As the sun hung in the sky, a small girl wandered the stone cliffs near her ocean home following a rumour. Since birth she had no voice to even cry with, and yet she sought to sing. Sing to her hearts content towards the calm ocean bay she resided near. As she wandered the village, she overheard a conversation from some guards who stalwartly protected their home. She snuck closer to listen in from around a corner and as the conversation, he eyes grew wider and wider. The guards spoke of a witch who had moved into the nearby cliffs and was said to be an extremely skilled healer but she was also said to be extremely dangerous.
But the girl thought of the healer part rather than the dangerous part. And with her child like innocence, sought to find the witch to finally speak. She returned home and told her parents of her discovery but while they wished for their little girl to speak, they too had heard the rumours of how she is dangerous. So the little girl asked why she was a danger but her parents just told her to drop it and together they could find a way. But the girl, while outwardly agreeing to planned to find the so-called dangerous witch and get her help. So once her parents were asleep, she snuck out and headed to the seaside cliffs the healer was said to reside in. No one saw her as she snuck out passed the few people who walked the late moonlit streets and the occasional guard on watch.
In the moonlit path, she made the journey across the well-trodden path to the cliffs, collecting a purple and silver flower to give to the healer. The sounds of the night echoed through the light forest foliage as the sea breezes snakes through the trees. The little girl becoming more and more frightened but staying determined. It wasn’t till after daybreak she finally reached the cliffs that border the side of the cove they live beside. Now that she had arrived, she started searching the large cliff for any sign of the mysterious healer who was rumoured to live here. She spent several hours looking before finding something. There was a small stone staircase carved into the front of the cliff face which she descended to find a small cave.

She approached the cave which had the insides bathed in shadows preventing one from looking further in than a few meters. A cold chill blew from the cave before a figure walked partially out of the shadows.
“Hello child.” The elderly female voice sounded out. “Why are you here alone?”
The girl tried to respond by using sign language but the witch once again spoke.
“While I don’t speak the language you do, I understand you are mute.” The voice spoke. “So I assume you came to me to have your voice returned.” The girl nodded enthusiastically. “You are not the first, but you are the youngest. So I shall grant your request to speak but I require something in return child.” She responds as from the shadows a crocked hand gestured her to follow before it returned to the shadows. The girl moved forward before she stopped and grabbed out the flower she had found and gave it to the healer who took it after some hesitation before both entered the cave.
Several hours passed before the girl once again emerged and hurried home. She encountered her parents along the way and as her parents hugged her, she surprised them.
“Hi mum, hi dad.” She said with a smile. “I can even say my own name finally!”
The three headed home shortly after, with the small girl having a new task ahead of her to repay the healer and the ability to sing. As they travelled home, the girl continued to say her name.
“Jade Mezzor.” She happily said in a beautiful sing song tune.

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *

Where Giants Fall
A fantasy LitRPG about traversing through worlds and slaying giants with nothing but a wooden suit and an army of treants. Nicholas Atkins didn't expect to wake up naked in the glowing woods. What he did expect was waking up to a hangover after last night's party- fortunately, that wasn't the case. Unfortunately though, he had worse problems to take care of than a headache. At first he blamed it on the alcohol; from what he recalled in Biology, glowing flowers didn't exactly exist in the realm of reality. However he was as sober as he could be, so next he blamed the drugs, but there was a problem- he didn't have the money to do drugs in the first place. When the fairies came, things became even weirder. Talks of climbing towers, magic tricks, and dinner were all on the table. Of course, dinner was the priority, but so was getting back home. However slowly, Nico realized that he might actually want to stay in this fantasy world. After all, he's had enough listening to Professor Paul's lecture on calculus- the swords and sorceries were just an added bonus. Still, staying in this new world has its own costs- and money is but one thing on that long, long list. Updated everyday except Saturday GMT+8 (Specific time varies by around 30 minutes). Mon at 9:00 AM Tue at 12:00 PM Wed at 3:00 PM Thu at 6:00 PM Fri at 9:00 PM Sun at 12:00 AM
