《The Cop Who Loves Me...A Teenager》chapter 47

Autumn's POV
"So Mason left yesterday?" Lucy asked me, disappointed.
"Yep." I answered simply, while I was baking the wedding cake...yep I'm baking the wedding cake. I really love baking and since it's too late to have a caterer do it, I have no choice. Im making a 3 tiered cake...the 2 outer cakes are vanilla and the tier in the middle is chocolate. All of the tiers will be covered with white frosting and then white fondant in top of that. Thenpipe going to put rainbow flowers on it and make it look like they're cascading down the all 3 tiers. And then maybe I'll add some butterflies to it...spends how much time I have left and what else needs to be done.
As you can tell, I really didn't want to talk to Lucy. I'm still angry about the whole baby situation. I should be mad at Brody too, but I'm not for some reason. I guess it's because it a few days before the wedding and because I love him too much.
"Do you need any help?" Lucy asked, hopefully.
"No."
"Autumn, I really am sorry about everything I've done. But I'm so grateful that you and Brody decided to take care of my baby.". She paused hoping I'd respond, but no luck. "Please, can you ever forgive me?" she pleaded, almost starting to cry.
I put down the spatula I was using to mix the cake batter with, and turned to face her. "I honestly don't know, Lucy. Maybe I can one day, but today's not that day. You almost came between me and Brody twice already." I explained, frustrated with her.
"I know and I'm sorry. What I did was wrong on all levels. I promise, I won't try to get between you and Brody, intentionally, ever again. I really am happy you two are getting married, Autumn." she said. I knew she was being truthful because of the look on her face.

I sighed. "Get an apron. You can start mixing the chocolate cake.".
A smile appeared on her face. "Thank you" she said and then got an apron out of the closet. She returned and started mixing the chocolate cake. "Autumn? Do you think Mason will ever forgive me?"
"I don't think so.". I answered honestly. "You really hurt him. I honestly don't think he can forgive you and I certainly don't think he's going to change his mind about the divorce.". I paused. "I'm sorry Lucy. That was mean of me to say.". I apologized after I realized the tone in my voice.
"it's fine. You're only telling the truth. And honestly, I dont think he'll ever forgive me either."
Damn it....I'm starting to feel bad for her. "How about we talk about something else." I suggested.
"sure." she agreed.
"What are you gonna name your baby?" I questioned.
"I'm not sure...I was kinda hoping that you and Brody would name it, seeing as its not technically my child." she laughed nervously.
I gave her a small smile. "I think you and Brody should talk about names. You are the mother after all. Nothing will ever change that. And I think that the baby deserves at least a small contribution to its life...naming it is a huge part of its life."
"How can a name be a huge role in its life. I mean it's only a name."
"A name will stay with it for the rest of its life."
"You really want me to? Even though Im giving it to you?"
I nodded my head. "It will find out that your it's mother eventually. We can't keep that a secret forever."
"I guess you're right."

I texted Brody to come into the kitchen and in seconds he was in here. "Hey babe." he greeted, giving me a peck on the lips after. "what's up? He asked.
"You and Lucy need to talk about what your going to name your baby." I told him. He looked at Lucy who was giving us an innocent look. No one was saying anything...it was an awkward silence between the 3 of us. "well." I finally broke the silence, urging them to talk to one another.
Brody cleared his throat and began to speak. "What do you want to name it Lucy?" he asked.
"I don't know.". She admitted.
"Neither do I" Brody replied.
I decided to help them out. "What's a girls name that means something to both of you?"
"Autumn". They both answered in unison.
"ok." I said slowly. A little weird to name a girl after me, but oh we'll. " and what's a boys name that means something to you."
They didn't answer right away. Lucy finally spoke up. "Mason"
"Mason" Brody repeated, agreeing with Lucy.
"Alright so you'll name it Autumn if it's a girl and Mason if it's a boy."
"Sounds good. But we still have a few months before both babies come. We can decide the middle name later, right?". Brody asked, starting to get uncomfortable.
"Right.". I answered, feeling how uncomfortable he was talking about his and Lucy's baby.
"Did you decide what you're naming your baby, Autumn?" Lucy asked curiously.
"Mhm. Me and Brody decided on Cassandra Rose Taylor for a girl and Brody Zachary Taylor for a boy." I replied.
"Those names are adorable. Are you going to take Brody's last name when you get married?"
"Yep. We already have the marriage license." Brody answered for me.
"Thats wonderful. I'm happy for the both of you."
"Thanks Luce.". Brody said.

A/N. ok so only a few more chapter to go. After the wedding chapter, I'm going to right the epilogue and finish the story. I'm not sure if I'm going to write a sequel to this story yet. I'll decide on how many people want the sequel after I write the epilogue.

The Perks of Immortality
This story will no longer be updated. After living decades and dying hundreds of times, Kegan has learned that he has finally passed some test that the cruel spirit had given him. Now, Kegan has the ability to gain “perks” that can make his life much easier. He is looking forward to finally having an easy life with the new perks he has earned. Rules to keep me honest for the perk system: Spoiler: Spoiler 1. The purpose of perks is to help the MC live longer and do new things each life. 2. The perks can be unlocked by getting hurt or killed. 3. The perks can be unlocked by putting in a lot of effort that isn’t easily duplicated in a new life. 4. Perks are generally beneficial enhancements to the MC’s body. 5. Perk costs can be lowered with more impressive achievements to unlock them. 6. Perk costs can be lowered by repeated death or injury from something the perk protects against. 7. Perk costs are increased for quality of life improvements that don’t benefit survival. I want to avoid one of the pitfalls I see for other LitRPG stories where the game elements barely relate to the story, or offer very little information. If people are skipping over and not reading the perks then I'm doing things wrong. So I promise to try and make the perks interesting, sometimes humorous, informative, and relevant to the story.Cover art by http://dertypaws.com/
