《aiAI: Love's Logic》Chapter 8: First for Everything III

"So, in short, these two have spent a stupid amount of time on their profiles?"

"Yes, from what I was able to observe on their phone data, they spend around 10 hours a day on it, although this could have been less when they were living together."

It didn't seem like it, but it makes sense.

I thought as she showed me their accounts. Ms. Daniels commonly took pics around the house as well as the food she'd cook, while Mr. Connor visited a lot of gaming-related groups and posted about his gardening work online.

God, they're even worse than I thought. They're not just annoying, they're also avid Facebook users...Unforgivable.

I thought as Myla continued.

"Not only that, it seems the band on Ms.Daniels' shirt is one enjoyed by Mr.Connor. It seems she does want to return to their own life, and Mr.Connor's exasperation could be a sign of a similar desire."

Wow, she's actually pretty good at this. Though I don't want to tell her that cause pissing her off has become kind of funny to me.

"I see. So now what?"

"Now it's your turn."

"Um, right, what should I say?"

"Sigh, this is your job to know what to look for and tell me."

"Well, at least give me a clue."

"You have all the clues you need in your back pocket."

She said but at first, I didn't know what she meant. I checked my pockets and pulled out the cards Alexandre had given me and looked through them.

"If you're having a hard time figuring out what data to look for, put yourself in the couple's shoes and figure out the issue from there."

That sounds cliché as hell but quite befitting of him.

From what I could tell, the issue for the two was quite simple.

"Well...I guess it's more or less a lack of communication."

"Go on."

"I said it earlier, right? They spend a stupid amount of time online that they forget to talk to each other and resolve issues. Their arguments go all over the place. The girl is extremely conscious about her and her partner's online lives, while he just brushes it off and refuses to listen cause to him, it's unimportant."

"Hmm, we could work with that."

She said with an inquisitive look.

Huh, this is starting to feel like an actual job.

"We have the data we need, but what about a solution?" She asked, but I had a reply more than ready.

"I got a good idea," I said with a confident smile which she answered with an annoyed look of doubt.

Hey, have some faith in me. I promise I'll be a good boy and bend over and lick the execs' boots if they got mad at us. Wait, no, I shouldn't think about licking boots we haven't messed up...yet.

I told her the plan, and for once, she showed a positive emotion towards me.

"That's not a bad idea. You'll have to present it, however."

"It's cool, was already planning to."

I said as I began to open the door.

"And also,"

"Hmm?"

"Remember to apologize, and don't forget why we're here."

"To create and mend relationships, right? I'll try not to mess up this time."

I answered with a confident look, and she returned with what was either a sigh of relief or exasperation.

Well, at least she didn't call out my overconfidence cause I have no idea if this will actually work.

I thought as we walked back into the house. The house looked exactly as we left it, but the warm, welcoming atmosphere was gone, replaced by a dreary and awkward silence.

"Sorry about that. I lost my cool and had to go outside for a bit."

"No, we're sorry, our argument got out of hand, and we did some thinking as well..." Ms. Daniels said with a sad look.

"Yeah... You might be right, maybe this just can't work for us." Mr. Connor continued on.

"No. Forget my previous statement, this isn't about what I think is best, this is about what is best for your relationship, and choosing the easy way out isn't going to do any relationship any good," I said with as much enthusiasm as I could muster.

Hey, I'm starting to sound like a cliché romance MC archetype, kill me now.

I cleared my throat

"We noticed that neither of you has been able to properly communicate your grievances with each other, but also can't reach a compromise when it comes to going online."

They both nodded with an intrigued look on their faces.

"So our solution is this."

I pointed to Myla as she showed them their phones.

"Is that?" The girl asked.

"Yep, it's a shared account for the two of you. We'll give you the password so you can change it later, but for now."

I stood up to seem more convincing.

"This will allow you to share in each other's experiences while also monitoring each other's online lives."

They both let out an Oooooh at my statement, but this wasn't all I had.

"Not only that, but we should also resolve the other issues at hand. Ms. Daniels, you have to be more trusting of Mr. Connor and properly communicate your feelings to him" She nodded with a smile.

"Mr. Connor, you have to listen to your partner more and be ready to have healthy conversations about your relationship, all good relationships are built upon that, and ignoring problems and avoiding talking about them is a sure-fire way to break these bonds." He replied with an enthusiastic nod.

Now for the cherry on top.

"Both of you really do care for each other; if the fact that both of you wanted to just be back together wasn't enough to tell me that, the fact that my partner over here found that 75% of your time on social media was spent browsing each other's profiles told me you missed each other."

I said with the biggest smile I could make, and Myla gave an enthusiastic nod together with me.

So she can act like a partner.

They both blushed at that, and I let out a small laugh.

"Welp, with that, we'll be on our way. Thank you for having us." I said as I nudged my partner, and we both stood up.

"Right, thank you for the refreshments." And we both gave little bows.

"It's no problem, thank you...Really thanks." the girl said.

"We really are sorry for burdening you with such a small issue, but I think that if it weren't for you it could've gotten a lot worse." the guy continued.

"No problem, just doing our job. Well then, goodbye and take care."

I said as we walked out of the house and waved our goodbyes and entered the car.

"For your first time, that was... In all honesty, quite poor."

"Thanks for the honesty...I give them like a month, tops"

"What was that?"

"Nothing"

Honesty is the best policy.
