《Sirens in Seattle》{chapter 3}

I woke up earlier this morning than I usually did and It definitely felt like it. My eyes were half closed as I somehow made my way to my bathroom.

I mentally winced at how hard I was dragging my own feet across my hardwood floors.

I had revived an email from my first class's professor last night that he wanted us there an hour early to try and make up some of time missed from yesterday. Missed time that was his fault and not mine.

I looked in the mirror and groaned at how not put together I looked. Morning hair was my absolute enemy, as my curls and waves tangled together in what seemed like an unfixable mess.

I tried my best to finger comb through the knots and I overall ended up just leaving it down . Keeping my hair out of my face was extremely important as had to take a million notes a second. That and I didn't want to have to actually brush and straighten my hair out, so I usually opted for an updo, but today was not one of those days and I was too lazy to have to feel a heavy bun resting on my head all day long.

I applied my normal makeup, this time actually going in and adding a red lip, and exited my bathroom to find another outfit to wear, all while forcing my eyes to stay open and not smudge my mascara since my face was still damp from setting spray.

Since it was still low 50s, and I wanted to look presentable and stray away from leggings,I pulled on my black high waited jeans that were snug in all the right places and thick white cream sweater that was an upgrade from my normal plain long sleeves.

I didn't feel like I had time for breakfast so I looked at my kitchen longingly as I slipped on my black water proof jacket and pair of rain boots.

I let out a loud yawn that turned into a whine as I was locking the door behind me and spared one last glance at my kitchen as did my stomach when it growled.

Coffee sounded magnificent along with a breakfast sandwich.

The weather had a chill to it but it wasn't raining so I was thankful for that, and kind of annoyed I picked this day to wear rain boots, slightly hoping it would rain later.

The whole ride over there that stupid ticket was glaring at me from the passenger seat, making me relive my conversation with my dad yesterday.

"Amelia, this is unacceptable and you know you! Do you want to get your license revoked?" He argued.

"Dad, honestly it's ok , it's just a stupid speeding ticket." I laughed back while checking myself out in the short lace black dress I was trying on.

"Excuse me no it's not. Your not creating a good name for yourself with such a record like this. Not to mention your not the one paying for these." He retorted.

I rolled my eyes so hard I hoped he felt it through the phone.

"K dad I'm sorry. Alright? I'll be more careful."

"Good now to discuss your classes-"

"Bye dad! I have a lot to do with school and stuff gotta go!" I quickly said as I went back to seeing if I preferred this black dress or the previous red one I tried on.

Most college kid's parents wouldn't think getting a speeding ticket was the end of the world. Then again most college kids didn't have my dad, and me ignoring him would not last long.

I pulled into my campus parking lot early for once so I took my time getting to the wing I needed to be in.

I entered the large room, it was way too large as it only hosted about twenty kids per class.

The special thing about this wing was it was glass. Or plexiglass. The walls went high and wide and allowed the students and teachers to see anything going on outside.

I sat in the front of the room, my usual spot while I waiting for the rest of class to fill in. Now seeing how early I actually was, I really regretted not making my coffee or grabbing a quick bite to eat.

A bagel with cream cheese was really calling my name.

Minnie came in a few moments after me and smiled happily when she saw me.

"Saved you a spot" I told while I moved my bags over so I could sit.

"Oh my god Mia, I met this guy last night and-" she began to dive into her night adventures along with every single detail that made her night amazing.

Minnie was not someone who'd you'd expect to be pre med, since we both had our moments of being exceptionally confused. Well neither was I guess but maybe that's what makes us friends. The girl hardly ever studied and asked the most random questions in class but she still managed to pull straight As. She had blonde hair which was always curled and down and bright blue eyes. Her body was perfect, and she took pride in how healthy she always ate . Minnie was fun and lively and always down for a good time. She made everyone feel welcome and tended to try and take people under her wings.

I could honestly picture her walking down a run way somewhere nice like Bali next to my sister Ellie.

She was cut off by our professor starting the class.

"So this Saturday? I'll stop yours and we can get together and get ready?" Minnie asked as we walked out of the building after a very long an intense lecture.

"Yes please. I'm dying to get my mind off anything school related." I told her while throwing my purse higher on my arm, juggling the weight of the books.

"Ok good, well I'm off to go meet Jeremy!" She informed me as we split our separate ways. Jeremy was her dream guy from last night, and current boyfriend kinda sorta. Then again that girl always had a new kind of sorta boyfriend.

I made my way back to my usual cafe, to grab some lunch before I had to run some errands such as grocery shopping and deep cleaning my home.

I ordered myself a grilled panini with a hot chocolate. My mouth was literally watering as I ordered it. It made me realize how I really needed to start eating a healthy, balanced diet.

I set my books in my usual table and was going through my phone when I looked up to be met with a guy ordering.

He was bluntly starting and I gave him a look, hopefully to make him turn back around but he didn't.

After I stared back for a while trying to place my finger on his familiarity,I realized it was the officer from the other day who wrote me the ticket and was rude to me for no apparent reason.

And now he was in the same cafe as me.

Out of instinct I rolled my eyes at him and hoped to make him turn away.

He stare didn't lighten up and it started to weird me out so I looked back down to my phone in attempt to ignore him.

That ended up being impossible when he came and sat at the table right aside to mine.

"Do I know you from somewhere?" He asked in a bored tone.

It took me a second to realize he was talking to me. I looked back up and glared at him.

"You have me a ticket for speeding the other day." I marked back, praying he'd me leave alone. I couldn't stand his aragont attitude that oozed off him in waves, and I couldn't hold my tongue forever.

He narrowed his eyes trying to remember when a light bulb went off in his head. "Amelia?" He asked with a big stupid cocky grin which was a change form his resting bitch face.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh wow you have a good memory, great for you." I chastised.

I flipped my front camera towards me to make sure my curls were somewhat still in place, and another attempt to look busy infront of this ass.

He crossed his feet in front of him and kept smiling. "No need to be like that. I was just doing my duty of -"

"Being and asshole?" I finished his sentence for him, a little harshly and I felt odd speaking so bluntly to a police officer.

His smile faltered but not for too long as a smirk replaced it.

I couldn't help but let my blood boil at the fact he enjoyed my annoyance. The fact he was cute didn't help because it was bound to make me stumble on my words eventually.

"Is that any way to talk to an officer of the law?" He said amused.

It irritated me to no end how he such an ass, but he was a hot ass. Maybe that's why it irked me so much. The hot ones are always asses it seemed. I decided it was in mine and his best interest if I ignored him.

I opened one of my books and began to skim it and it stayed quiet for a few moments. I no longer looked at him, well I took a quick peak at his badge to see it read 'Officer Phoenix Adams'

I scoffed to myself. He was the the complete opposite of the legend of the Phoenix.

"Something funny Amelia" He joked while emphasizing my name, probably having caught me sneak a peak at him.

I gave him one last eye roll and stood up. I swear I rolled my eyes so much in such a short period of time I gave myself a headache.

If he wasn't going to leave then I was going to. His attitude was past my last nerve and I had half a mind to call an anonymous complaint in on him from a payphone.

"Why are you leaving so soon?" He asked and I just shook my head.

I couldn't help myself as I was outside of the coffee shop and seen him still staring with a look of pure amusement. I raised my right hand and flipped him off before turning my back.

I threw my stuff into the back seat my car before getting in the driver side.

The rain began to pick up as I was headed home.

I was so ready for a night out.
