A couple of things stood out to David with the notification. First, that penalty really sucks. If his math is right, he would be somewhere around level 11 or possibly 12 depending on how the exp really works. Then again he had a feeling it was secretly a bonus. If he had to guess that wrestler was getting two strength points a level and one in the other physical attributes at least. Even if the guy was at half health, David does not think it should have gone as it did.
Unless his suit was a force multiplier like he thought. This alerted him to the fact others could have similar or even better force multipliers. He guessed those cosplayers for fantasy wizards and such got multipliers for magic and the warrior types got the same for their weapons and armor. So that confirmed in his mind he needed at least some of those mage types or better the magic crafters to have a look at his gear. Maybe the two different types of nerds could make something greater than either.
The second point was the assists. Not as much as a kill by a longshot, but nice to know if he winged something he would still get a share.
The final thing he noticed was about duels. If they are pointed out like that then that means they have meant more than just general fighting. Food for thought for the future.

Unlike Mercenaries, PMC normally field larger numbers to act as a private military over long durations. As Mercenaries work from job to job, battlefield to battlefield. {Knight Order}: It is for more than coins you and your people fight. Belief can be a weapon stronger than any weapon.]
David looked at the three choices, as his body was locked up. Beyond the screen, he could see someone throwing a burnt-up ak-47 from the wreck of the van and it was floating in midair. Putting the fact time seemed to have stopped he thought over the choices. Right now he is just some small nobody with power armor. If he went by medieval terms then he was heavy infantry.
What he can picture of a Mercenary in his position is him as the core of a small strike team force. Mainly supporting those in defensive battles. This immediately eliminated the choice in his mind.

PMC was a tempting choice. Finding a more corporate methodology more his pace. Just as easily he could see him losing his most powerful asset to theft and sabotage. PMC were still guns for hire. But he could really see himself behind a desk rather than fighting all the time as well.
Knight Order was a whole new ball game. More in line with what he is picturing what the world will come to be in the next few years. If you need to fix something, go old school. That is why there are thousands that bang the side of their computers or other electronics every day. He could see the Knight Order as the way to keep his advantage the longest. The opposite side of that coin is it had the most restrictions and requirements. He could see himself fighting till the day he died. For people, he did not know. For perhaps a promise of payment, or not even that.
“ For I was a common man, no different from you or those next to you. It was just me and my friends with a dream. An armor to stand in. And then we found ourselves, wardens, for those without protection. And on that day we swore, while we wore that armor. They shall have that protection.”
[Oath made: Protection of the weak.]
“ But I refuse to be a fool. A tool for another I shall never be. Aide I shall give, but never everything. For how shall I protect my own when all the strength meant for them was given to others.”
[Oath made: Of wisdom and compassion.]
“ And for my own. The brother at my side or the farmer behind my back. I shall give everything but my weakness. For they deserve better, and I honor such debts.”
[Oath made: Brotherhood.]
“ And to those that stand against me. To harm what I value. I shall give them everything they deserve. Just, deserved and unbiased.”
[Oath made: Judgment.]
“ I chose to form the {Knight Order} People of the Free Wardens.”

Individuals were chosen and gifted with the ability to use magic and advanced technologies to combat the existential threat. Over twenty-one years later, the so-called “Magical Guardians” are still hard at work keeping the peace. But none of that really matters to Mai, whose biggest problems are dealing with her family, classmates, and the ever growing dread of her imminent future. As far as Mai is concerned, mundane problems are more than enough to worry about, and the idea of magic and monsters might as well be nothing more than daydreams. At least, they were until she finds herself in the middle of an Anathema invasion… A Dark Magical Girl LitRPG with sci-fi elements. Note: Slow burn and gradual introduction of LitRPG mechanics that become a focal point once introduced. Please be aware this story contains intense violence, gore, traumatic situations, and other potentially unsettling content. Chapter One and Two are considered the first “episode” and introduction into the book. As such, they are mega length to allow for uninterrupted reading. Enjoy!
