《Welcome To The Family》Breakfast

I woke up to Gabe shaking my shoulder. I groaned as I dug the heel of my hand into my eyes. Gabe was sitting on the edge of the bed. He had already changed into a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. He ran his fingers through my short hair.
"Good girl," he said. "You didn't get out of bed."
His threat had partially stopped me from trying to get out of the bed. The medication was much too powerful for me to stay awake during the night.
The pain in my head had dulled to a bearable throb. I covered my bare chest with the sheet as I sat up. Gabe put his hand on my thigh and rubbed my leg.
"I need to go home," I said. My dry throat caused my voice to come out hoarse.
"You are home," Gabe said. "Now, let's get you changed."
Gabe got off of the bed and walked over to the closet. He shuffled through an assortment of women's clothes. He pulled out a white sundress, and I recognized it as the dress my mother had bought me for my highschool graduation. They must have gotten my suitcase out of the van. He opened up a drawer and pulled out a pair of underwear.
"Put this on," Gabe said as he set them down on the bed.
I reached out to grab the clothes, but Gabe took my hand. He ripped away the sheet and I covered my chest with my arm. I had no idea what he did to me last night, but I did not want to be exposed in front of him.
"Let go of me," I said.
I pulled my arm away, but he curled his fingers tighter into my skin.
"You need me to help you," he said.
"I can get changed on my own," I said.
Gabe crouched in front of me so that we were eye-to-eye. He kept a hold of my arm and held my jaw with his other hand. He forced me to look at him.
"Listen here," he said. "You need me. You are going to rely on me for the rest of your life. I am going to protect you because I love you. No one else loves you. That little boyfriend of yours you had did not care about you."
The mention of Finn caused my eyes to burn with tears. I was afraid to blink and begin sobbing. I am the reason that Finn is dead. I am the reason he had to go through so much pain. He begged for them not to kill me, but I wondered if he imagined this would happen.

"This is your family," he said. "This is your true family. We are going to protect you from the outside."
He leaned forward and kissed me. I tried to roll my head to get his lips off of mine, but his hold on my jaw was too tight. His lips attacked mine and his tongue swiped along my bottom lip. He tried to gain entrance into my mouth, but I denied him. He rolled his eyes when he pulled away.
I did not want to be naked around Gabe anymore, so I did not fight him as he changed me into the dress. It was odd to be wrapped in a piece of home while in such a forgein environment.
Gabe laced his fingers through mine and pulled me out of his room. I struggled to keep up with his long legs as we went down a hallway and down a large staircase.
Jenny was at the stove, and there were eggs frying in the pan. She looked over her shoulder and smiled at us. Gabe let go of my hand and put his arm around my shoulders. He kissed my cheek. I pushed him away, but he grabbed my neck and pulled me back.
"Behave, Lindsay," he said.
"Let go of me," I said.
I grabbed his hand and tried to rip him off of me. Gabe pulled my head back at an awkward angle.
"Why don't you two have a seat at the table?" Jenny said. "I'm finished making breakfast."
Gabe let out a deep breath and let go of me. I rubbed my sore neck and took a step away. Gabe snapped his fingers and pointed at the dining room.
"Go sit down," he said.
I took another step to the side. Gabe's nostrils flared as he reached for me again. I jumped away and took off running.
I tried to recall the layout of the house from last night. I ran into the hall, and the door came into view. I pushed my aching muscles to try and go faster. My heart was pounding.
Gabe's arms wrapped around my waist. I screamed as he threw me against the wall. He grabbed my arm and twisted it behind my back. A sharp pain ran from my wrist and up to my shoulder. I gritted my teeth.
"Do not run again," Gabe said. He twisted my arm up higher on my back causing me to cry out. "I won't be so nice next time. Do you understand?"

I nodded my head. He yanked my arm up higher and tears pricked at the back of my eyes.
"When I ask you a question, you answer me with words," he told me. "Understand?"
"Yes," I said, desperate for him to let me go.
"Good girl."
Gabe let go of my arm. My shoulder throbbed and I cradled my arm to my chest. Gabe put his hands on my hips and spun me around. His rough hands cupped my face. I held my breath as he leaned in to kiss me. He pulled away when the stairs creaked.
Taylor came down the stairs. He glanced over at Gabe and I before heading into the dining room. Gabe kissed my forehead before he took my hand and pulled me down the hall.
We went into the dining room. The family was at the table eating. Noah was sitting at the head of the table. He looked up when he heard us enter and smirked. Gabe pulled out a chair and then put his hand on my shoulder and forced me into the seat. He sat down next to me.
My knee was bouncing and my fingers were fiddling with each other under the table. Gabe filled my plate full of food. The two boys across the table were staring at me. Dylan looked like he was analyzing me, and I caught Taylor staring at my chest.
"Eat," Gabe told me.
I looked down at the eggs and toast on my plate. Nausea set itself deep into my gut. The thought of eating food made me want to gag.
"I can't," I said.
"Yes, you can," he said.
Gabe put his hand on my knee underneath the table. I tried to push him off but he curled his fingers tighter into my knee.
"Lindsay, you need to stay healthy," Noah said.
"Eat your food," Gabe said.
My hand shook as I picked up the fork. I picked at my food while everyone ate. I struggled to get half of my breakfast down and keep it down. The two boys finished their food first and left the table. After they were all finished, Jenny collected the plates. I set the fork down when Gabe slid his hand off of my leg. Jenny's hand wavered over my plate.
"Do you want me to take it, Gabe?" she asked.
"Okay," he said. He put his hand on the back of my head and ran his fingers through my hair. "You are going to have all of your dinner tonight though."
I nodded my head. Lindsay picked up my plate and carried the dishes into the kitchen. Noah put his elbows on the table with his fingers tented in front of his face as he stared at me. His icy glare caused me to shiver despite the thick humid air. I rubbed my arms with my hands. Gabe continued to pet the back of my head.
"Are you happy to have her?" Noah asked Gabe.
"Yeah," Gabe said. "She's perfect."
"Don't be too naive. She definitely has some things you need to fix."
"I will."
Gabe grabbed my hair and pulled me close to him so that he could kiss my cheek. Noah stood up and gestured for Gabe to do the same.
"Let's get outside," he said. "There's a lot of work to be done and I have a lot to teach you."
Gabe kissed my cheek again before standing up. I watched as the two of them walked out of the dining room. Noah wrapped his arms around Jenny before he kissed her. She giggled before she got up on her toes. He handed her something and she slipped it into the back pocket of her shorts.
I wondered if Jenny was taken like I was. Noah said it was their family tradition, so she must have been kidnapped. It was hard to believe that though. She looked so happy with Noah. She did not look like she was here against her will.
Gabe and Noah left the kitchen through the back door. Jenny went over to the sink and began to wash the dishes. My eyes darted around the house to see that it was just Jenny and I. I may not be able to fight off Gabe, but I think I could take on Jenny.
I carefully got out of the chair so that it did not screech across the floor. I did not catch Jenny's attention. I took in a deep breath before I ran for the front door.
