Chapter 4

First Creation

After the Gate event in the city the U.S Government has called for all national guard to respond to the call of duty, they were then dispatched to all of the cities, martial law was now in effect after the event there was a new threat.

In cities with large population the military began to set up smaller Fob (Forward Operating Base) inside of the cities they were stationed, these became known as Gate's First Response force, also known as GFRF the bases had a good size force stationed there, they were able to respond to any threat that had come out of the Gates.

The number of the united states military had grown in number over the years, after the Gates appeared the number of active duty had reached 10 million, the reserve had reached 3 million, the united states total population had reached 385 million, people are still joining the military after the U.S president made a call of aid to the people.

The united states Government then began to make new divisions according to the growing number of recruits, as well as for the volunteer forces of civilians being called Militias who have been helping wherever the military can not, they are under the command of the U.S government but instead of being sent into the Gates they are sent to the GFRF and help out with Gate events, the number of militia soldiers are around 300 thousand, they been stationed all around the United States.

The militias are provided basic body armor and a rifle, most use their own weapons and equipment, they are given some authority as military, they have the same kind of ranks and are structured as the armed forces.

President Mark Hue had called for immediate action against the threat, he had sent the 8th Marine corps as well as the 12th army group into the Gate, alongside of the two large forces which was estimated to be around 526 thousand military personnel, they also had there respected assets including ground and air vehicles, the event was broadcasted live on every channel and on all media in the United States.

The whole world watched as the United States sent in the most military personnel into the Gate, it looked endless as all sort of vehicles drove into the Gate, large transport trucks carried soldiers and heavy equipment, which included artillery, ammo, fuel, and helicopters, they also had more things that might be needed like sandbags and H-barriers meant for making a FOB.

It lasted for a couple of hours as the last vehicle entered the Gate, Mark Hue then began to speak.

"This marks the first step on defending America, the orcs attacked deep into our homeland, we shall not stand by, we are bringing the fight to them, we will show the orcs who they just messed with." he stopped and looked into the cameras and spoke again

"After the events at huminton the city was destroyed and people lost their homes, they lost their loved ones, we took a blow and this just went to show how unprecedented the Gates are, it's time to reveal what we had discovered." he moved to the right as a Tv was lowered and showed a video.

The Video showed a U.S soldier wielding a orc staff, the man pointed the staff at a target down the range and it began to glow orange, suddenly a small fireball was formed at the tip of the staff, the man shouted

"Let the flames burn and turn my target to ashes." "Firebolt!"

The man shot a small firebolt, it hit the target engulfing it instantly and turned the target to ash.

The man then lowered the staff and tried doing it without the staff but was unable to.

"As you can see with the staff even us humans can use magic, but we don't possess magic, The reason why he was able to shoot the firebolt was because of a gemstone." the president said

The video then showed a small gemstone which was the color of bright and dark red, it was as small as the tip of a person's finger, it was smooth and in a small sphere shape.

"Only some of the staffs hold the gemstone meaning the orcs do have magic, they use the small gemstones in order to add more power, but for us it lets us use the power it holds, the chant comes to the users in their head that gives them the ability to use the spell, some people can use different spells we don't know why this is." he paused and continued

"We are guessing it has something to do with connection to that element or spell, we still are unsure, we used the gemstone and added it to a M4A1, the result is this." he looked at the Tv and played a video.

The video showed a soldier with a M4A1 and it was designed a bit differently, there was a gemstone sticking out near the Magazine area, he simply said

"Explosive Bullet"

The gemstone glowed a light orangish red, and a bullet flew out of the barrel, as it hit the target it exploded in a small flame and the target had a big hole missing from it, the size of the hole was that of a baseball.

The soldier then just fired normally and the bullets glowed a lighter orangish red, and once the bullets hit there was smaller explosions the size of a small golf ball, this showed that you did not have to chant when using the weapon, the gemstone glowed less brightly when you do not chant.

The M4A1's gemstone eventually lost its color, and the bullets became normal.

"this is the only backfire when using the gemstone in firearms, however we are developing a mode where you can turn off the gemstone in order to use it only when needed, the problem is getting the gemstones and having to replace them once they run out of energy." he stopped and then said

"this is all we have discovered so far, we do know there are different kinds of stones, but are unaware of how to get them besides finding them in staff's that the orc mage's carry, that is all" he walked off as the reporters questioned him but he did not respond.

I turned off the Tv and got ready to go outside, I left the main office and walked past my truck, which I had to clean over the days, the smell of iron from the blood was no longer there, the bullet casings were inside in a bucket I might be able to use them some day, I went to the bathroom and cleaned myself up.

After cleaning myself up I went to the back of the first barrack building, I'm calling the cabins this such that's what it reminds me of, as I went to the back I walked into the makeshift shed I had made with the Wood that was left behind, nothing fancy just enough room for me to stand in, and to store my truck, however I did not use it for that, instead I a bunch of scrap metal and parts laying all around.

I went To the nearby city the one not destroyed that is, and bought plates of Steel, it costed me an arm and a leg, I bought a total of 25 steel plates, I also bought a welding torch with a welding mask, which all together cost all my money, leaving me completely broke.

I worked at E-mart and pay day was on the 23rd, so I have to head to the city later today to check my bank, to see if my paycheck clicked in.

I worked on the days I was not busy, so it should be a fair amount, I get paid $23 an hour for being a manager their, I worked 6 hour shifts only, the total of hours worked in the past two weeks were 36 hours, I worked 6 days out of the 2 weeks so it should be around $700.

Anyways with the steel plates i tried to wield 3 of them into a small sphere it did not go well at all, it was hideous and not perfect.

I decided to search it up on the internet and saw I can mold metal, I did not do this before so I just took all of the remaining steel plates 22 in total and tried to keep wielding them in a sphere, eventually I got a rough sphere very rough on the edges, if you slid your hand on the sphere it would feel lots of tiny sharp stones.

The amount of time it took me was about 5 hours and I no longer had any steel plates left, the time was now 2:00am I got out here at 7:38pm so it took awhile.

It was necessary to try out the Simple robotic core spell, I wanted to see it badly so this effort may have been a waste of time.

It was time to see if it was or not, I took a deep breath and thought of the spell the chant came to me.

"Come To Life, Let the Sparks Of Intelligence Become One With You." "Robotic Core"

Just like that the rough shaped sphere began to glow with a dark grey color and stopped, suddenly after some time, the inside of the sphere glowed a bright blue, I was able to see the bright blue have bright white spheres fly inside of the bright blue, the sphere then became see through, the steel was no longer, instead replaced by a type of glass.

I seen the bright blue was loads of string like lasers in constant movement, rotating in all sorts of directions in the sphere, then inside of the lasers had small white spheres, the spheres went through the lasers using them as tunnels, those also moved around within the blue lasers, they both were moving at fast speeds, I could hardly keep track of them.

I tapped on the glass in a knocking motion, the sound it made was that of steel, which meant the glass was actually steel but made so I could see through it, I knocked on it again and once again it made this sound.

*Tink . . Tink*

The lights made no noise unless I placed my ear against it, which then revealed the sounds of zapping and whizzes.

After inspecting it some more, the words appeared again.

Just like that I gained a tablet that was just like my Book of Knowledge.

I looked on the tablet and saw that there were some options which included body parts of different sizes as well as roles of the robotic creation, it also had a bunch of information on each of the items and what it requires to make the part.

The top of the screen said 1 free robotic creation available, and you know what I did?, that's right I pressed that button. then the screen changed and gave me some options to choose from, these are the following options.

As I looked at the two options that were available, I decided to go with one that might be nice to have, especially in the future, the worker bot would be nice but I'm not too sure how it would work.

The soldier bot seems easy to understand the purpose, it was a soldier so it was most likely used for conflicts.

I chose the soldier bot option and then the tablet had a new screen open.

The Three options We're self explanatory, the light soldier probably has less in order to be able to move more, the standard soldier is just a normal soldier bot, while the heavy soldier was most likely able to take a beating.

Out of the three I decided to go with the Heavy soldier bot, my reason for choosing that one instead of the other three was simple, if there is an event like last time, I can count on the heavy soldier bot to take at least a hit or two.

Or so I'm hoping, I pressed the confirm option and the tablet showed new icons on the screen.

The first one said resources available, the other one said the amount of robots I had, as well as the types of robots in another tab, there was also a notification asking me to designate a storage space, I chose my shed that I built for the storage space.

The notification disappeared and it said,

As the notification on the tablet stopped, I began to look for the Heavy bot, I looked for any major changes, and sure enough there was a major change, there was now a large metal chimney coming out of one of the barracks.

Ok the chimney was not large, it was only 6ft tall and there was some dark smoke that left it, but afterwards there was no more smoke.

I walked into the barracks to see that there was no longer any rooms it has became a small scale factory, it had conveyor belts leading into different machines, one looked like a forge and that was connected by another conveyor belt, which led to another machine and it repeated until it reached a large pod, the pod was 12ft high and 10ft wide meaning it was as the size of the whole back wall.

The pod had a bunch of robotic arms that connected to the side of the pod, each arm had a different tool, some having 2 of the same tool, it Ranged from welding torches all the way to saw blades.

And sitting in the pod was a 6ft robot that looked human just without a normal head, it had a helmet as a head and the body was bulky, it had a backpack attached to its body made out of metal as well as arms that were easily 8 inches thick of metal, the chest was at least 20 inches thick of metal, while the helmets head was another 8 inches thick of metal with two places where one had 2 holes that was just dark, I'm guessing are the eyes.

And the other hole was where someone would have a mouth, it too was pitch black, the shape of the helmet was a modern military grade helmet, and the size of the backpack on its back went down all the way to its torso.

It could fit about 3 assault rifles side by side, the width of the heavy robot was the same as a 32 inch tv, he was a bigger target but the amount of metal thickness would definitely be enough to take some pain.

The size of the back pack extended outwards as well by at least 10 inches, so it had a lot of space, it would be slower I'm guessing, a hand from the pod extended out and I'm guessing it needed the core so I gave it over to the hand.

The hand retracted and inserted the core into the head of the robot, it lowered deeper into the body of the Heavy robot.

The Heavy Robot's eyes came to life with a light glow of white that was unnoticeable unless you looked closely, it slumped down and stood straight back up as it detached from the pod, it took a few steps out of the pod.

*Pssshhh . . . Thump . . Thump . . thump*

Steam came out as the pod disconnected the bot, the sounds of its steps echoed throughout the quiet room, the bot seemed to finally grasp its location, it took a few looks around the room as it noticed me.

The mouth flashed a light white glow as it began to speak.

"Private HS1 reporting for duty sir! . . ." the male robotic voice said while giving a salute

with every word it said the glow flashed on and off, almost like it was closing its mouth as it spoke, even though it had no mouth.

The robotic male voice sounded as if he had been in many battles even though he was just built.

I responded to the robot with a question,

"You're a private?"

"Yes Sir! Reporting for duty sir!" the robot shouted in his robotic voice

I liked the way he spoke, it reminded me of videos of recruits talking to their drill instructor, I smiled and said to the private,

"Private you have a new assignment, you are to follow my lead and act as my personal guard." I said in my best impression as a military officer or how I thought they sounded.

"Yes sir! . . . Sir requesting permission to speak." the bot said

Wow this bot was a soldier alright and a well disciplined one I think.

"Permission granted private." I responded

"Where is the Armory?" I need to rearm for the mission." the private said

Oh yeah I forgot about that, I do have some wood axe's, I can have him equip one of those, yeah that will do.

"Private I'm afraid we don't have a proper Armory yet, however we do have 3 wood axes, can you handle hand to hand combat private? I responded

The private spoke immediately,

"Yes sir! I have practiced in hand to hand combat, its required for every soldier to know in case of emergencies." he answered

"Very well private, let's go get you a weapon."

I started to walk to the shed which I also made the storage area, the private walked and the thumps from each step was amazing.

We arrived at the shed and the axes were laying against the shed walls.

"Pick one Private, it will be your best friend for some time." I said while giving the private a smile

"Yes sir!" the private responded

The private began to walk over to the axes and picked the one in the middle, the private left the shed and I watched as he gave the axe a few swings in different directions.

He swung with two hands, then he began to one hand the axe, he swung with more speed and soon enough he stopped swinging.

"Sir I have grown accustomed to the weapon." he said

I was surprised how he swung it with one hand, but then again he was a heavy soldier bot.

I gave him a nod and he brought the axe to his backpack with one hand, the top of the pack opened as he slid it inside then it closed.

That looked badass, is all that I could think of.

"Private, let's go, it's time for the first mission." I said

"Sir! What are the rules of engagement?" asked the private

"Do not engage unless we are attacked first unless I say otherwise private."

"Yes sir!" said the private

I began to walk to the truck, as I climbed in the driver's seat the private hopped in the back, as he took his first step the truck became much heavier on the back side, he was heavy alright.

I then began to drive to the city at 2:45am.

Simple Raise Undead -

Info - Raise a Creature back to life as an Undead which will follow your every order.

The Undead creature will recover from its wound but will keep the type of body it had when raised.

Skeletons: are fragile and do not have their full strength they don't require food

Zombies: keep their Strength and flesh they have at time of death they are like humans but just undead they do need to consume food

The body of Zombies regress to that of their 20's or 30's if the zombie is over the age of 50

Skeletons and zombies can't use all of their Skills or knowledge unless the skill is increased they are able to learn new skills and other stuff alike

Skeletons and zombies can get more of there flesh and bodies regained as the skill is leveled up

Skeletons and zombies require you to find a body

Skeletons and zombies have 10% of their skills, abilities, and repair to the body done once raised until a higher level

All raised creatures keep their memories before death but can not remember all of there professions and skills besides 10%

Special Undead can be discovered as you raise the undead creatures

Requires you to make the Shape of the core and the core itself

Robots can only follow basic commands until higher level core is available

Robotic Creation -

Lets you Make Robotic creations Giving you many options to choose from and you may design your own with the robotic designer or pick premade robots

The more you make the better parts or blueprints may become available

your imagination is the limit when it comes to making robotic creations

Robotic creations require materials to make keep that in mind when designing
