《Welcome to the Pack (Wolf oneshot book)》Delta!Wolf x Abandoned!Dog!Reader

You never had the best life. Your owners treated you good enough, but they still left you outside, chained up. You barely got food or water, and they sometimes would yell at you for something the cat did. That stupid cat would always try to get you in trouble, to which you hated him for that. Hell, he was the reason you were outside in the first place! But it eventually got to the breaking point of your owners abandoning you in the nearby forest.
Your first instinct was to run into the forest, where no one would find you and to not look back. But, after that, you wished you would've just stayed there. You kept hearing the distant howls of wolves, each making you shiver as chills went down your spine. You weren't sure as to whether or not you were in a wolf pack territory. Either way, you were tying to stay clear of the wolves themselves.
Well, emphasis on 'tried.'
You were busy running through the forest, away from at least five wolves, all chasing you. Their growls and barks only made you try to run faster. As you got past some more trees and shrubs, you tripped over some ingrown roots. Before you knew what was happening you were practically tumbling down the hill, yelping every time you hit a rock or a sharp twig would roughly stab into your skin. Eventually, you felt water all around you, and you opened your eyes to see you were in a river of some sort, the water rushing all around you.
Something inside told you to swim up, to get some air. You forced yourself to use the last of your energy and try to get up to the water's surface, but no matter what you tried, you always got pushed back underneath when trying to breathe. You felt the sudden urge to breathe, but you forced yourself to keep your muzzle shut as everything started to go black. All you saw before you passed out was something jump into the river, swimming towards you.

When you came to, you immediately opened your eyes, forcing yourself to stand. You looked around, and everywhere was unfamiliar to you. "Hello. You have awoken. Glad to see-" the wolf didn't even finish his sentence as you pounced onto him, pinning him down and placing a paw by his throat. "Where the hell am I and who the hell are you?!" You demanded, to which the wolf tilted his head. "Don't you remember? I saved you from drowning."
You only stared at him for a few more seconds before getting off of him, and watching as he stood up straight. His deep brown eyes studied you, your (F/C) fur, your smaller frame and your (E/C) eyes as well. "Your a dog, right?" He questioned, one of his ears pricked up and the other flattened to the side in confusion.
You nodded slowly. "I'm a (Dog Breed). And your a wolf, right?" The last sentence was sarcasm, of course. But it only made him give it a wolf-like chuckle. "Yes, I am. And my name is Kai. What's yours?" You only sat in front of him with an unhappy expression. "My owners gave me the name (Y/N). That's the only name I've ever really had, you see." You then told him your story, to which he listened.
By the end, he seemed both shocked and hurt by what had happened throughout your life. "Well, if that damn cat even thinks about coming into our territory..." he stood upright, growling and digging his claws into the dirt. "I'll tear him to shreds." You smiled at that thought as he claws at the dirt for emphasis.
He turned to you, then, with a serious look. "My Alpha will be back soon, and I don't know how he'll react to his most trusted wolf bringing back a dog..." he admitted, to which you stood, wincing quietly from how much your body ached from your roll down the hill earlier. "Then I'll go. I need to find a place to sleep anyways. Thanks for saving me." You were about to leave when he stopped you.

"No. I'll talk to him. Besides, we can train you, and you can become part of the Pack! That is, if you want." You stared at him in surprise. You thought for a moment before looking up and nodding. "Okay. I'll do it." You only did it because you didn't know how you would find shelter or food. He tipped happily and touched his nose to yours. "Great! I'll go ask Alpha when he returns!" With that he trotted off, happily walking away. You smirked at his happiness.
Maybe this was a good idea, either way. One thing was for sure, though: Kai wouldn't let anyone else hurt you or take you from him. He vowed to himself to protect you forever.

The Lady's Handbook of Intrigue and Murder (High Fantasy Politics)
Summary:The daughter of a dying house is summoned to the Imperial City to meet and perhaps marry a handsome prince. It sounds like a fairy tale. Except Mydea doesn’t have the advantage of a half-forgotten childhood encounter, supreme magic to match the highest echelons of society, or even the privilege of an ally. In order to survive and make a name for herself, she must beat the Imperial Court at its own game. At least no one's tried to kill her—yet. Notes: Basically, if you liked the magic of Harry Potter and the politics of Game of Thrones, you'll probably like this. While the first book focuses on the female lead, and the interplay of competing regional and imperial interests, subsequent books will also cover warfare and how I imagine that differs wildly from historical norms with the introductions of a magical aristocracy. Aspect of the Beast
This story is being rewritten! The new version, A Price in Memory, can be found here. I highly suggest you read the new version as this one won't be completed. Also, there has been a lot of changes so you won't be able to continue with the other where this one left off. A soldier dies on a battlefield, his body broken but his mind at peace. He died for the only thing he truly cared about, his family. In a different world a talented mage completes his life’s work, an entire rebuilding of one of the greatest ancient spells, resurrection. Bypassing the stringent requirements, he attempts to make this great magic accessible to the masses, and by doing so earn his place in history. But lost to the passage of time is the reason for these requirements. Not to unnecessarily complicate this great magic, but to ensure the transfer of only mortal souls. For there are things that dwell in the realm of the dead that should never be allowed to cross over.
