《Breath of Life | LoZBoTW》Divine Beast Vah Naboris

Upon making it back to the town, the two hero's returned Riju's precious family heirloom. She was beyond overjoyed to see it in one piece. "I had no doubts in you, Link. Thank you for returning my heirloom safely."
Link glanced over at Emery to see her frowning. "I couldn't have done it without Emery." He explained. Riju smiled graciously.
"Consider us forever in your debt, lovely warrior." She replied, and Emery nodded to her silently. They watched as Riju put the helmet on. It tipped off her face a bit, but she readjusted it. "How does it look?"
"A little big." Link replied, a little rudely. Emery nudged him with her elbow and narrowed her eyes at him. If that guard had heard him disrespect the Chief like that...
The small, but strong girl let out a sigh. "You're right. I'm not quite old enough to be the Chief, but I feel an inexcusable duty to my people. I must do this for them. I've already proved myself irresponsible for losing this thing in the first place. Thank you, again, for retrieving it."
"Of course." Emery replied. She smiled brightly at her after removing the helmet.
"Now, here's what we must do. Naboris is running around the desert, stirring up a harsh sand storm. To stop him, you must shoot bomb arrows at his feet. That will make them remain in place. From there, you can board him. That part is up to you. I will help you by wearing the Thunder Helm but you must stay in my vicinity at all times to refrain from harm of his lightning strikes. After that, the rest is up to you. Sound like a plan?" She asked. Emery and Link nodded quickly at her. "Wonderful. The archer will get a sand seal to use in the battle."
"That's me." Emery nodded. For some reason, hearing what Emery had to do made Link ill. Nonetheless, they continued on. They met Riju after getting their sand seals. Before they began, she asked for a little space. Link was going to stay behind anyways, while Emery and Riju performed their task. Then they were going to get him close enough to board the beast. Riju sent out a prayer to her ancestors, which granted her power to use the Thunder Helm. From there, Link felt uneasy as he watched Emery head off into the face of danger. She came out successful, the task being simple for her archery skills. Link rushed over once Naboris was down. He jumped on, and pulled Emery on too. It was a close call, but they made it.
The puzzles this time were more difficult. They heard Urbosa's voice when they stepped in. "After a hundred years, you still came to my rescue. I knew we were going to meet again. You'll need a map of this place if you want to take back Naboris. It's good to see you brought Emery along, too."
They made their way to the first terminal and got the map of Naboris. They discovered they could rotate his insides to help them solve the puzzles. It was tricky to do, with the Divine Beast walking around with them inside and all. Before they knew it, though, they had solved all the puzzles. "I knew you could do it, Link. Head to the main control unit to take back Vah Naboris from Ganon's control. But watch your back."
Link glanced at Emery to make sure she was ready for this. She nodded, and again he attempted to place his Sheikah Slate to the control unit. When it didn't work, he instantly stepped back, pulling her back with him. They watched as another beast formed. Thunderblight Ganon. They got at it as soon as they could. It was one of the hardest battles they fought so far, but eventually they made it through. Not without someone getting injured. Emery got knocked back by one of his blows. This angered Link, to the point where he finished him. Emery was fine for the most part, she'd gotten hurt before but never like this. Still, she continued on. She pushed herself up, just as Link rushed over to her. He put a supporting arm around her. "Are you okay?" He asked urgently.

"I'm fine." She replied weakly. This wasn't all that bad, but she was exhausted now.
"Are you sure?" He asked as he looked her over. She nodded once more, and he took control of Naboris once again. There appeared Urbosa's spirit.
"Thank you, Link. That beast was my demise over a hundred years ago. I knew you'd come back and save Hyrule. We may not have a hundred years ago, but now it's our time. You know, Ganon once took the form of a Gerudo thief, so I can take this personally now." She smiled with the corner of her mouth. Her hand remained strongly on her hip. "Since I'm a spirit now, this will no longer do me any good. I want you to have this."
Link took on Urbosa's fury.
"This will help you in the fight against Calamity Ganon. Naboris and I will be by your side, too." She grinned at him. Then she looked over at Emery. "Even if Link is the appointed knight and the hero chosen by the Gods, he still couldn't have done this without you. This is what it takes to be a Champion. We're all in debt to you."
Emery nodded gladly, and they were teleported out of the Divine Beast. They watched as Naboris took his spot upon one of the high mountaintops, and shot a bright red beam out at the castle, all at once. Just as Ruta did. It was a strangely comforting feeling. They were half way to winning this battle, and now Emery wasn't having any doubts at all.
With this newfound victorious feeling, Emery ignored her pain. It was simple to do, and she did it quite often. Even if that pain was just mental pain, it hurt just as bad as physical pain.
Link turned towards her, giving her a worried look. "What?" She questioned.
"You're hurt." He muttered, mentally cursing himself for not taking better care of her.
"So? It's a simple price to pay for what we just did. Link, we're halfway there. Two more Divine Beasts and we have this whole thing in the bag." She grinned, but didn't receive one back from him. He let out a small sigh, and began to walk in the other direction. Her eyebrows knitted together in confusion, but nonetheless she followed after him. Her body hurt a bit all over, but the euphoria she felt distracted her from it. They went back to Gerudo town, where Chief Riju sat, pleased.
"Link, Emery! I'm so thankful to see you alive, though I knew you'd both come out victorious. Gerudo Town is forever in your debts. Thank you for everything you've done for us. I just know the spirit of my ancestor was with you, guiding you along. Wasn't she?" Riju asked, and Link nodded. She grinned with content. "I just knew it. I wish you luck in the rest of your demanding tasks to tame the last two Divine Beasts. Although I know this won't repay our debts, I want you to have these items. They were Urbosa's."
Link stepped towards the chests, opening them both. He got a weapon and a shield that was once Urbosa's. As she watched, she could tell something triggered inside him. He felt something towards those that use to belong to her. Being as nosy as she was, she had to ask him about it later.
They exited Gerudo Town, and the long day was coming to an end. The moon was coming up as the sun was going down, and at least it wasn't a blood moon. She followed Link and they retrieved Epona and set out for their next location, Death Mountain. More specifically- Goron City. They were still silent, through everything. Emery could never find a decent time to speak, and it seemed Link didn't want to speak anyways. She was beginning to completely feel the extent of her injuries, but she wasn't that bad off. She could handle it, she just wished she could rest for the night. Still, she said nothing to Link.

Before he knew it, she was leaning closely to him. He wondered why, she didn't seem too fond of them being as close as they were the previous night. All he was trying to do was make her feel safer and more comfortable. He slowed Epona down, and turned to look behind him. She was completely laid against him, breathing softly. She was asleep. He shook his head to himself as he wondered how anyone could fall asleep on a horse. He knew now that he should've stopped somewhere for them to rest long ago, anyways. It was obvious she was injured to the point where it wasn't just the case of ignore it and it'll get better. He cursed himself for being so stupid again, and rushed Epona off to find some shelter. He kept one hand close to her, just to make sure she didn't fall off.
Eventually, he came across an abandoned home. It wasn't so much abandoned as it was just currently vacant. He checked around one more time, and it seemed absolutely no one was around. He didn't feel bad about borrowing someone's home for the night. After all, he was the one saving the world anyways.
He gently climbed off Epona, and pulled Emery off. She surprisingly weighed more than she looked. Maybe it was just dead weight, since she was asleep. He carried her bridal style into the home. Before he could get her in, she started to awake. She placed her hand on his chest, which made his face and the tip of his ears burn. "Link..?" She mumbled sleepily.
"Yeah, it's me." He said reassuringly, placing her down onto the bed. It was a king, but he would sleep on the couch. He wondered what to do now... Should he take her dirty clothes off of her? She probably wouldn't appreciate that. He sighed, as he was at a loss. As he was standing there, she sat up.
"Where are we?" She asked as she looked around. Her surroundings were unfamiliar, which frightened her, but with Link's presence she knew everything had to be okay. He had that affect on her.
"I rented a house for the night..?" He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. She was silent, but nevertheless went on with whatever she was doing. He let out a breath of relief.
"Is there a shower?" She asked, looking more awake now. He nodded and she stood up, almost toppling over. He rushed to steady her. "I'm fine," she muttered, even though she was getting rather dizzy. She must've only stood up too quickly. He let go of her as she pulled away from him, not wanting his help. She went through her bag, finding clothes to change into after her shower. She rushed into the bathroom, shutting the door after her. She stripped out of her tight armor to reveal her wounded body. She chewed her lip nervously as she realized just how badly she was hurt. There were bruises all over her, and still visibly open wounds. She knew this shower was going to burn, but it was all fine. It was much less than her parents suffered, than anyone else in Castle Town during the unleash of Calamity Ganon. She had nothing to be complaining about, she was alive and that was all that mattered.
She climbed into the shower, feeling the warmth hit her body. As soon as it did, she had to bite hard onto her lip to keep from crying out. It's okay, she thought, this will help to clean the wounds out, even if it does hurt. So she continued on with her shower, washing her hair and her body. Eventually the wounds didn't hurt anymore. Her body was sore to the touch, though. She didn't think she'd ever been hurt this badly, but it was really nothing compared to what everyone else had suffered. She was so exhausted, but she didn't know if she was going to be able to sleep tonight. She didn't know how Link went into those battles with a fearless look on his face. How was he not scared of those... things? Of Ganon's creations? Emery was terrified, but her crave for revenge helped her through every time.
She eventually climbed out of the shower, drying herself gently off with a towel. She pulled on a regular t-shirt and a pair of shorts to sleep in. She realized a couple of her wounds were still visible even with her clothing. There was no way Link would pay that much attention or care about it that much so she didn't worry about trying to cover it up better.
She looked in the mirror one last time. She tucked her icy blonde hair behind her pointy ears. Placing her hands on the counter top, she leaned forward. Giving herself a good look. No matter how hard she tried, she didn't like what she saw. And still, she was battling herself about how she'd never amount to anything, unlike Link. He was the hero. People would never address her the way they do him. They don't recognize her, not even under her hood. Unlike how Riju recognized Link under that spot-on Gerudo vie disguise. She wouldn't ever be able to compete with Link, and it made her sick that she wouldn't ever be able to avenge her family like they deserve. All that was mirrored back to her was a failure that couldn't even bother to look nice every once in a while.
