《Welcome to the Pack (Wolf oneshot book)》Female!Alpha!Wolf x Delta!Wolf!Reader

You were the Delta of a Pack that had a Female Alpha. That's right; she didn't have a mate, either. You had worked hard to show her you were more than capable to take on this role, and after plenty of training and proving yourself, you finally got noticed and put into the role of Delta.
Now, it was usually said that either the Beta or Delta, most likely the Beta, would be the Alpha's mate. The Beta, a male wolf named Cobalt, was still in search of a mate. You had seen how Cobalt had tried to win her over from other males, yet she always turned him down. He was honestly hurt from it, and didn't know whether or not to put himself out there like that ever again. You knew your Alpha was a very independent she-wolf, to which you made sure to stay out of her way because of that.
Today a fight had broken out between Cobalt and another male wolf named Midnight, and you had to break it up. As of now, they sat in front of you, heads down in shame and ears flattened as you scolded them. "What is wrong with you two?! What if someone got hurt, huh? What would you do then?!" You barked. They looked up a bit, almost as if in a search for words. You just huffed. "Midnight, tell me this: why did you pick a fight with Cobalt?" You questioned. The young, black-furred wolf looked up to give you an answer, his yellow eyes narrowed.
"He was messing with Cloud! You think I'm just going to willingly let him tease my brother?!" He responded angrily. This started a whole new argument. You sighed heavily, sitting and looking down. Ever since you got this role, everything was stressful. Of course, you didn't show this to your Alpha, but now it was getting harder to hold it back. "Both of you! You'll scare the pups and wake up the Night Patrols!" A voice growled lowly. You all turned to see none other than your Alpha, narrowing her eyes and baring her fangs at the two.

They whispered, while you just sat and looked at her with a tired look on your face. "Midnight, you will sleep next to the tree at the edge of the camp tonight. Cobalt, I'm going to give you two options: either help with the Night Patrols tonight, or I'll have to choose someone else to become Delta. This is the third time!" She snarled at them. Sleeping by the tree which she described was basically sleeping in isolation for as long as told, but she was right: this wasn't the first time Cobalt has started trouble. The two just nodded before walking off, going the same way.
There were visible growls and you both noticed they kept bumping into each other on purpose. "Boys! Do I have to act like your mother and break you two pups up myself?!" Alpha growled once more at them, to which they just separated. You sighed and looked over at her, a tired wolf-like smile on your face. "Thanks, Alpha." You thanked, to which she turned to you and smiled back. You swore those icy blue eyes could entrance someone, they were so pretty. You just shook your head at that thought.
"You're welcome, (Y/N)! But, no need for you to call me Alpha. You can call me by my name: Cami." You nodded, feeling yourself getting slightly embarrassed. "U-um... Thank you, Alp- I MEAN! Thank you... Cami." You responded. She just smiled at you a little, until she noticed your tired expression. "Oh! You look sleepy. Come- I'll let you sleep in my den. Come on, then." She walked around and began to usher you to her den. You had no choice but to follow, so you hesitantly did.
Once you two got there, you went over to the spot where Cami slept and circled around a few times, eventually curling up and laying down. "Goodnight, Cami..." you whispered as your eyes slowly closed. Cami just smiled at you again, walking up and giving you a lick on the head, almost like a mother and her pup. "Goodnight, (Y/N). Sleep tight." She whispered back as she trotted quietly out of the den, smiling to herself all day.

That night, instead of waking you up, she just curled up beside you and laid her head and front paws against your back, falling asleep while keeping you protected.

A World With or Without Aliens
Nothing matters. It's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact. This is neither good nor bad, it just... is. I watched my entire country burn, fried on a patriotic pan after some jerk fired a bunch of nukes at the docile fleet of alien ships hovering over us. Who gave this moron such power? I don't know. Everyone involved is most likely dead by now. As for me, I can't die. I feel pain like a normal person would (I think), but no matter how terrible the conditions, I will never die or pass out. Fortunately, a lot of alien technology survived its crash to Earth, so I get to spend some time playing with it until Mr. Author gets bored and decides to screw up my life. Beware, this has a "harem" tag. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm the main character and am therefore subject to this novel's timeline. While this bars me from the sweet ignorance of Chapter 1's me, it does have other perks... for example, I can tell you that heroine number one is personally responsible for kil-!? H-hey, back off! I'm your character, so if you didn't want me to be like this, then you should've written me differently! Randomguy here! In all seriousness, this novel is meant to explore the concept of nihilism as a post-apocalyptic/supernatural-scifi/satire told from a nihilistic introvert's first-person perspective. As you heard from my unsettled main character, each heroine is going to be a different type of horrifying socio/psychopath with dark motives and dangerous abilities (most of which are psychological). Why would I do something like this? Because I am, in reality, a nihilist who is often frustrated by weird things, like unrealistically dramatic stories, the industrialization of art (specifically music), and people who think swimming in brown creekwater for five hours is a "fun" activity. Don't get me wrong, neither me nor my character are depressed, we're just malcontents who make a lot of nerd references. I feel like the true essence of an "everything is worthless" perspective is lost on most pop-culture figures. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Rick from Rick and Morty, who is a drunk, angry nihilist that experienced tremendous loss. I, personally, find this belligerent state of mind to be very relatable, and have incorperated it into every chapter's introduction. Here, the main character talks directly to the reader (and me), shamelessly complaining about some semi-relevant facet of society, which probably doesn't make much sense... it's not really supposed to, though. These "angry nihilist" moments are just a peak into the main character's everyday existence, and also act as miniature rage-journals for me. It will sometimes take a subjectively 'positive' turn, but not very often. This is because reality isn't good or bad, "it just... is". I will eventually bring it full-circle to optimistic nihilism, since that seems to be a more practical way to live (and by "practical", I mean "doesn't create mental health issues"). It is, of course, a satire. I did this because most unnecessarily emotional moments or people usually make me feel kind of awkward, so I decided to mock them. That is, I plan to mock the characteristics about them I don't like in characters based solely off said characteristics. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story!
