《The Gifted ( +1 Megan )》The Answer

As it turned out, most of the other students came up with pretty much nothing. Wave didn't even show up. Even though Megan only met him a few days ago, she could tell that this wasn't ordinary behaviour for him.
"That's enough for today," Mr. Pom said. "Don't forget my question about why you are here. Those who know the answer..."
Megan and Pang both raised their hands.
"Megan?" Mr. Pom asked. She stood up.
"I was thinking about how the test was interrupted with that loud sound, and how no one else seemed to know about the last question. I did some research on how sound can stimulate the brain. Most of the information I found was related to medical issues, but I'm thinking the reason we're here is related to that."
Mr. Pom smiled. "You're on the right track, great job. However, that isn't quite the answer I'm looking for. Pang? Do you know the answer?"
Megan sat back down. Pang stood up and began to speak. "No, I don't. But I know that the Gifted Program is very special. It really is."
Ohm looked up at him in a mixture of what Megan thought was interest and confusion. Pang continued,
"I've got many things that I didn't before....but at a cost of many other things. I know I'm not suitable for it. I don't want to lose things that are important to me."
Mr. Pom interrupted him, "Pang, I know what you're trying to say. But believe me, I want you to find out why you're here. Then you'll understand everything."
Pang sighed. "That's not necessary."
"It is. It really is," Mr. Pom insisted.
"Why? I don't want to be a Gifted student anymore. Why would I need to find out the answer?" But before Pang could continue, the door swung open. Everyone turned to look. Wave was standing in the doorway.

"Don't you get it?" he asked, entering the room. "What will happen if you don't find out?"
Megan frowned. What was Wave talking about? What could happen?
"I can tell you, so you know. You can't go back now," Wave continued, walking slowly towards the front of the classroom. He pulled out a paper. "Why are you in the Gifted program? The answer is........we are becoming extraordinary."
He pressed his hand to the computer next to him. Images started flashing and glitching. The projector turned on and filled with more glitching screens. The lights started turning on and off. Megan stood up, looking around. How was this possible?
Wave yelled as it went full out crazy. Then all of a sudden, everything returned to normal. Everyone in the room turned to look at Wave in shock. He took a few deep breaths.
Then he turned and asked, "Mr. Pom.......what have you done to us?"
