《The Godfather {Being Edited}》¤Chapter Nine¤

Euphoria crumbled on her bed. She had been so busy with school and talking to David in order to ensure that everything was truly under her name. She had come from seeing him after class. He had done a huge favour of paying for her cab to get home since she had to carry her backpack and the box of personal items her uncle had left her. The box also contained the address to his tombstone which she planned on visiting this weekend.
She hadn't seen Demetrius ever since the day he made her dinner. Even though she hadn't seen him he made sure to text her everyday. It had always put a smile on face. Euphoria knew that he couldn't text her all day which explained the time gaps between their texts.
With a loud groan she got up from her bed to go take a shower. Despite not wanting to get up at all she knew she had too if she wanted to go talk to Jamal before the club was in full swing. Plus Euphoria hoped to catch Tasha before her shift.
Once she has showered and lotioned up Euphoria wore her matching set of black lace lingerie. She wore black fitted ripped jeans, green crop sweater and heeled boots. She put her hair up in a messy bun before accessoriesed with her uncle's brown leather watch, her star shaped silver earrings and a few black and silver rings. She left her face bare of any make-up and placed her clear hearing aid on. After putting on some perfume, stuffing her phone in her pocket and grabbing her handbag she left out her apartment being sure to lock it.
By taking a cab Euphoria got to the strip club within thirty minutes tops. It was better than taking the train in her opinion and the long tiresome walks. When she walked in the early birds who had the newbies and least popular strippers were on the floor. She saw one of the other bartenders at the bar. Euphoria made her way all the way to the top floor where she knew Jamal's office was located. Along the way she passed a few strippers who gave her looks. They must be the ones from the night I collapsed. She remembered Tasha telling her about a few strays who wouldn't leave when told too.

"Ah, what can I do for you Euphoria? How's the ear?" Jamal gave her an all so welcoming smile.
"Hi Jamal. My ear's good, thank you." She gave him a small smile. "I came to tell you not to expect me at work."
"And why not?" He arched his brow.
"Well I'm going into finals soon and all the money I've gathered will last me for a while. I know it's short notice and I do apologise on my part. I know many people who need a job and wouldn't mind refering them to you." Euphoria said.
Jamal sighed. "I hope they're as pretty as you. You were really reeling them in kid." He chuckled as he shook his head. "And here I was about to give you a promotion when you got back."
"Really? I'm so sorry for the inconvenience that I may have caused you."
"It's alright. I'm glad you're focusing more on school. Society needs more smart women like you out there. I wish you all the best, alright?"
"Thank you so much. And thank you for understanding." She said as she stood to her feet.
"It was nice knowing you."
"And it was nice working for you, you're a good man Jamal."
"I try." He chuckled as they shook hands.
"Hey is Tasha here?" She asked him. "She's mad at me because I went to the library without telling her."
"Oh I know. She vented to me about it." He chuckled. "She said she was going to the bathroom just before you came in."
Euphoria thanked him and bid him goodbye. Just as she made it to the main floor she spotted Tasha walking towards the bar. Euphoria quickly rushed up towards her and fell into step with her.

"Hey Tasha."
"Euphoria what are you doing here?" She asked as she stood behind the bar while she stood on the other side. "You aren't supposed to be here until Monday."
"Yeah about that." Euphoria slipped onto the bar stool. "I won't be working here anymore."
Tasha tensed at this. "And why not? Demetrius D'Agostino dičking you down that good to make you quit your job?"
"What no?" Euphoria squinted her eyes at her. "What the hell is that supposed to mean Tasha?"
"Well I notice the gaurds he has on you."
"What gaurds?" She frowned.
"So you haven't been seeing Demetrius?" Tasha asked with an arched her brow.
"No I haven't." She lied calmly. There was something stopping her from sharing whatever she has with Demetrius with someone. "Why the hell would you think that? I barely know the guy. You're the one who said I should stay away from him. And plus didn't you practically throw warnings at me that he's only after a fučk buddy. "He's exploring", is what you said to me remember?"
"I don't know alright?!" Tasha snapped. "Maybe it's because you ghost me for a day and a half then don't bother to check in on me!"
"You know what I don't need this." Euphoria stood to her feet. "I came here to formally apologise to you but you throw everything back into my face." She adjusted her handbag on her shoulder. "And I also didn't call you back because you hung up on me remember? I thought you needed time to cool off." She shook her head pinching the bridge of her nose. "Until you get your shít together don't bother reaching out alright?"
Euphoria didn't wait for her response before she exited the club and quickly hailing down a cab. Huffing she told the driver her address before sitting back with a frown on her face. She couldn't believe Tasha would blow up on her like that. Not once but twice now. On the same matter. Something in her gut told her that Tasha knew that she was out with Demetrius for the day. How? She doesn't know and couldn't careless. Clearly it upset her above and beyond for some reasons that Euphoria herself couldn't even undertand.

"Hello?" She answered the phone without checking the ID caller as she blew at her painted toenails.
"Tesor." Demetrius grunted.
"Demetrius hi, are you ok? You don't sound well." She frowned as she adjusted the phone on her ear.
"You're home, yes?"
"Yes why?"
"Come to the door."
"Alright just give me a minute." She said before she got up carefully and quickly walked to the door.
Euphoria swung the door open with a smile plastered on her face only for her smile to drop and panic to capture her entire body.
