《dreadnaught: scifi apocalypses space marine》chapter 8: stat info dump

Peace was had between the three factions within an hour. The fantasy and anime people were relieved when the Starship Troopers guys came in and took care of the zombie problem. Unfortunately, there were no other survivors of the Halo presentation. So all the dead were sent there and David was one of the people who was made to carry the dead. At first, he thought the horror show that was the horror presentations would have been the worst of it. But the worst came from the child-friendly area. The psychos started attacking helpless women and children and the ‘child friendly’ heroes and mascots were butchered in mass with them. The worst scene David saw that day was of the pink shirt ‘Bronie’ guy holding what appeared to be a six-year-old girl who had a Princess Sparkle shirt on. She did not have her head.
When his suit power ran low, David decided to call it an early night. He quickly found out there was no food and only a bottle of water waiting for him. After half an hour of removal of his suit, he fell ass naked into a plastic chair in exhaustion and found everyone had something better to do than care for his sorry state. After chugging half the water in a couple of large gulps he grabbed a nearby cleanish rag and covered himself the best he could and did the only other thing he could. He started diving into the menu.
To his surprise, the screen looked different outside his suit than in, but the general function seemed to work just the same.
“ Describe stat characteristics.”
[Welcome to the stat characteristic tutorial.
Here you will learn the basics of the seven main stats and something about the unlocked secondary other stats.
To begin with there are the seven main stats. These are: Strength: The value of muscle mass. These can be subdivided into a multitude of secondary stat values averaged throughout your entire existence. Primarily into Density and Flexibility. As more traits are discovered your stat may go up or down based on the applied effect on the trait to your primary stat. But it will not change the overall result of the stat. System applied stat upgrades increase all features of the stat. Even those hidden. Density: How dense your muscle mass is. The greater this value the more power you can get from your muscles. Flexibility: How flexible your muscle mass is. The greater this value is the more versatile your movements can be. (often affects the basis of agility) Vitality: The value of physical endurance and resistance throughout your entire body. Known stats are Endurance and Immunity. Endurance: How much physical punishment your body can take. Immunity: How resistant to contagens and infiltration your body is. Dexterity: How fluent and quick in movement you are with your tendons. Known subdivides are Fluidity and Precision

Fluidity: How smooth your movement is.
Precision: How accurate your movement is.
Perception: Perception is divided into both physical and mental. These two stats are only effective as the lowest of the pair.
Physical Perception: How fast your body can be made aware of changes, unusualness, or unexpected events.
Mental Perception: How quickly your mind can interpret the information your physical awareness perceives.
Instinct: How you react to sudden unknown changes presented to you. Subcategory into Nerve and Muscle Memory. Nerve: How fast your mind tells your body to react to a situation.
Muscle Memory: How much your body reacts without being told anything from your body. (do note your classes selection effects this stat temporarily)
Intelligence: The ability to learn and retain new things. Subcategory into Learning and Memory.
Learning: How high your ability to learn or relearn information.
Memory: How well you can retain what you learn.
Wisdom: How effective you can use what you know, or try to use what you do not. Subcategory into Speech and Planning.
Speech: How well you communicate with others. Charisma is a subcategory of this category.
Charisma: Your ability to sway the action of others to how you wish.
Planning: How well you can do something beyond instinct. Is required to be sentient and self-aware
Other*: All factors that can not be described by the seven main stats or their subcategories. This grouping contains things such as Luck, Spirituality, Fate/Destiny, Infamy/Notoriety, and Wealth.]
“ Describe Health and Mana.”
[Health and Mana Tutorial.
Health base max is always 100 + (Vitality x 10). Factors such as skills and equipment that artificially increase Vitality only increase the subcategory of Endurance (unless otherwise stated). Which reduces the potential of damage received. Skills and other enhancements increase the body's internal armor as the equipment is considered exterior armor. Internal armor is better at resisting blunt force trauma and recovery as external armor is better against piercing and slashing.

Health recovery is always Endurance/2 per hour.
Mana base max is always 100 + (Intelligence x 10). Factors such as skills and equipment that artificially increase Intelligence only increase the subcategory of Learning (unless otherwise stated). Which defines the recovery rate of mana.
Mana recovery is always Learning/2 per hour.)
Equipment mana stores:
Equipment who have their own mana storage capabilities always have their own regeneration ability. Usually 1/10 their max capacity an hour. Higher tier equipment normally have higher capacity but have even slower recharge rates. Example M134 (soulbound) has a full capacity recharge of 48 hours. Dreadnought armor (soulbound) has a 24 hour full recharge rate.
Equipment mana regeneration and you:
Something extra to note. If any of your equipped items is at max capacity, they will start feeding into passive(mental) skills but can not be used for active(physical) skills.]
David blinked after reading the massive info dump and finished his bottle of water. Having noticed a feeling in his legs again he decided to look for something a little more permanent to wear and relieve himself in one of the restrooms while pondering what happened to the boxers he was wearing before.

The version for sale is revised and expanded anyway, including a rewritten opening. If the book does well, that's encouragement to write more of it soon! Reviews are welcome too. As noted in the afterward, it's been fun and useful to share this work with all of you here as I worked on it. Update 2022/2/22: Wow, it did do well! Thanks to all who read, commented, bought, and/or spread the word. Right now I'm working on a side-story about character Selen, and posting that starting yesterday. I do plan to do a true sequel this year, yet.
