《Breath of Life | LoZBoTW》Unfamiliar Familiar

When they awoke the next morning, the sun was shining brightly through the windows in the Inn. Link had his arm placed gently around Emery along with his body pressed against hers. She finally felt warmth, like the home she never had. Both of them got up and got ready for their journey, not speaking of the events that occurred during the night.
Emery pulled on her silver Hylian Trousers (which were very effective in battle, oddly enough. High protection, good stealth, and for a girl- easy to run around in), her silver Hylian Tunic which got covered mostly by her Hylian hood, and lastly pulled on her brown traveling boots. She had made all her own armor from other types of armor. It was nice, but Link preferred his Champion tunic, which he knew got on Emery's nerves either way. He watched her as she pulled her braid out, releasing her perfect curls to frame her face. How did she do that? She was so gorgeous, yet she had no idea.
They got onto Epona after seeing Impa one last time and headed off towards Gerudo Town. They should make it there by nightfall, according to Link. If they were lucky they would, but between the two of them, sights would stop them at every corner. That would create a dilemma to their main task. They were both thankful the storm had passed. Even if that did mean today was going to be a heavier task of travel due to the mass amounts of monsters.
"Hey, you see that over there?" Emery pointed to an odd looking tree. "I bet we can get a Korok seed over there."
"I doubt it." He replied. She narrowed her eyes at him, not that he would know.
"I bet we will." She said more firmly. He let out a small sigh, rushing Epona in the direction. She hopped off quickly and climbed the tree. Sure enough, there was a Korok seed hidden in the top. She jumped down, where Link unintentionally caught her fall. She released herself from his grasp quickly to avoid any awkwardness and showed him the seed. She smirked at him. "Haven't you learnt? The girl is always right."
He didn't let her see, but he cracked an amused smile. She climbed onto Epona, then looked at him, awaiting him to get on. She didn't mind not controlling the horse. First off, it wasn't hers and she got to enjoy the ride a bit more than him. The world was scenic, and even if it wasn't so bad to be in, she still felt constantly on the edge. With Calamity Ganon threatening to end them all every second of everyday, it made for a very unnerving life. The fact that he killed her parents made her wish vengeance on him every second, to the point where it was hard to enjoy how scenic the world was. To enjoy just exactly what the world really did have to offer.

Soon enough, they arrived into the more sandy region. Here, they approached a small town. There wasn't much going on, so they continued after talking to a couple of the locals. Soon enough, they made it to Gerudo Town. That in which was enclosed in an all rock wall. Climbable, but only if you're a female. Emery laughed at the disappointment on Link's face when they arrived. Apparently he had no idea about that, but how would he if he had no memory of it? She should've informed him...
"I heard there's a guy who got into Gerudo Town by dressing as a woman." She said to Link after they stepped away from the guards.
"Really?" He asked. She nodded.
"They say he walks around here, you just have to spot him. Apparently he blends in with the others pretty well." She chuckled. Link nodded, letting her know he took her information.
"I think I spot him there." Link pointed quickly, then jumped off the horse and ran off. She chuckled lightly as he ran off, and decided to wait for his return to accompany Epona in his leave. After a few minutes, he returned. She began to laugh at him from the start. "Hey-"
"I can't believe you're wearing that." She giggled at him. It was times like these where she was glad to be a female- which was actually quite rare for her to feel that way.
"How else was I suppose to get into the town?" He groaned as he crossed his arms at her. For once, he felt embarrassed. This wasn't exactly how he wanted to look in front of her. Normally he'd be shameless about it, but that wasn't the case with her around. Even if she was just joking around with him, he didn't want to hear her laughing at him.
"I guess you've got a point." She simmered down, but that classic amused smile still laced her lips.
"Come on, let's just get on with it." He said, and thankfully they were both able to enter the town. They found their way to the Chief which was a scary encounter. Her guardian was very rough.
"State your business with Chief Riju." She demanded harshly and even Link seemed intimidated. Even if he was a great warrior, he was still a softy. Emery was amazed at the beauty of Riju despite how young she was. That seemed to be what makes people beautiful, being young. Urbosa was just as gorgeous. So was Mipha, and Princess Zelda. She wished she could be as beautiful, but she wasn't, unfortunately. Not in her eyes.
"I want to tame Vah Naboris." Link stated bluntly, but at least he would easily be taken seriously.
"Ah, you do now?" Riju questioned, automatically intrigued. "Why is that?"
"They're orders from Princess Zelda." He explained and she raised her eyebrows at him.
"Zelda? But aren't all the Champions dead?" She asked. Link shook his head. "You're Link, aren't you?"

He nodded simply. It was like he was a different person. Was he only his true self around Emery? Maybe that was a possibility, but even at times he still seemed closed away from her.
"After a hundred years you've come back to us... and at this time, too. I can think nothing else but the spirits of my ancestors are with us. Vah Naboris is causing a ruckus for my town, and with nothing left to do I must trust you when you say you want to tame him. I also must trust that you can." She explained. Link quickly nodded with determination which showed that he obviously wanted to do so. "Very well then. You may do so, but there's one thing preventing it."
Link gave her a look that urged her to go on.
"A band of thief's stole my ancestors precious heirloom- the Thunder Helm." Something about that name seemed to make sense to Link, surprisingly. "Without that, in his current state, there's no way for anyone to get close to Naboris. I need to ask that you find the heirloom and return it to me."
"I'll do it." Link nodded.
"Very well. If you exit right, you'll meet with our soldiers. From there, the captain will tell you the details of the robbery. You'll set out to retrieve it then." She explained. Link nodded, and the two headed to find out the details of the missing Thunder Helm. From then on, they sought out to recover the heirloom. As they went on, Link could tell something was bothering Emery.
"Are you okay?" He blurted out to her as the carried along.
"Why do you ask?" She replied, not wanting to talk to him. She avoided his big, blue eyes.
"Well, you seem like something's wrong." He shrugged. She remained silent as she heard something. She glanced around, then saw... the Yiga Clan.
"Duck!" She yelled, and Link did so along with her. Three arrows flew over their heads. "Three arrows? I need that bow."
Link watched with amazement as she jumped into battle. He followed after her, but made sure to still keep an eye on her, making sure she was okay. They fought off their enemies and he approached her as she picked up one of their bows. She toyed with it, and saw that by shooting one arrow, two magically appear after it. She opted to keep it, and then continued on the path.
They made it into their hideout, and found the hidden entrance way. It was there that they came across the missing girl the soldiers were talking about. She told Link to keep going because she could take care of herself, but she was rather nice to Emery. They spent the rest of their time sneaking around the Yiga Clan's hideout. They were just that dumb that they would never know Emery and Link were there. They made it into a room full of treasure in which they both looted most of it. Now, they didn't know where to go. They were at a loss, but suddenly something sparkled in Link's eye. He pulled out his Sheikah Slate and used magnesis to open a hidden door. They both stepped out, taking a look around. There appeared the Yiga Clan leader. Once again, the two used their teamwork. As the dumb leader tried to use his magic, Emery stood back and took a shot at him. He would drop whatever he was holding onto his head, making him fall to the floor so Link could get many hits on him. They continued that until it seemed like he was finally through... He stood back up and began talking about how he was going to use something on them that they would in no way be able to defend themselves against. He pulled out a big boulder and they watched as he wasn't paying attention, and the spiky ball rolled onto him. He fell into the empty hole, yelling about something. They didn't pay any attention to as they discovered the chest. Link opened it to reveal the Thunder Helm.
As they walked back, their path was simple. The Yiga Clan had cleared out after their master was destroyed. No monsters were in their way, it was just them traveling back to the town in what seemed like an uncomfortable silence. "Emery?"
"What?" She asked as she looked over at him. There was a sadness in her eyes, and he wondered what it was. Were the after effects of her nightmare still terrorizing her?
"Are you okay?" He inquired once more, staring at her with concern. She shrugged.
"I'm fine, why?" It was obvious something was bothering her, as she nervously scratched away on her arm. He gently pulled her hand away, preventing her from hurting herself worse.
"Will you please tell me what's bothering you?" He begged, and she couldn't resist his face. Quickly, she looked away.
"It's not a big deal, okay?" She said, and walked ahead of him. He frowned, but nonetheless followed her. Proceeding with his natural order and duty to keep the lady safe. She was a lot like what he remembered of Zelda. She took her frustrations out on him and herself accidentally. Not to mention the fact that she didn't think much of herself. He wouldn't compare her to Zelda because he didn't know her as well as Emery, but he knew they were similar. He wondered if it was a coincidence, him meeting Emery. Did she really have a destined place in this battle, or did he just pick her up along the way coincidentally?

Generic Zombie survival Wuxia Cliche story
Same old same old. Zombies attack. Zombies Evolve. Humans evolve. Humans gain superpowers. No deep plot, no plot planned out at all actually. Writing it as I go and because I'm a sad boi trying to use stories as a form of escapism. Not going to proofread, not going to check for grammar or anything. Will definitely read like a machine-translated Chinese amateur web novel. Have a nice day. (The cover is from one punch man, no this is not a fanfic) (I don't actually plan/think anything in this will be too gory or "traumatizing" but since its a zombie survival story I thought I might as well add it, plus the fact that the MC does some pretty messed up stuff. He's the stereotype Wuxia villain so to speak, expect competently and not dumbed down to make the hero look smart.) I will add warnings in author notes before chapter starts if anything particularly "gory" or trigger events happen.
