"Dad? Where are you?" You roared, frantically searching for where your father could be. On Ploymus Mountain, your family had made the mountain your home, but fish-like people, called Zoras, were trying to kill you all when they found out, so even if it was your home, it was dangerous to live there. Just a few minutes ago, there was an attack of arrows on the mountain. Your mother had fled while your father was defending your home. He hid you behind a rock and began warning the attackers to go away. Soon, you heard a screech of pain and a thud, and that made you jump up. Knowing it was from your father, you revealed yourself and jumped on the fish people, trying your best to attack them head on. When they left, clearly scared of your sudden actions, you turned to look for your father. When you saw a limp body on the ground, you began panicking.
"Dad! No! This cannot be happening!" You felt warm tears run down your face as your father disappeared in purple smoke. You monsters had a job from Ganon, the bad guy, to be his army and attack everyone in sight. But you just wanted to live normally. Truth is, you were a mix of a hylian and a lynel. Ganon had made you part hylian so you could disguise yourself in the mix of Hyrule's people. You didn't know what to do but cry, since your father is now dead and your mother had run away from your home. You looked around your now arrow-filled home and whimpered. You were now all alone.
Mipha was the Zora Princess, well known by all the people of the Zora. She had learned to fight with a spear and to heal the wounded. She was loved by everyone and was very talented. That's why she was chosen to board the Divine Beast Vah Ruta. She could now protect people and serve Hyrule honorably.
Today, she had heard that more knights were going to attempt to kill the Lynels that had taken their place on Ploymus Mountain, and Mipha had wanted to hear the news right after they came back.
"Princess Mipha, your highness!" One of the guards came running from the east bridge. "One of the Lynels had fled the attack, and one of them stayed behind. We managed to kill one, but a younger Lynel had tried to jump into battle. We fled before any of us were injured any further, but I don't think we could go back up there." The Zora then bowed to Mipha and walked to the nurse's to be treated. Mipha had heard of the baby Lynel that was up there, and decided to go and check it out. Mipha had told her father where she was going, said goodbye to her brother as well, and went off.

On her way to the mountain, she could hear squeals and cries from above. She couldn't help but worry for the Lynel, even though they had wanted to get rid of it for a while.
When she had arrived, she found a baby Lynel with E/C eyes and little horns just crying in the middle of a mountain filled with arrows. She had come close to the Lynel, but held her spear out in case she was attacked. "Are you okay? Why are you crying?" Mipha bent down to be at the Lynels height and hoped that it could understand what she was trying to say.
—————
"Are you okay? Why are you crying?" You looked up to see one of the Zoras looking down at you. You stepped away and tried scratching as a defense, afraid that the Zora might be here to kill you as well. "Don't worry... I won't hurt you." She put her spear down and her hands up. You eyed her suspiciously as you turned into a hylian. You could only speak her language if you were someone who could speak it. To put it in a more simple sense, you could only talk to her if you were hylian.
"Your pack, or whatever you call yourselves, killed my father! Do you know how that makes me feel?" You examined her shocked face. "As you can see, I'm a mix of a hylian and a lynel, born under ganon's control. I'm supposed to be your enemy, I don't know why you're acting so nice." You stood up and grabbed all of the arrows that were scattered along the mountain. "My weak and stupid mother ran away, so I guess I have to find her."
"Oh my, you have quite the tongue for someone your age." Mipha noticed that you were just a mere child, under no ones care except hers. "I can help you find her, if that makes you feel any better about the Zora. I am so sorry about the death of your father, it was just that we were protecting what was rightfully ours, the Ploymus Mountain."
You scoffed. "Do you feel pity because I am a child? I don't need you to help me! I am perfectly capable of doing my own things!" You stormed off, only to come back lost and confused. "I might need some help." You looked down in shame. Mipha giggled in the slightest.
"You are an interesting child. What is your name?"
"What's it to you?" You grumbled in annoyance, just wanting to find your weak mother.
"I- I'm sorry for asking. Let's just find your mother."
"No.. I'm sorry. My name is Y/N." You whipped around and walked away, having Mipha follow you.
—————
After about 30 minutes of scoping the area from the high waterfalls, you found a certain Silver Lynel with the same hair as you. You smiled, then had Mipha stay so your mother wouldn't try to attack her.

"Well uh... thanks for.... yeah. You know, helping me find my mother. She's kind of an asshole for running off, but I guess I forgive her."
"Y/N LANGUAGE! YOU'RE JUST A LITTLE CHILD!" Mipha widened her eyes while you covered your mouth.
"O-Oh..." You both laughed. You then both said your goodbyes and you trailed off to your mother, who was still frightened.
Mipha watched as you walked to your scared mother, who hugged you as hard as she could. You turned back into your lynel form and went away with your mother. Before you left, you turned back around and said goodbye to Mipha, who happily waved back. You two were both interesting to each other, and you definitely wanted to see each other once again. You didn't want to admit it, but you still actually wanted to stay with Mipha for a little bit longer. You swore to Hylia that you would visit her again, back where she lived. Just being you, in your Hylian form.
And Mipha had the same thought. Once you were older, she would visit you once again. One day, she would find you again, and see that you had grown up and was mature. Maybe... You could stay with her, once you were independent. Well, that's what Mipha wanted. Her first encounter with a hybrid, and she never thought she wanted to be friends with you.
She walked away from where she was standing with her trident in hand. She looked back at you once more and saw you still looking back. She smiled, then mouthed the word 'go'. And so you did. She had fulfilled a duty being a champion, saving you and returning you back to your mother.
That one day you both would see each other... Oh how much you both longed for it.
—————
It had been quite a few years since that encounter you both had. You had grown up to be an independent individual, and you were quite talented. When you had met Mipha, ever since that day you had used your Hylian form more often than you thought you would, because it reminded you of Mipha. You actually really missed that sweet voice of hers, and how kind she acted towards you.
So you had decided. Today was the day you should go back and see her. You had already left your mother and been on your own ever since, so why not?
You grinned at this idea, then made your way to the domain that you had seen all those years ago.
—————
Mipha had only been attending to her duties as champion and Princess of the Zora, but didn't realize how much time had gone by since she and Y/N had met up. She didn't even remember how much she had missed them. The day went by pretty slowly, and she was getting quite bored from everything, and decided to have a little break before getting back to work. The thing that she hadn't expected for the day, was that one of her friends was coming to the domain.
"Mipha! I found you!" A familiar voice called out. Mipha sat up from the edge she was sitting on, and faced the entrance of the domain, revealing a teenager with E/C eyes and H/C hair. Mipha had felt a familiarity from the child, yet couldn't put her finger on it.
"Oh! Uh... Hello! Do you need any assistance?" Mipha didn't want to be rude and straight up say that she didn't remember who this individual was, so started up a little conversation.
"Wait... Do- Do you not remember me?" The teen looked down glumly. Mipha was sad to say, she didn't remember.
"I'm sorry, no." Mipha watched as the look on her face had changed.
"How do I put this... I am a hybrid! I lived on Ploymus Mountain and you helped me find my mother!" The child remembered that exact day.
Mipha froze for a moment. It couldn't be...
"Y-Y/N...? Is it really you?" Mipha had a growing smile on her face, seeing as Y/N had matured so well. They actually looked really beautiful.
"YEAH! I missed you so much, and I realized that I could just come here if I wanted to!"
Mipha covered her mouth, trying to contain her tears. Being fragile, she couldn't help but feel strong emotions for her long lost friend. She was so excited that they had come back to see her. "I can't believe you remembered me!"
"Of course! So uhm, now that I came here, is it possible for me to live here?" Y/N had a smile on her face, in hopes that her friend would allow them to stay here as a Hylian. The place was gorgeous, and it had water! You loved swimming around in pools, so this place was basically the perfect environment for you.
"Oh wow! You would like to stay here? How awesome! As a friend, I shall allow you to have your own spot in this domain and you can be here anytime you'd like to!" Mipha clasped her hands together. Y/N's grin was even wider, and they jumped up and down. For being a teenager, you were still quite like a child, which is one of the things Mipha liked about you. You nodded your head up and down.
"Alright! Now, shall we get started?"
