A/N: heyooooo so i know in the films and books, they only have 24 hours to put their name int he goblet before they're chosen, but I changed it to a week so not everything is so rushed and that it seems more realistic than just one day in Y/N's life is eventful if that makes sense :) also tysm for all the support it means the world to me! I post hints at upcoming chapter on my tiktok @slytherin.simp btw :)

Y/N POV:
The day before the champions were chosen was the worst. I couldn't eat, or focus during class, and would look over to Cedric during our time in the hall - he was one of my best friends and I couldn't stand to lose him. But I realised I had to be a good friend and at least pretend to support him now he'd entered his name - he couldn't take it back, and even if it hurt me, I didn't want to hurt him - he was probably feeling worse than I did with all the nerves. So, I decided to bring a bit of joy to his day.
I walked over to the Hufflepuff table, and took him behind one of the pillars for a little chat.
"Hey Ced..." I said as I pulled him behind the pillar, away from any unwanted onlookers.
"Yes Y/N?" He replied, confused about why it was so secretive.
"Look over at the Ravenclaw table right now." I demanded. Cedric pulled a confused face, then looked over to the table. I followed his gaze to Cho. I knew he liked her, but was scared to ask. So, I made it easier.

"You like Cho don't you?" I said, tilting my head to one side and smirking.
"Maybe...Um...Yeah..." Cedric stammered.
"Good." I simply said.
"Wait what?" Cedric really was puzzled now.
"Well I asked her if she liked you and she said yes, and you said you like her, so you both like eachother." I explained, as I dragged him back from behind the pillar, pulling him along to the Ravenclaw table.
"Now, Ced, this is where you shoot your shot." I said to him and pushed him forward towards Cho. He slightly stumbled forwards, before regaining his balance, making sure to shoot a little annoyed glare at me before turning back to Cho, Cedric had her full attention. I just stood there arms crossed, with a small smirk on my face as I nodded at him to ask her out.
"Hey...Cho?" Cedric said nervously, fidgeting with his hands and looking at his feet.
"Yes Cedric?" Cho said with a small smile.
"Would you like to come to Hogsmeade with me this Saturday?" He blurted out, and began smiling afterwards.
"I'd love to!" Cho replied, her small smile turning into a massive grin.
They hugged, and then Cedric turned back to me and hugged me.
"Thankyou so much Black." He whispered in my ear.
"It's not that difficult to ask someone out Ced - you did that so easily." I told him, as we walked towards the Gryffindor table, to sit with our friends.
"If it's so easy Y/N, why don't you ask out Fred?" He said smirking.
I froze.
"What...I....Um....That's different - we're friends!" I stammered.
"Ask Fred what?" A voice said behind me.
Oh shit. Shit. Shit. Please hope he didn't hear us.
"Nothing Freddie - nothing important anyway." I said as I turned to face Fred, a small forced smile on my face. He didn't seem to suspect a thing, as he just turned to Cedric and congratulated him on finally asking Cho out. It was a close call though. I'd get Cedric for that one.
