《My Overprotective Brothers》Chapter 4

Ambers P.O.V
"Name's Ambi! We need name's, so we know whose ass we're beating till tomorrow!"
"Who is this brave bastard that I'm about to make my loyal bitch and kiss your feet for forgiveness!"
"Who even dared to lay their hands on princess anyway? Don't they know who we are?"
"You wait till I get my hands around their necks, I'm gonna make their face turn purple!"
"EVERYONE STOP!" I screamed out of frustration.
Right now, we are having what my family calls 'A family meeting' where whenever something big happens to anyone of us (Especially me) we all have a big group discussion. Usually, our mum is referee in these types of discussions because my brothers can get mad and heated very quickly.
"Nobody is touching anyone's butts or turning faces purple!" I said with an irritated voice, this shouting and screaming has been going on since we got home an hour ago. It all started when Isaac saw my face in the first second I stepped foot in the door, since then it erupted in shouts and screams from each member of my family. Except for mum, she always takes a calmer approach that I am thankful for, I'm just mad that none of my brothers inherited that gene except me.
"Amber we need to teach these bastards a lesson to never hurt you ever again."
"We only want to keep you safe, its brother's instinct," Grey said whilst giving me a side hug on the couch, I rested my head on his shoulder and embraced the love I was receiving.
Grey was always the calmest brother when it came to this, don't get me wrong Grey is still as intimidating and will kill a bitch if they ever hit me, but he deals with it quieter, calm before the storm as you will.
"How long has this been going on for princess?" Grey asked me sweetly whilst holding me securely in his arms. I look around the room, seeing all my family sitting down together and facing me anxiously awaiting my answer. I let out a big sigh and decide to tell them everything.
"The same four girls have been picking on me since the first week of school," I whispered.
"YOU HAVE BEEN BULLIED FOR 4 YEARS AND HAVENT SAID ANYTHING?!" Isaac screamed and stood up from his seat on the couch, I flinched at his screaming and turned my head away from him and buried it in Grey's chest.

"Dude don't scare her!" Jason scolded him whilst pulling his leg down, so he falls back on the couch. I turn my head away from Grey's chest and look back at everyone.
"I'm sorry Ambi for freaking out but I'm just so angry about you being bullied for so long and going through it alone, why didn't you say anything to us?" Isaac said in a broken voice that makes me want to take him into a bone-crushing hug.
"I'm sorry I didn't say anything to you guys, but I thought it would eventually pass and I could handle it on my own, the first few years they just called me names and pushed me around a bit, but now it has gotten worse and today was one of those times, I try and avoid them, but it never works they have minions all around school, so I can't hide."
"Why do they bully you, pumpkin?" Dylan asks with an anxious look on his face.
"They bully me for all the flaws they can find in me, they mostly bully me for the dresses you make me and the fact that I'm shy and a huge loner," I say with a sad voice and lower my head in shame.
Everyone lets out a sad sigh and looks down at the ground with mixed emotions, whilst Dylan is livid more at the fact that they don't like me wearing his dresses. I look over at Isaac to see a concentrated look on his face, when he sees me looking his expression immediately changes and gives me his signature half smile.
"I have an idea!" Our mother exclaims whilst clapping her hands together.
"Why don't we have a movie night like we used to do whenever someone is upset." She said with an excited look on her face. I loved our old movie nights and I could tell everyone's moods changed at the thought of it.
"That's a great idea love! Ambers choosing the film because she is the upset one in need of some love from all of us." Our dad said and ruffled my hair whilst getting up and off the couch to grab the blankets and extra pillows.
"I'm going to make us all hot chocolates!" Grey said with excitement, I smiled up at him and he detached his arm off from me and left to go to the kitchen.

Jason and Dylan moved apart on the couch to make room for me, we usually had our assigned seats when we had movie night, I would always cuddle up with Jason with Dylan on the other side of me, so we could discuss the characters outfits and whisper who we thought the hottest character was, this was our all time favourite game. Our parents would be huddled up together on the other sofa, and Isaac would sit beside Dylan and Grey would sit on the floor directly in front of me. I loved our set up and it worked well for everybody.
"So...princess what are we watching?" Jason asked whilst flicking through the different films on Netflix.
"I want you to guess," I said cheekily. Jason nodded and scratched his chin in thought.
"The Avengers?"
"No"
"La La Land?"
"Nope"
"Cinderella?"
"Ooh close," I said in a hopeful voice.
"Fifty Shades of Grey?" Isaac chimed in with an evil smirk.
"NO WAY!" I screamed in horror. They do the naughty stuff in that one!
"We give up cutie," Jason said.
"Mulan of course!" I said in an obvious tone of voice. Isaac rolled his eyes and whispered "Babies film" under his breath, I hit him and gave him my angry look to which he rolled his eyes and laughed.
"Yes! it is my all-time favourite Disney movie, also whenever I watch it, it always brings me in a good mood." I said whilst jumping up and down in my seat in excitement.
Dad comes back with the blankets, Grey hands out the hot chocolates and makes sure to put extra marshmallows in mine. Jason starts the movie and we all assume our seats and watch it together.
"You're my little Mulan," Jason said whilst playing with my long hair and wrapping it around his fingers.
"Why Mulan?" I asked and looked up at him. He smiled and stroked my hair.
"Because you share a lot of her characteristics, you're strong, determined at anything you do and you're a fighter just like her," Jason said with a huge smile on his face, I mirrored his smile and leant my head on his shoulder whilst playing with his hand.
"Correction, Amber's a badass," Grey said whilst looking up at me giving me his big smile. Our mum and dad laughed at his comment and nodded their heads.
"Definitely, I only produce winners." My father said with pride in his voice. I looked over at all my brothers and see them smiling at our parents.
These are the moments that I want to stay in forever, each of us are not perfect and each of my brothers has caused trouble in the past, some more than others. But it's moments like these that make you want to freeze time and to just savour the moment while it lasts.
"Mulan is so cool!" Isaac says whilst looking intensely at the screen whilst gulping down his hot chocolate.
"She has poor fashion sense though," Dylan exclaims with a scrunched up disgusted face whilst he eyes her up and down like dirt, classic Dylan. Whenever we watch any movie, Dylan is always criticising the characters outfits and judging each person for each part of their clothing.
"Li Shang looks so much hotter! A definite ten outta ten" Dylan approves.
"I agree with you on that one," I said whilst looking dreamily at Li Shang. My other brother's heads snap to our direction and give me a look that could kill.
"Chill guys he's a fictional character!" I scold my brothers for being so foolish. They sigh and let it go. Dylan and I share a cheeky grin and giggle to ourselves.
"Look at me, I will never pass for a perfect bride"
"Or a perfect daughter"
"Can it be I'm not meant to play this part..."
...Wait is Grey singing?
Every one of my brothers and our parents look over at Grey singing 'Reflection', he immediately stopped when he sensed us all looking and turned a dark shade of pink when he was caught red-handed by us, we all broke out in fits of laughter and Grey just crosses his arms and lowers his head in embarrassment.
"What? It's a banging song!"

My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe...
Xavier had a happy, humdrum life: normal friendships, a normal girlfriend, a somewhat oddball family. Until, that is, he literally stumbled through the fourth wall and discovered he was the protagonist of a manga. Now he's scrambling to maintain any semblance of control over his own life in the face of something he never imagined he would need to contend with: the power of the Genre. Hello, E.O. Tenkey here; thank you for your interest in "Not A Manga"! This was my first serial novel, and I hope you enjoy Xavier's predicament! Familiarity with manga not required (though it can't hurt)! I look forward to exploring the bounds of the Genre with you. (First volume is rated PG-13 for comic mayhem and light profanity—these are high school students, after all. Second volume is rated PG-13 to R for some violence and similar levels of profanity. Tags may or may not contain spoilers.)
