《The Plan》0 Champion - Lukus
Advertisement
In the physical realm, there is a gigantic circular island; spanning 350,000 miles wide. In the dead center, there is a large tree, holding a massive mystical gem in it’s trunk. The worshiped tree was given the name Yggdrasil, but it was originally an overgrown yew. When a soul is reborn part of the soul is peeled, and when there are high levels of soul fragments a mystical gem forms naturally. A soul devouring parasite was inside a small animal when it was on the overgrown yew. The animal fell into a small hole and was dying while the tree absorbed it. There the tree became Yggdrasil.
All life within the field of influence of the mystical gem is given mystic powers. As people live, their soul grows; when you die your soul goes to the spiritual plane, after losing a portion of itself. When souls are born, they are given random traits.
Lukus, God of Champions; was titled as the strongest warrior. He has been living for 20 years now, and gathered power quickly for having an affinity to the mystical powers on the island. The subjugation of monsters on the island reunited the island whole again. It’s been a year since the eradication of the monsters from the island. While at a party on the anniversary of victory our hero was in a corner drinking, watching everyone enjoying themselves. He was more than just a little tipsy so he started to walk home, then it all changed. He felt a monster below him, so he decided to jump in the sewers to check it out. After a minute of clumsy running, he was expecting to see a monster, however what he saw was a small child missing a leg and covered in blood crying. He didn’t know that monsters had children let alone could cry, he’s always jumped in only when there was a monster that was too strong for his comrades, and never participated with the subjugation of the weaker monsters. A little child crawling through the sewers, started to bawl when their eyes linked with Lukus, and the child knew he was the champion. The man then peirced the child through the chest bare handed. The only difference between this child and a human child was the small horns that grew on it’s head; it looked like they had someone file their horns to stay hidden. He was confused, he was always under the impression that monsters were not humans, maybe this child was half human?

“Are half humans monsters?” This thought he had confused him.
“missing 1% human is a monster!” This voice surprised Lukus, not expecting a reply to a thought he had.
“But... They have human thought, right?” The man walked up to him, attempting to stab lukus with a knife. Lukus, even while drunk, was the God of Champions. He deflected the deadly stab, however he got scratched on the hand.
“We don’t need a champion anymore, all the strong monsters are dead.” The assailant smurked.
“And you think you can defeat the Champion?”
“Already did.” Lukus felt his hand going numb, and mustered strength to rip his own fore arm off. He grabbed the assailant’s face, and smashed him into the wall. He left the sewers and saw hundreds of soldiers with bows.
“Fuck.”

“Sir, we uh, found Lukus the God of Champions dead this morning... And He uh, was killed with what appears to be a single arrow. There is 8000 dead civilians, 5600 dead soldiers, 30 dead royal knights, and… Support General Rivet Larkson died.”
The man didn’t have a smile on his face, and he didn’t expect to have this many losses.
“This victory was worth it... And uh, the champion wasn’t integrating with society... This wasn’t a risk we ought to allow, hmm?”

The Book of Rune
If you like moderately well-researched semi-medieval military logistics with some fantasy twists, and also conspiracy, and exploration, and violence, and maybe a dash of road movie, hey, Ruen just might be your thing. Plot-wise, basically there's a guy who got fired by Death, a kid with pyrotechnic tendencies, and a slave general who wouldn't mind retiring but ended up on a mass suicide mission. If you were looking for a less TL;DR version, a guy who got fired by Death meets a kid with pyrotechnic tendencies, and they try to get the guy un-fired while also trying to come to terms with death together (ooohhhh, look, I'm deep). Meanwhile a slave general does something stupid and ends up being sent on a suicide mission, and he tries to wreak havoc and save lives at the same time. The threads come together, I swear. This is a rough draft of a fantasy semi-book that I've had in the back of my head for some time. I've written a variety of short stories set in the world over the past three years, and I finally kicked myself into writing the actual story. Very much a slow work in progress. Occasional violence (okay, well, maybe more than occasional), occasional foul language.
