《(Discontinued) Unexpected (BoTW Link x reader)》Chapter 2

(Your POV)
"I only have one bed, so I'll sleep on the ground."
"Is the bed not big enough for two people?"
Hearing this, you blushed slightly before forcing some words out.
"N-no, it probably can. I just think you'd like a bed to yourself."
He shrugged in response and plopped his bag down next to him.
"I have dinner almost ready if you haven't eaten yet."
That made his whole face light up. He eagerly nodded his head up and down and took a seat at the table. You threw a few more ingredients in the pot, creating a stew. This wasn't your most impressive meal, but you didn't feel like changing your cooking up because of the company. You grabbed two bowls and filled them up with the mushroom and meat stew. Link immediately dug in, slightly spilling some broth over the edge of his bowl.
"You act like you're starving," you say, watching him eat. You put a spoonful of stew into your own mouth, taking your time to enjoy the flavor.
Link finishes chewing his bite before wiping his mouth to respond.
"I ate an hour ago, but this is really good."
"Haha, well thank you! I'm glad you like it."
You both then sat in silence while you finished your meal. Glancing outside the window, you guess it was about 9pm. Today had gone by fast, faster than usual. You glanced back at Link who had finished his helping of stew long before you had. He was digging through his bag, examining each item it contained.
"What's that?" you asked, pointing to a strange horn.
"Its from something called a Lynel. That's what the shieka slate said, anyways."
You stared at him in disbelief for a moment.

"A Lynel?? That big, monstrous, creature? How on Earth did you get a horn from that thing?!"
"I fought it, then kept the horn. It looked cool."
You sat back in your chair just staring.
"What?" He questioned.
"No way."
"What?"
"There's no possible way you could have defeated a Lynel."
"Well, why not?"
"They're huge! They have weapons bigger than you and me combined! Not only that, but they actually fight with thought, not just swinging their weapon. They're insane, you never could have done that."
He frowned at this.
"What, you don't think I could take it on?"
"Not to be rude, but yeah. Not even the strongest in this village can put a dent on one of those things, let alone kill it," you crossed your arms, awaiting a response.
"Huh. I guess I'll just have to prove it to you. Not today, anyway. I'm exhausted." He stood up and stretched, then climbed into bed. You grabbed a pillow and blanket from the closet and settled on the floor.
He should be sleeping down here, not me, you thought. Shaking the thought away, you closed your eyes as sleep quickly came to you.
(Link's POV)
You could here (y/n) slightly snoring in her sleep, but you were still wide awake. Despite this, you were still exhausted. Fighting that Lynel earlier that day had really worn you out. You were pretty close to getting hit by a deadly blow by it, but got out of the way just in time. You had cuts and bruises all across your body. Sighing, you rolled onto your back, staring at the ceiling. Your mind wandered a bit before you finally fell asleep.
You woke up to the sound of a door opening. Rubbing your eyes, you sat upwards, looking in the direction of the noise.

"Good morning, Mr. Link," (y/n) said playfully. "It's already 9, do you usually sleep that long?"
You didn't reply. You looked around your surrounding, trying to remember where you actually were.
"Still tired, huh? It's okay to sleep a bit longer."
"No, it's alright, I should get up," you finally reply. You stretch and walk over towards your bag.
"You're not planning on leaving already, are you?" (Y/n) questions.
"Well, I was, actually. I have a pretty long journey ahead of me."
"Oh, I see." She sounded slightly disappointed.
Seeing this, you immediately blurt out. "If you're lonely here, you could come with me." You then think about what you said. Wait, I can't have her come with me. It's way too dangerous. As you were about to take back what you said, (y/n) happily agreed.
"Really?? You mean it??" She asked.
"Yeah. You can come." You once again thought about what you said. Stupid, stupid! It was too late though, (y/n) had lit up in a ball of eagerness.
"Oh my gosh! This will be amazing! I mean I love this town but really, it gets boring, ya know? I wanna see the world, see what's out there. But where will we go exactly? Well, I guess it doesn't matter, as long as I'll be going somewhere! Oh my gosh, I need to pack. What should I bring? Do we need more food?" She was talking fast, clearly excited about the invite. No turning back now, I guess.
"Just pack what you want. Bring your weapons, if you have any, and any food," you replied. "You have to be prepared for what's out there. Monsters lurk around every corner." You couldn't tell if you were trying to scare her or if you were being playful. She took it as playful.
"Psh, I'll be fine with Mr. Lynel killer on my side," she said with a wink.
