《Storm of Fate》Chapter 3 - Lotia

A smooth seven months passed and I learned to crawl. It was a long and eager process; it took patience and constant hard work. When I first learned, I was ecstatic. Even though it's just a stepping stone, it felt more than that.
During these past months my sister turned five and she had a nice small birthday. For her presents my father got her a necklace. It was silver with a crescent moon charm. The way it shined and danced when it hit the sun and moonlight made me question if it was really just silver.
My mother on the other hand got her a short sword. The blade was silver with a black hilt.
It looked like something I would use, simple and durable. I never really liked flashy things.
My gift though, was the best of all. Instead of my first words being "Mama" or "Dada, " I looked straight towards Myla and said "sissy". Everyone was dumbfounded at first, then they burst into a fit of giggles and laughter. After my sister accepted her gifts with a smile, we had cake, and that was that.
The next few months consisted of me getting used to my new body, and storytelling from my parents.
My father and mother apparently met as "adventurers".
I don't know all the details because both of their stories are different. Mother says he fell for her, and father says she fell for him. By the way they debated, it didn't matter which story was true or not, they seemed made for each other.
Besides all the love and romance stuff, the stories were quite interesting. My father told stories of how he battled with beast and monsters twice his height. Even my mother told me how my father went toe to toe with these beasts.

And apparently my mother wasn't a scrub either. My father's exact words were, "Your mother's swordsmanship was outstanding, she moved around on the battlefield like the wind breeze taking out all the bad monsters in seconds. Yeah, she was good, but she had nothing on your old pops."
In one story he told me how he came face to face with a dragon. Him and the dragon were apparently allies, and they fought side by side
I was shocked by this. In my old world dragons were fake, nothing but fairy tales and mythology, stories from the past.
Here, though…they were real and out there.
Anyways, besides all the stories and birthdays, today was the day. I've been practicing crawling for two days getting the ropes and basics. I'm positive I'm ready.
Mother was outside with Myla teaching her swordsmanship, and my father was cooking dinner. he was too busy to completely keep an eye on me, I made my way to the study room.
I've been in the study room multiple times. When my sister studies, I usually sit on the floor and look around. But every time I tried to grab a book my parents would pull me back and put it away where it belonged, so I never got to read anything. Well, until now.
The room was of medium size, a big desk was stationed in the middle, with bookshelves at the front and the back of the room.
Some days I spent hours just sitting in here, so I knew where to go for the books I needed. I made my way to the back shelf grabbing a book called,
"Lotia Encyclopedia"
It was the first volume of three.
I opened the book to the table of contents.
"8. Continent of Lotia
10. Lunar Mountains

12. Liona Archipelago and Tri Beach
14...
16…."
I quickly turned to page eight and started reading. And soon, all three volumes of the Lotia encyclopedia.
Lotia consists of three kingdoms.
The Thezmaer Kingdom, located in the north of the continent, Delodora Kingdom, located in the center of the continent, and Vintess Kingdom, located in the south of the continent.
In the east of the continent are the Lunar Mountains, which stretch from Thezmaer all the way south to Vintess. All three kingdoms have a part of the Lunar Mountains in their borders, these forest-covered mountains harbor beasts and monsters alike. 75% of the mountains are unknown and filled with dangers.
To the west of the continent is the Liona Archipelago and Tri Beach
The archipelago is not connected to the mainland of the continent, it consists of many small islands scattered around one large island known as Liona Capital. This archipelago symbolizes peace and is not ruled by one kingdom. Every year, the three kingdoms' royal families come together and hold a tournament on this archipelago for the student mages and adventurers to reap rewards, and gain glory.
Unlike the archipelago, Tri beach is connected to the mainland, on the eastern edge of the continent. Like the Lunar Mountains, it stretches from the Thezmaer Kingdom all the way south to Vintess Kingdom, All three kingdoms have a part of Tri Beach in their borders.
Similar to my old world, this world's Kings/Queens passes reign to their son/daughter and so on, but unlike my old world this one has different races like Elves, Gnomes, Dwarves, Humans, and Demies.
The land of Lotia has long since been at peace and you can find all five races all over the continent.
I was human in my old world and I'm pretty sure I'm human in this one, but the other races are new to me. I don't think I've seen any other races from the time I went out either, I wonder what they're like.
It's weird though, this world only has one continent? That can't be right.
Beck Town Is located in the southeast of the Vintess kingdom. So the mountains I've seen in the distance are the Lunar Mountains. We've been this close to dangers and my parents aren't worried?
They must really be bad asses.
Aside from all that, This word also has a really distinct hierarchy. The more rich and powerful you are, decides your rank in society. We might have money for us to live in the small village for some time, but I don't think our family's all that rich and powerful.
I couldn't help but ask myself, will this new family of mine be okay?
Letting the question linger in my mind, I opened the next book.
"Basics of Mana and Magic".

One Eyed Ghoul; a Tokyo Ghoul fanfic.
A for want of a nail fic I write in between moments when I'm working on my original story. Originally posted on FanFiction.net, but brought over here to allow people to compare it to my original work if they wish. The premise is as follows: Hide decides to pay Ken an early visit in the hospital. He cares too much to let his friend recover alone. A tiny change to the sequence of events, an entirely different story. Some bloody scenes, but no worse than the original story offered.
