A cold light breeze of the coming twilight passes Kit’s dark hair flowing beautifully with the wind, his green eyes hides as he feels the breeze tracing his face, his black cloak drifting through the gust like wings creating a whipping song lost in the loud chatter of the flowing traffic of the bustling city. Kit opens his eyes and surveys the area; the different colors of clothes of the city folks shade his vision while the scent of food embraces his nose, this city never stops amusing him. Dragon’s End, the capital city of the Republic and also largest and the oldest city in the continent of Osloris, built in what now is an inactive volcano known as Dragon's End which is known for its three massive black walls surrounding each district of the First City. The first wall also known by locals as the Outer Wall protects the lower district which houses the poorest citizens of the Republic. The second wall or the Middle Wall protects the middle district which is composed of numerous middle class merchants, temples and residents who are wealthier than the lower district and finally the third wall or the Inner Wall defends the richest of the rich families in the Republic. The Tribunal Chamber which is the seat of power in the Republic is also in the protection of the Inner Wall and where Kit currently is.
Finished with his work in the middle district, Kit returns to the inner district as he crossed the bustling street while avoiding being seen by anyone. He wore his old light armor weathered by nature and his sword that was given to him by his adopted father in an old scabbard on his hips hidden by the dark cloak that he just bought before he enters the inner district.
He can already see his destination, The alabaster colored tower shaded in black by the approaching night as the diamond shaped magic crystals around the tower begin to radiate its beautiful blue hue that can be seen all the way to the port. That tower is also known as the Gilsorths Institute of the Arcane which is both a school and a library for the wizards of the Republic. It was founded by one of the great founders as well as heroes of the Republic, Elian Gilsorths, the Great Mage. It was once overseen by the Great Mage himself until his departure; now it is administered by the Circle, which is composed of five powerful wizards chosen by their own colleagues. The Gilsorth Institute of the Arcane is famously known for producing powerful and accomplished wizards such as the much more famous son of the late Emperor Dario I of the Golden Empire.

“Stop! What is your business here?” One of guard stops Kit from entering the tower. The man wore the famous uniform of the Republic soldier but fancier than the uniform wearing by the guards station in the middle district. “You don’t look like a wizard to me, definitely not a scholar, who are you?” he said sternly. “I’m here for Lord Towers second son.” Kit shows a badge containing the sigil of the Towers Household. “Oh, sorry you may enter sir.” The guard quickly change his tone and usher Kit to the entrance of the Tower. ”Thank you, bye, bye” Kit grinned and nodded as though the guards earlier demeanor did not happen.
The magnificent Tower of the Institute never ceases to amaze Kit, the tall thin appearance of it outside does not reflect at all as to what it is on inside, it still has the circular shape of the Tower but the spaciousness of what is inside is bigger than any building Kit had ever seen. The receiving hall is full of wizard students gallivanting around with their stereotypical pointy hats and long cape; there are professors as well, whose eyes glued to their books not giving a care to bustling crowd, though not one of them gave any resemblance to what Kit is searching for. He left the hall and hastily went to where the library is since the one he is looking for is definitely holed up there.
From the window of the great Tower passes the blinding red light of the coming twilight bringing illumination to the candle lit room where the library nestles the collection of books hidden and protected from the harsh nature outside. Kit quickly scans every nook and cranny of the library looking for the young lord. And there at the corner of the seventh bookshelf, a young man with the same dark hair as him wearing a customized cloak designed with his house’s color and sigil, scanning the shelves like a predator looking for its prey.
"Talking to yourself again ey?" Kit said as he goes near the young man’s position. The young man swiftly gazes at the place where the voice’s location came from. “Your sneakiness is as creepy as always, Kit." The man replied as he returned to his unending research on the shelves in front of him. "Said by the guy who talks to himself on a regular basis; nonetheless thank you for the compliment El." Kit responded as he pretend to look for a book in the shelves. "It’s not a compliment, by the way why are you here?" rectified by El who was still busy scanning the bookshelves. "Nothing important, hmmm did you find the book you were looking for?" Kit took another book then immediately returned it to its section. "Do I look like I found the book? And don't change the subject; you're in trouble aren't you? El stops and looks at Kit intently. "Ah clever wizard, I can never lie to you" Kit sighed. "Because you didn't even try, plus you will never, ever, go to a library just to talk to me, so what is it?" El returns to his book seeking. "True, I would prefer a tavern but it is kind an emergency, well you see I may have borrowed something important from the Captain of the City Guards" Kit leans on the shelves. "Borrowed? You mean steal" El quickly replied. "Steal is a strong word to say, I prefer borrowed, its more civil you know" Kit slyly smirked. "FINE, so what exactly did you borrow?" El asked, still not giving Kit his full attention. "How can I say this, mmmm, his wife?" Kit smiled while trying to look innocent. "What!?" El unexpected shouted, his voice reverberated to the whole library. "Shhh! be quiet! This is a library" the librarian quickly interjects. “Sorry, never gonna happen again" both swiftly replied. "Aaaanyway, so would you help me?" Kit moves to block their view from others. "Of course what are best friends for, but first help me find the book" El replied and took out another book from the shelves. "Wait what!?" Kit responded with astonishment. "Don't worry the Captain of the City Guards will not be back till morning the next day." El uttered. “And how did you know that?" he said looking confused. "The Captain of the City Guards is required to see the changing of the guards between the guard's duty in the morning and in the night" nonchalantly replied by El. "Again how the hell did you know that?" Kit uttered. "Well if you stop interrupting me you would know already" El said while exchanging new books. "So?" Kit retorted. "Really? Fine, as part of the elite citizenry of the Republic I should know all about this" El proudly responded. "That's it? Elite citizen bullshit?" Kit snapped. "That's it, what are you expecting?" El said and paused his reading while facing Kit. "I don't know some secret society shit?" Kit answered. "Enough of this nonsense and start helping me with the search, we don't have much time" El said and returned his attention to the books in front of him. "Fine, what about this?" Kit picks up a random old book in the shelf in front of him and gives it to El casually. "You can't just give any old random book, look this not even .. . ... Wait"
