … ”
Night looked at Inferno with displeased face, like he was looking at an idiot.
Inferno[what are you doing repeat the rest]
Night felt embarrassed, he knew his brother was safe, he could feel it for some reason, which made his fearful mind return to his normal state, they were usually in pretty dangerous situations quite often after all, and now that this ”Great God ” is here the guards wont have time to pay attention to anything else, so he felt awkward as he was speaking he words the God told him to.
Night faced Hades who was looking at him intensely, as to not miss anything he said.
Night “Inferno here wants to speak with the one in charge”
Inferno looked at Night with anger, he didn’t say that, well the message was the same but the words were completely different.
Inferno[why didn’t you repeat what I said]
Night continued to look at Hades but still answered
Night[cause its fucking embarrassing, it sounds worse than Nobles and I hate those guys]
Inferno really couldn’t believe his bad luck, he would protect them, and even give his power to the boy brother but this brat didn’t even do one of his few jobs right, he decided to punch the kid, he wouldn’t kill him or harm him but he had to show who was the boss.
Inferno swung his human hand to punch Night but in that moment a pain suddenly went through his body making him stop.
Inferno [Fuck you Joh…]
Inferno frowned, before he could finish his words spoken in a moment of anger a strong lighting appeared in the sky, which made him a bit afraid, he thought that this was John intervention, which was actually wrong as there were quite a few storms in this kingdom, and this was just a good timing, but it still made him stop his words and actions and just swear internally, he was obviously stronger than the kids, but It looked like he wasn’t in complete charge. He turned and looked at Hades who had spoken while the events had taken place claiming he was the one in charge and based on the power of the people here he was indeed the strongest and made Night repeat his words while sulking.
Night heard the words of inferno and smiled, he wasn’t sure why inferno had suddenly stopped his fist but he didn’t care, he was sure he wouldn’t be killed as he still felt that feeling of protection, the one he had while John was here even if it was a bit different this time, and if it was just a pain from a single punch a lot of people had beaten both him and his brother up to this point so he just didn’t care, so the words he spoke still made him feel grateful to Inferno.
Night ”Lead us to Day, NOW”.

Apex Immortal: a LitRPG system rampage
"Across the multiverse where the contest for power is the only constant, only a handful have succeeded in reaching the ultimate heights of ascendency and gained the title Apex Immortal. Dominus is one of them, unsurpassed in overwhelming violence, feared across universes. Now, memories locked and stranded far away from everything he’d built, Dominus will face enemies that will challenge even his powers and discover that change is more difficult than destruction." I’ve been writing fiction on and off for the last decade and I’ve always wondered how a peak immortal (or an OP superhero) would single handedly conquer a world that mirrors our own in all of its complexity. As a politics nerd, this is my attempt at answering that question using Machiavelli’s “The Prince” as the primary playbook. The “monsters” are entire political systems with entrenched culture. Expect many versions of real world political systems (and cultures) to be on the hit list. The MC has to successfully institute regime and cultural change without engaging in wholesale genocide and causing the state to fail. Expect things to go wrong pretty quickly as escalating and cascading political and economic effects rapidly go out of control. Methods deployed are not for the faint hearted.
