The next few weeks were quite eventful - Cedric entered his name in the goblet despite my many attempts at trying to stop him. The twins also tried to to enter - emphasis on tried. They took an ageing potion, and it didn't end well. I was the one that had to take them to the hospital wing, tell Madame Pomferey what happened, and sit there as Dumbledore himself visited them both and laughed at their antics. I stayed at the hospital for both days the boys were there, sitting next to Fred's bed and holding his hand. It was quite peaceful when he was asleep - him being awake was another story. Fred would constantly act like an old man since his appearance also changed, making jokes and goofing around - it wasn't annoying, but it was the opposite of peaceful.

Once the boys had left the hospital wing, I thought they'd get teased - but they didn't. I guess everyone had respect for the twins, but that didn't stop our other friends from teasing them. We made our way back to the common room and I told everyone I needed to go to the library to revise for my charms test tomorrow. Surprisingly, Fred said he would come too. Throughout our time at Hogwarts, Fred has only been with me to the library a handful of times, and we never ended up getting work done - he'd always get bored or distracted and we'd good around. So I wasn't very optimistic about our trip but I still let him come with me.

However, when we got to the library, Fred immediately asked me what books I needed and went off and got them. It was really strange but I wasn't complaining. I found us a table to work at, at the back of the library, it was lit by a few candles and a small fireplace - it was so cozy and nice.

Once Fred came back with my books, he just sat down, got his homework out and started doing it. No messing around or anything. After an hour and a half I'd done all the work I needed, but Fred had been completely silent, working really hard on his own work. His eyebrows were slightly furrowed in concentration- it was adorable. He looked up at me, and I realised I'd been staring at him for a while. He didn't say anything, just held my gaze and smiled, and went back to writing. I'd never seen this side of Fred before - quiet, focused and sort of shy in a way - I liked it.

"Um Fred..." I whispered to him.

"Yes Y/N?" He questioned, not even taking his eyes off the paper.

"I'm just going to return these books and I'll be back in a minute."

"Okay - did you get everything you wanted done?" He asked, looking up straight into my eyes.

"Yep - thankyou so much for coming with me Freddie."

"No problem Y/N - I got all my work done too, we should do this more."

"Yeah we should." I said smiling as I walked off to put the books back.

When I came back from putting the books away, Fred was folding some paper.

"What you doing Freddie?" I said as I slid down into the seat opposite.

"Making you a paper bird." He replied as he smoothed the corners down. Fred then waved his wand, and the paper bird began to fly around - and landed straight in my hands.

"It's beautiful." I whispered.

"It's a bit of cool magic I thought I'd show you Y/N." He said as he made the bird fly around our heads.

"You've got to teach me how to do that!"

"Maybe on our next library trip?" Fred asked as we got up and packed our books away.

"Absolutely Freddie." I said as we slung our bags over our shoulders and left the library, with the enchanted bird now flying in a small circle around where we'd been sitting.

Once we came back to the common room, it was already dark outside - winter was fast approaching.

"Thanks for this afternoon Fred, it was really sweet of you." I thanked him, and the Fat Lady opened the door for us.

"You're very welcome - it was quite nice to just have a bit of piece and quiet wasn't it?" He said as he stepped into the common room.

"Yeah it was."

We then joined the others at the sofas, but I quickly left them to go to my dorm room - I wasn't in the mood to really socialise, especially after I remembered that Cedric had entered his name - it made me worry more. Suddenly, I walked into something - or someone.

"Oh...Um...Sorry!" I said as I quickly rushed past.

"Y/N - you okay?"

I turned around from the stairs to see Fred there. I'd walked into Fred.

"Um yeah! All good here - just a bit tired and not in the mood to socialise." I said quickly, running up the stairs.

"If you need to talk to anyone I'm always here." He shouted up to me.

I'd closed my dorm door before he could hear me say Thankyou.

Fred had been so sweet and gentle with me today - was it because he knew how much I cared for Cedric and knew I was upset? He was so different today, so quiet - it was so different to how I'd seen him for the past 4 years. I mean I loved both sides of Fred, but it made me fall in love with him even more when I found out he could also be so quiet and gentle. I really was in danger.

Fred POV:

Y/N had seemed so upset this morning, and I knew she loved her trips to the library. I thought I'd she'd gone alone, she may end up crying and ruining her day. So, I decided to go with her. I loved seeing her get lost in her books and the little face she pulled when she got something right. I'd normally mess around or joke about or sometimes even just leave the library if I went with anyone else, but this time I thought I'd actually get some work done and just leave Y/N in peace. I just wanted to be there for her, and cheer her up a bit. I knew cheering her up through jokes wasn't going to work today, so I thought being quiet and gentle would work - and it certainly did. By the end of the session, she was smiling again, and I even made her a small enchanted paper bird - which she loved.

She was in such a good mood until we went back to the common room. As soon as we entered and she saw everyone, she just went and sat next to them in silence. I went up to my dorm to get some of her favourite sweets so it could cheer her up again. But when I was coming down the stairs, she rushed past me, obviously upset. It seemed my attempts on cheering her up only lasted a bit.

I knew she was worried about Cedric - he meant a lot to her. They'd been friends before Hogwarts, and he'd been there for her when her mum died. I knew she was scared of losing him too. It made me so sad to see her so upset and worried, but I couldn't do anything else. I told her if she needed anyone I'd be there for her, but she just carried on to her dorm. She obviously wanted to be left alone, so I didn't follow her. I just hoped she'd feel better soon - seeing her sad made me sad, I loved when Y/N was cheerful, her smile was infectious and so was her laughter - it was one of my favourite things about her. I wanted to see Y/N happy again, but I knew she needed some time to be sad.

I just walked down to the others on the sofas.

"Is Y/N okay?" Katie asked,concerned.

"Yeah she will be - just upset about Cedric I think. It's best to give her some space for now though, give her time to be sad." I said as I sat down next to George.

"Never thought I'd hear Fred Weasley say something so thoughtful or sensible." Alicia mused.

"Well my dear Alicia I can be sensible sometimes. Now, George, would you care to join me on an expedition to Filch's office for a good old prank?" I said, linking arms with George.

"My dear Freddie, it would be an honour," George replied, as we stood up together and made our way out of the common room.

"So much for sensible!" Alicia shouted at us.

"I said sometimes Spinnet!" I shouted back as we close the portrait and made our way to create some chaos.
