《Freshman》5. Lunch time

The two boys continued talking and walked home.
-This is my place, said Jisung.
-Oh, well, see you tomorrow. It was nice.
-Yeah, it was. See you.
Jisung waved at Minho and entered his building, going up to his apartment.
He lied on his bed, sighing.
He didn't know what to think about this afternoon. He had a great time it's true.
He had to admit it, Minho was really good looking. And really sweet.
And gay. When the thought crossed his mind, Jisung shook his head. "Just because he's gay doesn't mean he likes me." They had only met a day ago. How could he like him anyway?
He turned around, trying to stop thinking about it.
The next morning, Jisung went straight to his first period, not meeting anyone he knew on his way. "You know four people Jisung." he thought. Right.
He saw Hyunjin sitting alone and went to him.
-Can I sit with you?
The tall boy turned his head and smiled at the sight of the blonde one.
-Of course. Hi Jisung, how are you?
-I'm good. How was your first day? he said, sitting down.
-Pretty good. I met another guy, he's nice.
-Oh sweet. Well maybe we can eat together this time?
-Oh yeah, sure! You finish at twelve too?
-Yep.
-Let me give you my number so you can text me when you're in the cafeteria.
Jisung handed him his phone.
-There.
-Thanks!
Jisung was walking in the cafeteria looking around when Hyunjin answered his text.
We're next to the windows, on the left.
Jisung looked up and noticed him across the room.
When he got there, Hyunjin saw him and showed him the seat next to him for him to sit there.
-Hey, guys this is Jisung, and this is Seugmin and Felix.

Seugmin had short dark red hair and a shy smile on his face. The other one, Felix, was a little taller, with blonde hair falling on his forehead, and freckles on his cheeks.
-Hi, nice to meet you.
-Same. You're in English with Hyunjin, right? asked Seugmin.
-Yeah, we met yesterday.
They had kept talking until lunch break ended. They were nice people, Jisung was happy to make new friends.
He was now going out of his last period, walking in the hallways.
He liked his classes so far, they were all quite interesting.
As he walked out the gates, he saw Minho not far ahead. He sped up and got to his side.
-Hey.
Minho stopped and turned his head, surprised.
-Oh hey Jisung. How are you today? He said, smiling as he saw the younger boy.
-Pretty good. I met new friends at lunch. You?
-I'm alright. It was a quiet day. I ate with Chan and Changbin. It's nice to see them again everyday.
-You were busy this summer?
-I worked. And I had dance practices three nights a week, so I wasn't really available.
-Oh I see. I didn't do much to be honest.
Minho grinned.
-Isn't that the definition of holidays?
-I guess so. chuckled Jisung.
After a few seconds, Minho spoke again.
-So... do you have any plan right now?
-Not really.
-Let's go then, I'm gonna show you a cool place!

Having to live with her caretaker, Deidre Love, while she was away from her school—the floating castle of Nightdream Academy, Mena finds her life a lot duller than it used to be. On her thirteenth birthday, she sneaks out against Deidre’s wishes to a magical book festival and learns her favorite author, Melina Penwell has released the latest in a series of romance books: Love Across Dimensions. Mena purchases a copy from a mysterious robed figure before the festival and Deidre’s ranch are both attacked by legions of fiends from Anguish the Blood Siren. Mena is rescued, but Deidre’s fate is unknown, causing grief and self-loathing for the young witch. To distract herself, Mena learns that her Love Across Dimensions book is a magical interactive experience where the reader controls the destiny of the characters within. Not only that, but Fabias the handsome warlock on the cover speaks to Mena, telling her that if she doesn’t like something about herself, or the world around her, she can write within the book to change it. Mena realizes her life isn’t perfect, but it soon can be. All it takes is the touch of a quill. But will her desires to change herself erase the parts that made her who she is? An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
