《Invader Zim >> Not Just a Defect <<》Chapter 9: Ship Save

Zim groaned as he woke up in a dark room.
Looking around, he saw that he was in a small prison cell.
Zim looked at his PAK, which was luckily still on his back.
He sighed when he saw that he still had it.
He then started feeling angry at Dib.
He was going to hand him over to the Swollen Eyeball Network! He thought they were FRIENDS!
Zim scoffed.
Who was he kidding? This was DIB he was talking about.
No matter what, Dib was still Dib.
He was insane and crazy.
Zim sigh as he rested his back against the wall, sliding down until he was sitting, his head resting on his knees.
He didn't want to show the Tallests that he was weak by showing emotions, but it couldn't be helped anymore.
Zim felt the tears brimming his eyes as he sat there in the dark cell, all alone.
With Dib
Dib was walking home.
It had started raining sometime after Zim was kidnapped, and Dib couldn't even care less.
The streets were all wet and flooding.
Dib stopped and looked up.
He had made it home.
He walked up to the front door and entered his house, closing the door behind him.
Dib's father was standing in the living room, his arms crossed and his foot tapping against the floor in anger as he glared down at his son.
"Son, where have you been? You've been gone for FIVE hours! It's nearly midnight Dib" said Professor Membrane angrily.
"I'm sorry dad. I promise it won't happen again" said Dib sadly, looking down at the floor.
He walked past his father and up the stairs to his room.
Gaz just stood in the shadows, watching as he closed the door to his room.
She had witnessed everything that had happened.
She actually felt bad for Zim.
She silently opened the door to her brother's room and entered.
She watched as Dib sat on his bed, his back turned to his sister as he looked down at the pile of papers and blueprints he and Zim had been working so hard on.
She heard him sniffle and watched as he tried to wipe some stray tears away from behind his glasses.
"Hey" said Gaz, walking over to her brother.
Startled, Dib jumped a little and turned to see his sister.
"Oh, hey Gaz" said Dib sadly, turning back to the papers.
"What's wrong? Did you find Zim?" asked Gaz curiously.
"No....he-he was....h-he..." started Dib, but couldn't finish for he had started crying harder.
Gaz just stood there, staring at her brother as he let his emotions out.
It was kind of pathetic, but whatever it was is really bothering him.
"Z-Zim was taken by the I-Irken Invaders Gaz! I-I was helpless to stop them! A-And Tak i-is the new General a-and I don't know what to do! I-I shouldn't have said anything about Zim, b-but I saw the opportunity to s-stop the Tallests. I-I only meant for the Swollen Eyeballs to take him i-in and re-retrieve the information from his PAK, b-but that's all! I-I didn't mean for this to h-happen. I-I'M SO S-SORRY!!!!!" sobbed Dib miserably.
Gaz gagged as she saw the snot and tears running down his face as he cried, but shook it off.
"Don't say sorry to me, you have to tell Zim" said Gaz simply, crossing her arms.
"B-But the Tallests are going to kill him!" sobbed Dib.
Gaz rolled her eyes.
"So we go rescue him. Duh" said Gaz.
"B-But-" started Dib, but was interrupted by a loud noise coming from outside.

Dib and Gaz both exchanged confused and worried glances before running out onto the roof. They stood on the part of the roof that Dib would always sit on and look at the stars, staring in shock as they saw a bright red and purple fireball fly by.
They both watched in shock and awe as the purple and red fireball left a trail of debris, pieces of spaceship coming off.
They watched as it swirled down, crash-landing near Zim's base.
"Come on!" shouted Dib, jumping off the roof. He grabbed hold of the pipe that was going up the side of his house and slid down, landing on the ground gracefully.
Gaz jumped down as well, landing on her feet perfectly.
The two ran down the street towards the Irken's base.
They were shocked to see an Irken Spaceship, almost similar to Zim's, had crash-landed in the middle of the street just in front of the green house.
Hearing the sound of something crash-landing outside, Gir opened the door and stared in wonder and awe at the strange ship, Minimoose floating next to him.
The glass window to the ship popped open and an Irken fell out.
Dib recognized this Irken!
"Skoodge!?" shouted Dib, shocked.
He and Gaz rushed over to the downed Irken, seeing that he was banged up and injured.
"Dib? Gaz? Where's Zim!? I-I have to warn him! Tallest Red got angry at Tallest Purple because he didn't want to kill Zim and destroy the Earth anymore, so he had him locked up and told the Invaders he was murdered by Zim! T-The other invaders and Tallest Red are planning on killing Zim! We have to warn him!" explained Skoodge desperately.
"Skoodge, they already came! Zim was already taken. You're too late" said Dib sadly.
Skoodge gasped.
He looked over at Gaz, hoping she would tell him that Dib was lying.
She sigh and shook her head sadly, knowing exactly what he was thinking.
Skoodge felt tears in his eyes.
"I-I was too late!" wailed Skoodge.
"Dibby? Where Master?" asked Gir curiously, walking over.
He was curious as to why his master wasn't home, and wanted to know where he was.
Minimoose squicked, also curious.
"Gir, Minimoose....Zim was taken by the other Invaders. Tallest Red is planning on killing him" admitted Dib sadly, kneeling down and resting his hand on the SIR unit's shoulders.
Gir didn't want to believe it.
"B-But he will be back? Right? Master MUST come back! I made waffles for master! When will master come home?" asked Gir, unaware of what Dib had said.
"Gir..." said Dib, choking up.
The little robot was too innocent and naive to see what was going on.
"Master coming home soon...?" asked Gir, tears brimming his teal blue eyes.
Dib shook his head.
The SIR unit didn't know what else to do but cry.
Dib pulled Gir into a hug and comforted him the best he could.
He sighed, looking up at Gaz, Skoodge, and Minimoose.
He then pulled away from Gir and looked down at the poor robot.
Dib then got a determined look in his eyes, and he stood up.
"Skoodge, we need your help" said Dib.
"Ok, what do you need help with?" asked Skoodge.
"We need a powercell for Tak's ship. Does yours still work?" asked Dib.
"Yes, it should have survived the crash, but I thought you and Zim were enemies. What happened? Why do you want to save him?" asked Skoodge curiously, scratching his head in confusion.
"We were enemies, but that was before the Tallests survived the Florpus Hole. They told Zim the truth. The fact that his mission was a fake and that he's a defect. They even told him how no one likes him. They said they were coming to kill him personally and destroy Earth, so we teamed up and became friends. I made the worst mistake in my life though, and because of it, Zim was taken" explained Dib.

"Oh...ok. I'll help in any way I can" saluted Skoodge. He then rushed over to his crashed ship and rummaged around in the engine compartment before finally finding the powercell.
He showed Dib, the black haired boy nodded in approval.
"OK, let's go fix Tak's ship" said Dib with determination.
Gaz, Skoodge, Gir and Minimoose nodded in agreement and rushed back to the Membrane house.
Dib opened the garage door to the shed, revealing Tak's broken down ship.
It was completely destroyed during the Florpus Hole incident, having almost killed Zim before shutting down.
"Alright guys. Let's get to work and fix Tak's ship! Again..." said Dib.
They all nodded and got to work.
With Zim
Zim heard the metal cell door open.
He glanced up from his position and saw Tak.
She was wearing her helmet so he wouldn't see her face.
"Alright Traitor Zim, Tallest Red is ready for your trial when we get back to Irk. He wants you moved to a different cell, one away from the other prisoner" said Tak.
"Trial? I already had one several months ago..." said Zim. He didn't even think twice about there being another prisoner on board, besides him of course.
Tak chuckled darkly.
"Yes, but that was BEFORE you decided to MURDER Tallest Purple" said Tak angrily.
"But I DIDN'T DO IT!!!" yelled Zim, standing up and clenching his fists in anger.
"Yes, you did you TRAITOR!" said Tak, taking out her stun gun and zapping Zim with it.
Zim screamed as he felt the shock go through his body.
He fell to his knees and clenched his fists, trying to ignore the pain, but it was too much.
Zim grit his teeth as Tak walked over and knelt down on one knee in front of him, grabbing his chin with one hand and making him look up at her.
"I don't know HOW you managed to sneak aboard the Massive, Traitor Zim, but however you did, one thing is certain. Tallest Purple was murdered, and Tallest Red saw the whole thing" said Tak darkly, glaring at the defenseless Irken from behind her tinted black helmet.
"I-I.....didn't do it..." said Zim weakly, trying not to pass out again. He had some stray tears running down the sides of his face from the pain of the stun gun.
Tak scoffed and let go of his chin, standing up.
She watched as his head slumped down, staring at the ground.
"Come on. Tallest Red wants you in a different cell during the trip back to Irk" said Tak with no remorse.
Zim just stood up and complied.
There was no use in escaping.
He was only a defect after all.
Tak grabbed Zim's hands and cuffed them in front of him before leading him down the halls.
With Dib
"We've done it! We fixed Tak's ship!" cheered Dib, pumping his fists in the air.
"Finally" said Gaz, smiling slightly as she wiped her greasy hands with a cloth.
Tak's ship was fixed as if nothing ever happened to it in the first place.
"Alright, let me see...." said Dib.
He climbed into the ship and sat down in the pilot's seat.
He pushed a button on the control column, making the ship turn on.
The lights in the ship flickered on before turning red.
"WHO ARE YOU!? AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY OWNER?" screamed the ship, using her two claws to try and kill Skoodge.
The Irken jumped in fright and hid behind Gaz, shaking in fear.
"It's me! Dib!" shouted Dib, holding on tight so he wouldn't get thrown out.
"That human kid with the large, dumb head!?" demanded the ship, digging her claws deep in the ground.
Dib just sat there, a blank look on his face.
"....yes...." said Dib, knowing if he didn't say yes, the ship would throw him out. He needed her help in order to save Zim.
"What happened to the Florpus Hole? Did you defeat that FILTHY Irken scum, Zim?" asked Tak's ship with hostility.
"Yes, we defeated him, but we have to go save him. He's my friend now, and I've made a TERRIBLE mistake. I-I have to save my friend. He was the only friend I actually had, and now he's been taken by Tallest Red and is going to be killed. Please ship, you HAVE to help us!" pleaded Dib.
"And why should I HELP you?" asked the ship.
"Because Zim's ship was deactivated by the Tallests and Skoodge's ship is on fire and burning up. You're the only other ship we have. Please, I'm begging you ship" said Dib, feeling tears in his eyes.
The ship was silent at first, but then moved the seat Dib was sitting in, making room for the five of them to all fit.
"Get in, all of you. There's not enough room for everyone, but we should be good for now. Try and get another ship to escape in. One that's big enough to fit at least three of you, understood?" explained the ship.
Dib smiled, knowing that the ship was actually helping. She HATED Zim, just like her owner, Tak, does. But she's willing to help save him, considering Zim is now a friend to humans.
Gaz sat down in the seat next to Dib. Skoodge, Gir and Minimoose got in the small space behind the seat, being able to still see through the windows up front.
"Alright everyone, hang onto your butts!" said the ship, rotating her two claws and blasting off into the sky.
"WHAT IS IT WITH YOU AND BUTTS!? SERIOUSLY!" yelled Dib as everyone held on tightly.
The ship broke through the atmosphere and activated her hyper beam, flying faster than the speed of light.
"Irken ship, the Massive, has been located near the planet Mars. Coordinates of destination is Irk. It appears it is heading back to its home planet. It has just entered hyperspeed" explained the ship, doing a scan of the Massive from her position.
"Alright, how long?" asked Gaz.
"Max two hours at this speed. Irk is pretty far" explained the ship.
"But I thought we were going to the Massive" said Skoodge, confused.
"The Massive may have just left, but it also just entered hyperspeed, meaning it will arrive at Irk an hour before us. It has stronger engines and an improved powercell that allows it to travel TWICE the speed of light, hence why it's called hyperspeed and not hyperbeam" said the ship aggressively. She did not like being questioned.
"Alright. Thanks ship" said Dib, smiling and nodding.
"Whatever you say" said the ship.

Mana Tank Magus
Jonathan Orville has had a thoroughly enviable life, completely devoid of pain or suffering. Though his life is tragically cut short due to a sharp rock, he would never regret his perfectly positive life where nothing bad ever happened to him, ever.Even though he doesn't regret it at all, he still finds himself summoned to the netherworld for a new adventure as livestock for a needlessly attractive demoness who is totally probably in love with him. This is a story about using the power of positive thinking to overcome adversity. Demonic forest fires, consumption of souls, rivers of blood and rampant carnage; none of these can get in the way of a dedicated effort to think positively.Newest chapters at: https://manatankmagus.wordpress.com/This location is likely to stay a bit behind. I am very lazy. :DDISCLAIMER: My primary purpose here is Comedy rather than badass skills and righteous adventures (although there's some of that too). The main character can be a little bumbling at times and has a much higher opinion of himself than justified. If you really dislike that kind of thing, this is probably not for you.
