„I would like to turn back time for a second only and to change the past, if possible. Maybe I’ll have a chance this way to spend my life with you. But… it’s so hard to dream when reality slowly slaps my face and reminds me that I have the love forbidden because … he’s not mine… the life I want - it’s not mine, as it isn’t mine the love I dream about. But … I can only dream and that’s all. Nothing else, nothing more, and if and if I dare to dream then I must do it without anybody suspecting it or it will hurt me more, in the end, more than I can imagine, because … it’s only an illusion my dream … an illusion and nothing else.”

„What are you thinking about so intensely?” DooSan asked, making SolHi wince and stare at him while her hand touched his, so gently, when he put some pomade on her cheek ablush after Yun Ho’s slap.

„Aaa? About nothing… nothing special!” SolHi stuttered, quickly withdrawing her hand, and, intending to stand up and leave, she managed to turn upside down the small medical emergency kit that DooSan brought from his car to cure her wounds.

„Just stay calm!” he told her in a demanding voice and, tightly grabbing her hand, he forced her to sit down again next to him, on the wooden bench in the small park next to the police station. „Worse than a little child! You are capable to knock me down each time I „dare to go overboard” with you while you allow others to hurt you in this way. Only look at your palms and knees. Did you fight with a grizzly or what?” he told her reproachfully, showing her wounded palms and knees and this made SolHi slowly squeeze her lips, feeling remorse that she managed to give the game away in front of DooSan.

She would have liked to run away from there … tantivy … so big it was the shame felt in her soul and not because she’d been knocked down by an idiot like Nam Yun Ho, but because she felt so lefty next to DooSan, whose touches while bandaging her wounds, made her slowly shake inside and … dream.

DooSan also spotted her lefty, eventually, more after her second cheek also colored red without even being touched and it seemed like someone settled the fire that was burning so vividly inside her. „Are you alright?” DooSan asked her preoccupied and he suddenly stretched his hand to touch her forehead and to check if she has a fever. This sudden movement of his, made SolHi pull back and if DooSan couldn’t grab her hand and drag her toward him, she would have fallen to the ground, no doubt. „Did you contemplate hurting your butt too today, not only the face?” he told her reproachfully and this made SolHi suddenly hiccup and DooSan smile. „Yeah, yeah, I understood. No need to play the role of an innocent,” and he released her hand.

Two-stroke and one movement, SolHi moved a few centimeters away from DooSan, slightly turning her back to him and touching her cheeks with both palms, feeling so well their heat because they really seemed to be on fire. „Damn idiot!” SolHi scolded herself and she flicked her forehead. „Aaa” she eventually mumbled, but she wide-opened her eyes, seeing detective Kan not that far from them, carefully analyzing each of their movements.

„What are you doing here?” Kan asked, folding his hands. „It doesn’t seem to me only a fellows’ talk.”

„What we are doing?!” DooSan asked calmly. „Nothing especially: I’m only trying to figure out why we always get to have black marks on our faces because of her if we do or say something „inappropriate” to her while she allows others even to slap her.”

„When did I…?” SolHi tried to stand against DooSan and she suddenly turned toward him, piercing him with her furious glance. „I just… tried to avoid a fight here… that’s all.”

„Yes, yes, if you say so…?!” Kan hummed her words. „Anyway, it won’t pass without a scandal.”

„Why not? Don’t tell me that idiot managed already to complain against us,” she asked in an irritated tone. „If I get him, I’ll show him what means to…”

„Yeah, yeah, stay in line first,” Kan told her ironically, and, pushing his palms on her shoulders, he managed to make her sit down again. „Actually … everybody there knows already that you attacked Nam Yun Ho and because of this, he has a swollen jaw after your punch. So, it doesn’t matter if you do something else.”

„Because of SolHi?!” DooSan asked smiling. „I can’t believe that he preferred to say that he’d been punched by a woman and not to recognize that a man put him down. What can I say?! Wonderful man!”

„A man?” Kan asked in amazement. „Do you mean that not SolHi … put him down, but it was you who…,” and Kan imitated a punch.

„Who else?! If it was only for SolHi, he would have got off scot-free,” DooSan said, reproachfully glancing at her.

„I won’t be that sure, prosecutor. More with what I know that she did to him two years ago…,” but Kan didn’t manage to say everything he had to say because SolHi jerked above him, covering his mouth with both palms, but her behavior only made DooSan even more curious than before.

„Two years ago? What happened two years ago?” DooSan asked with curiosity, piercing them both with his glance.

„Aaa … nothing important,” SolHi rushed to answer. „Just…aaa!” she screamed when Kan bit her palm to release him. „Sombe!”

„What?! Prosecutor Han has the right to know what kind of … beast you are… and more after I know that poor guy, Nam Yun Ho, walked like a duck, for a week after you kicked what he has priceless. Not even after my death, I don't want to feel what he felt then,” Kan joked, slowly shaking his head in reproach.

Unhappily grimacing, SolHi tried to run slick away, because she spotted DooSan’s insistent glance at her and she knew that for sure will come to a bad joke addressed to her, but she didn’t manage to take even a step forward when she felt DooSan’s hand grabbing the hood of her anorak and pulling her toward him, then whispering in her ear: „emasculation… for a kiss?! Oh, girl, you are something to be afraid of!”

She slowly turned her head toward him, furiously staring at DooSan: „should I show you how I did this, on your own skin?” she murmured, but she received only a happy grinning as a reward from him. After this, DooSan passed by, winking at her. „Idiot!” she murmured and then followed him, but when she passed by Kan, she quickly made the sign of a falling head.

„Is it now my fault?! Well, of course, it is. It is always my fault when I try to defend you. Ah, Kan Gi Yon, you should keep your mouth shut more and for sure you’ll live better this life,” he mumbled while following them.

TWO DAYS LATER. AFTERNOON.

„Are you sure this is the place?” DooSan asked SolHi in a whisper while the two are hiding behind their car parked not that far from the entrance into a nightclub that seemed abandoned.

„I’m sure, or at least this says the coordinates sent by Dja Iun. Look!” she said, showing her phone and the address written in a message received from Dja Iun.

„It looks like so, but … this place seems to be abandoned,” Yoon Suk murmured and his ghost voice made the two wince while he happily grinned at them, seeing their frightened faces.

„You’ll kill us one day,” SolHi murmured. „When will you stop sneaking around like this?”

„Why? Is your consciousness guilty?” Yoon Suk added, grinning. „Let’s go in better. If to stay here and guess, will not help us to find out what’s in.”

Yoon Suk intended to pass by DooSan and SolHi, but she right away tripped him and the poor guy would have gone head over heels if not for DooSan who grabbed him by the clothes.

Glancing furious at SolHi, Yoon Suk mumbled something unheard, but she knew well that it was something nice addressed to her, but she didn’t care at all. „You deserved it for not listening to what others say,” she mumbled, satisfied.

„You could have told me first what you intend to do,” Yoon Suk murmured to her.

„Why? It’s more cheerful this way, and … next time, wait for prosecutor Han’s command before thinking about entering a „haunted” local and breaking the operative. Or what, are you a newcomer into the police department?”

„Ia, just shut your mouth, both!” DooSan shouted at them in a whisper, but he kept silent when they saw two guys exiting the local and getting into a car stopped in front, so sudden.

„At least we know now that this local is haunted by alive people!” Yoon Suk mumbled, but to SolHi his smart remark hadn’t been something she liked and for „punishing” him she tweaked so hard that poor guy was about to punch her, but he didn’t manage to say even a „psss,” because SolHi covered his mouth with both palms while whispering to DooSan. „Prosecutor Han, call for reinforcements! I’m sure that something „interesting” happens inside and only the three of us won’t be able to check it.”

„I’m also sure about this,” DooSan murmured and took a few steps away from them to make a call.

„Did someone tell you that you are a real vampire?” Yoon Suk told SolHi.

She grinned, showing him her teeth. „Should I start with you?” and she looked insistently at the detective’s neck while whispering: „Appetizing!”

„No, thanks! You can take prosecutor Han instead of me: he’s blood seems to be tastier than mine!” and he took a step aside from SolHi.

„Tastier than … what?” DooSan asked in amazement after approaching them again, but he heard only the end of their conversation, but none of them was willing to tell him the rest, especially SolHi who for sure would have killed someone than to accept in front of DooSan that she considers him a delicious prey… not after the last night in front of the police station.

The place where the competition that SilGi will be part of will take place is really impressive: a kind of amusement park for young people with a lot of bicycle tracks, skateboarding, car racing tracks, etc., but what really amazed Kan was the place for spectators that seemed more like a small arena of a bowl, with wooden benches, positioned on steps, like stairs, for better visibility.

Sitting only two benches up from where Captain Li was sitting, Kan pretended to be very focused on the video he was watching on his mobile phone, but in fact, he was spying on the main entrance from the corner of his eyes.

„You look too nervous!” he heard Captain Li’s voice and Kan glanced at him and saw him supported on his elbows, with the cap covering his eyes and looking more like being a person that just wastes his time till the competition will start than an agent or someone suspect. „There are our „mice” for the experiment there!” Lee made a joke and showed Kan to look toward the entrance where Yu Ra and SilGi showed up, being followed by a lot of „friends.” „By the way, isn’t that girl the one stabbed by her boyfriend, a few days ago?”

„Yeah, but not her boyfriend did that to her… she did it to herself,” Kan said in a serious tone. „I won’t forget her face my entire life.”

„Why so? Did you fall in love with her already?” Lee joked and his deaf laughter was heard slowly floating around.

„Yeah, yeah, I’m dying for her,” Kan mumbled upset. „It would have been better to be this way… eh, only with thinking about that I’ve been the one who took her to the hospital and „shook” until I heard that she’ll live, without knowing what kind of … girl she is. If I’d known this, I would have probably left her to die in her own apartment.”

„I doubt you would have done this.”

„Why so? Don’t you think that I’m capable of such things or what?”

„Yeah, your „good boy’s face,” tells me this,” Lee mumbled. „Those like you don’t leave anybody behind if it means that their life is in danger, even if those are bad guys.”

„Then, who would have done this? Those like you?” Kan tried to tease the captain, but he’d been amazed to see Lee staring at him without being afraid to be spotted by others. „Look in front, Captain. Or what, are you intending to be caught?”

„Don’t worry, good boy! It’s more suspicious if not to talk at all and more sitting that close to one of the other. So… relax and… enjoy the view.”

Kan grimaced, mumbling something „unpleasant,” but he became alert hearing a deafening sound. „What’s this?” Kan asked, practically in a whisper, and looked around.

„The start of the „war,” Lee joked, pointing toward the other agents that started to take their places among the other viewers. „Is there everybody ready?” the agents heard in their headphones Lee’s voice and everybody slowly whispered that they are ready. „Wonderful then! Don’t lose any of them and … no rush, boys! Let’s finish this job today: quick and clean!”

After this, Lee stood up and moved closer to the place where Yu Ra and SilGi were standing among friends. When he had a better view of the two, Lee apologized to a group of young people that were trying to jam to see the competition that was about to start, then he passed by them and sat down on one of the empty places seen there. After this, he put on the sunglasses that had a small camera on them and looked at the „target” to shoot everything that he could for evidence. So, Leen saw Gi Hiok squeezing his way through those present there and being accompanied by another young man … one of Lee’s men.

Seeing Gi Hiok approaching, Yu Ra tapped her boyfriend on the shoulder and beckoned to look behind him. „This one is more punctual than a Swiss watch,” Yu Ra murmured.

„I have no doubt of this: he was always like this,” SilGi answered and both moved toward Gi Hiok. „I thought that you won’t show up!” SilGi tried to tease Gi Hiok. „I thought even to bet that you’ll take to flight.”

„Why do that?! Not everybody is a chicken like you are, who served his girlfriend on a tray just not to pay his debts,” Gi Hiok turned the „favor” to SilGi, making him grimace. „Don’t worry: I’m not here to argue with you. Business is business and… I don’t love to lose, ever: neither time nor money.”

„If you say so! Anyway: this is something new even for a veteran like you. Wow, to enter such businesses… you need some blood, man. May I know why did you do this?”

„For money! What else for?!”

„Well… I must agree that you had always had a good olfactive for money. More than a hunting dog.”

„I’ll take it as a compliment, then,” Gi Hiok said, forcing a smile. „Did you bring…?”

„Did you doubt it?” Yu Ra said ironically. „The lemons?”

„Ready!” and Gi Hiok beckoned toward the agent that was accompanying him - the agent unzipped the bag he was carrying on the shoulder a little bit and showed Yu Ra and SilGi the money he had inside it.

„Perfectly!” Yu Ra mumbled satisfied. „The goods are still on the way here. So, enjoy the show, meanwhile. When we’ll be able to make the exchange, I’ll inform you!” and both lovers turned their back to Gi Hiok and moved toward their friends.

„Wow, these two are worse than the Italian Mafia!” Lee heard Kan’s voice in his headphone. „I've got my shunks, not another!”

„These are only kids playing like adults,” Lee said calmly. „If the Italian Mafia would have been here for real, we would have danced here in a bloodbath and not only watching calmly a bad staging… a garish one, anyway.”

„Do you think so?! In my view, these aren’t playing.”

„I also don’t think that they are playing! I would have liked to see how far their madness can go, but… no time for this,” Lee murmured barely heard and sadly smiling.

In the applause of the spectators and supported by Yu Ra who was shouting encouraging words like a mad person from the edge of the floor, SilGi took his skateboarder and approached the scratch where another young man with a drone was already. The two young men stared at the other one like two rivals, but only SilGi smiled with satisfaction as if knowing something that the other had no idea.

The competition started after the arbiter’s count down, who also discharged: a gunshot followed by a spectacular leap into the air of SilGi who got in air up to the height of the drone. Then, both SilGi and the drone stood frozen in the air for a few seconds, to later descend in a dizzying leap and when they reached the track, both chuted on it as if it was on the ice.

„Here we go!” Lee commanded when a young man approached Yu Ra, and whispered something into her ear, to follow him in a hurry later.

„Got it!” one of the agents answered and, pretending to talk by phone, he stood up and moved toward the parking lot where he saw that Yu Ra and the guy that accompanied her entered.

Sneaking past the parking lot wall, Kan managed to approach a lot the place where Yu Ra was with other three young men.

„Open it!” Yu Ra demanded and one of the young men opened the rear door of the black van next to which they were and Kan saw inside the van a kind of refrigerator for transporting organs. „Wonderful! Call the guest!” Yu Ra murmured, after opening a little the lid and making sure that the goods are in perfect condition.

„Bring them closer!” Kan murmured in the headphones and a few moments later he spotted a group of masked guys approaching the parking lot. „We’ll wait for the exchange first! Then, take them all!” Kan ordered, and the leader of the masked men slowly nodded because they were too close to Yu Ra and the others, and talking loudly could alarm the others and try to escape.

Five minutes later, Kan saw Gi Hiok and the agent with the bag with money entering the parking lot. Being a step only from Yu Ra, she said: „show me once again the lemons! Not for nothing, but I want to make sure that your money isn’t false!”

„Check it if you will!” Gi Hiok said with a slight mockery in his voice and, after taking the bag off the agent’s shoulder, he threw it at Yu Ra’s feet.

Yu Ra grimaced seeing his boldness and mumbled a „jackass” barely heard. After this, she bent, unzipped the bag, and checked the wads, making sure that the money is real and not only paper. „It seems to be everything ok!” she said after a few minutes of checking. „Give them the goods!” she told one of her men.

The agent took the recipient and moved away from Gi Hiok and the others. „I hope to have any other prosper businesses together!” Yu Ra said satisfied and stretched her hand toward Gi Hiok, waiting for him to shake it.

Gi Hiok ironically smiled and murmured: „I doubt it!” and he turned his back to her. This had been the signal for Kan who shouted in the headphones: „Now! Take them all!” and the masked guy surrounded Yu Ra and her men, yelling at them to raise their hands and not to make sudden movements or they’ll shoot them.

Gi Hiok, knowing very well what was next, laid on the ground, touching the back of his head with his palms and he’d been taken by one of the agents this way.

Spotting Gi Hiok’s movement, Yu Ra understood that he’d been who betrayed them. „Rat!” she shouted and took a gun from her back, but she didn’t manage to shoot him because she’d been immediately immobilized by two masked guys who put her on the ground and put on the handcuffs on her, even if she tried to escape from them and she was struggling to release her hands.

„It’s clean here!” Kan said in the headphones, after arresting the last guy from Yu Ra’s group who tried to run away.

„Wonderful! Our turn, boys!” Lee gave the signal, standing up, and, followed by the rest of his group, he moved toward the place where SilGi was continuing the competition.

But they didn’t manage to approach unnoticed by SilGi: he spotted them while moving through the other viewers and not seeing Yu Ra he understood that something went wrong and that it was time to run. That’s why, when he got on the upper part of the track, he jumped up, grabbed the drone, and threw it later over Lee and the other agent that were closer to him.

Touching the ground in front of Lee, the drone blew to pieces, and a splint cut Lee’s arm, provoking a deep wound. „Take that idiot!” the captain ordered to his men and, after grabbing the back of a chair, he threw it over SilGi.

The chair hit first the ground, after it chuted on the cement floor and, bouncing, it hit SilGi’s legs, forcing him to kneel.

But… it wasn’t the first time when SilGi was caught in such a dangerous situation: he stood up in a jump and continued to run, pushing the men away from his way, throwing things behind him, and trying this way to make the agents leave him alone.

Trying to turn right and being inattentive, SilGi had been suddenly punched by one of the agents who approached him from in front, and, after grabbing his arm, he threw the young man over the shoulder and when SilGi hardly hit the ground, he howled. But … he hadn’t enough time to cry his pain because the agent who grabbed him, helped by another two, immobilized him and handcuffed him.

Lee and the rest of the team got next to them running, but… seeing SilGi arrested, the captain happily smiled. „Not even the rats get rid of us, boy! Did you think that you are smarter than them?”

„Trash!” SilGi shouted furiously, but he only made the other agents smile who right away pulled him up and forced him to leave the area.

„Now I can easily breathe in!” Kan murmured, approaching Lee who was looking with satisfaction at the other agents that were arresting the other guys from SilGi’s team because he hoped to get „the big fish” this way, the one Gi Hiok mentioned at the beginning of the operative. „So happy with this success?” Kan teased him, seeing Lee smiling and the detective gave Lee a kerchief he took out of his pocket, seeing the wound on Lee’s arm badly bleeding.

Lee, smiling, looked at the kerchief seen in Kan’s hand. „Won’t you take care of me, baby?” the captain joked.

„You are a big boy! You’ll manage it by yourself,” Kan told him in a grumpy tone. After this, he threw the kerchief toward Lee, who grabbed it on the fly, and then, Kan left the captain alone to bandage his wound while happily smiling: he got a new friend. Maybe …a good one.
