I drink my KGB and chat to Bea about things, while Seth's eyes are on his phone. Sneaking glances at me occasionally. Luke walks in with his usual golden retriever grin on his face. The smile is almost wiped from his face, then doubled when he sees Bea. It's fucking adorable of them, isn't it?
The party kicks into gear and before I know it there are well over fifty people crammed into the Nixon's open downstairs, and no doubt a few littered in the upstairs too.
The alcohol was well into my body. I was drifting around the kitchen before I decided to give my feet a damned break and pull myself onto the countertop. If Trina saw me now she would flick her tea towel at me.
"Hey, there gorgeous." A guy says. I look up and see a guy, scruffy, but good looking. Looked well out of high school, clearly a crasher. My lips pull into an accommodating smile as he moves towards me from across the kitchen. He was wearing a blue buttoned-down shirt with some shorts, a beer in one hand.
"How's the party?" He asks, his brown eyes flickering over my body sloppily.
"Pretty good so far," I say offering a small nod, my eyes glancing around him for an escape. It's not that he was creeping me out, he was being respectful, just out of my comfort zone.
"You single?" He asks me. I nod and sip my drink peering around with disinterest, unintentionally. "No boyfriend going to punch me if I asked you to do body shots with me?" He asks, a small grin on his face. I almost chuckle at his response. Straight to the point. Body shots. Of course. It spiked my interest that's for sure.
"I'm in a dress," I say chuckling loudly, a little too loudly but with this much alcohol in my system, it was hard to tone it in.
"That doesn't bother me, love." He says with a grin. A hint of a British accent seething through. Sign me up.
"Okay," I say, after a moment of deliberation.
Before pulling the straps of my dress up with a grin. Wrapping my legs around his torso and pulled my dress up to my ribs. I lean back and one guy pours vodka into a shot glass and puts it on my stomach and another one under my chest. Feeling a little too confident I put one between my boobs receiving a cheer from the people in the room and a grin from the guy in between my legs. This damned fucking alcohol.
"Three. Two. One. Go!" One girl yells. The guy starts. Doing pretty damn well. Except he fumbles on the last shot between my chest and the vodka drips onto me. I sit up and pull my dress up.
"Let me get that for you." The guy says leaning forwards to lick the vodka off my collarbone. The crowd cheers. A bashful grin makes its way onto my face.
He moves down and I push him away, not so fast buddy.
"Ok, that's enough now big guns," I say going to move from out of his legs. The corner of his lips turn down with disappointment, but he manages to hide it.
"You still have vodka there." He says with a look, pointing to my chest where the vodka was on my skin. "We might need to go take care of that upstairs?" He asks me his eyebrows wriggling.
"No thank you. But I want to do more body shots. It's someone else's turn." I say with a grin, grabbing the vodka bottle and taking a large sip.

"I'll do it." I hear a familiar voice say. Seth. My head whips around and I turn and see him leaning casually against the doorframe. Holy mother of Jesus don't play with me right now-
"I'll just finish this-" The college guy says, leaning into me despite my protesting shrugs.
"She said no," Seth says, pulling the guy off of me and shoving him off.
Damn.
"Ok man." The college looking guy says stepping away. I pull my dress up again resting it against my rubs again. Three shot glasses are filled again and placed on my body.
Seth moves in between my legs. My breathing hitches as Seth places one hand gently on my thigh. And butterflies caress my whole body at his touch. His breath fanned out across my skin at our closeness, sending goosebumps across my body. I'm slightly uncomfortable with it because I know Seth, and if we weren't both drunk, this type of nonsense would never be happening.
"Three. Two. One. Go!" A guy shouts.
Seth leans forwards and does one smoothly. And then the second, then he does the third easily. Someone pours another one and gestures for me to open my mouth. I hold the shot glass in my mouth gently. Seth grins and his gaze meets my own, him leaning over me. I can feel him everywhere. His hands, his hips, his t-shirt. He slowly reaches forwards, enclosing his mouth over the shot glass, his lips grazing my own, Before he tips his head back, making the alcohol go down his throat easily. He puts the shot glass out of his mouth with a grin. My breathing was rambling out of control, my heart right along with it.
"Enjoy that did we, princess?" He asks me pulling me up to a sitting position, still standing in between my legs. I pull my dress back up.
"Not as much as you," I say with a smirk, attempting to pull myself together. He chuckles and moves away from me.
My body instantly aches for the closeness again.
"Ok. Someone else. I'm going to go play pool." I announce to the room and a girl eagerly slides into the spot.
Glancing at Seth hopefully. He doesn't even glance at her. His eyes held my gaze.
"I'll come. Be prepared to lose." He warns me, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the pool table.
"I've never played. So probably." I say with a shrug, letting him drag me along.
"Hey, hot stuff." A guy with a neck tattoo says glancing up and down as I make my way over.
Seth moves from behind me.
"She yours Seth?" Another guy asks checking me out shamelessly, he has black hair, a broad face, a crooked nose.
"No. I belong to myself, as does every single human on this planet thank you very much. Seth and I are friends. I'm friends with his sister." I explain, raising my eyebrows at this boy's blatant misogyny. Seth grabs a pool cue and hands me one.
"Want a game?" Neck tattoo asks Seth and me. Seth nods.
"She's never played so I'll teach her. You two can team, against us?" Seth offers, placing his drink down on a nearby table.
"Sure." Black hair guy says with a nod, his eyes glancing to me carefully, probably shocked by my attitude.
"I'm Lenny." The black hair guy says.
"I'm Arlo." The guy with a neck tattoo says.
"Nice to meet you guys," I say shaking their hands, remembering. Sort of.

"So if you're not Seth's, sorry with Seth, are you like free?" Lenny asks me as he sets up the pool balls.
"No," Seth says immediately. I give him a look but shrug it off.
"No, I'm not free," I answer Lenny.
The other guys give each other a look before shrugging it away. Seth starts explaining how to play the game and I nod along. He shows me how to hit it and I nod. He breaks for us.
"Ok, it's your turn. Try to get one of the striped balls." He tells me. I go down like he showed me and try to hit it. But it goes way off course.
"I would personally like to apologise on behalf of the alcohol in my system, I would be a fucking beast if I were sober," I say with a giggle.
"I'll help you next time," Seth says with a chuckle. I give him a grateful smile as the Lenny goes.
Then Seth takes his turn before Arlo does. I glance at Seth.
"Ok line it up." He instructs me. "Nearly." He says moving behind me to fix my stance. His hand on my waist, the other wrapped around guiding my moving hand.
I try to keep my breathing steady. His hand left my body tingling.
"Ok and pull back and shoot." He mutters into my ear, his voice low and husky sending shivers down my spine. I pull back, his arm guiding mine carefully. Then I shoot, the white ball glides and hits the striped ball with a satisfying clack where it rolls into the hole.
"I did it!" I say standing up in victory doing a little dance. Seth grins at me.
"The skill. Soon we'll be watching you on the pool world championships." He jokes with a shake of his head as I move to line another one up. He watches me.
"A little help?" I ask him, wanting him there again. He chuckles.
"That's a dangerous game there Lace." He says in a low voice. I feel a deep blush enter my neck understanding what he meant.
I shrug. And he moves behind me, resting his hand on my waist again gently, his back pressed up against me. His arm guided mine again. I make the shot but it bounces off the rim meaning that's the end of the turn.
"Ooo that was close," Seth says with a grin.
"What can I say. I'm a professional." I say with a grin.
"We know you are." He replies with a laugh.
"Lacey. What the fuck were you doing pressed up against my brother." Bea says loudly walking towards me.
"Woah Woah. Bea calm down he was teaching me how to play pool." I say holding my hands up in surrender.
"Yeah, he can teach you. But he doesn't have to be pressed up against you." Bea exclaims, her words slurring slightly.
"Hey, Seth my man, those body shots on that girl were epic man. She's hot." A guy says walking over and clapping Seth on his back.
Seth's eyes flick to me in panic. The guy follows Seth's gaze and his eyes land on me. My heart rate pitches.
"No way. That's her. You two together?" He asks pointing to me. Wow, thanks, dude. Way to sell us out.
"You did body shots?!" Bea yells turning to me.
"I did it with tons of people," I say with a defensive shrug.
"Yeah, it was epic. They even put one between her bra and one in her mouth." The guy says completely unaware of the hole he was digging for Seth and me. Mistaking Bea's angry yelling for excited yelling.
Bea's mouth drops open.
"Are you fucking kidding me? Tell me he's joking." Bea yells shoving me slightly.
I stay silent.
"You slimy skank." She screeches. Her neck moves and I see an adjournment of hickies.
"Hold on a fucking minute. Who's the hickey on your neck from Bea?" I ask her. She flinches and starts going red. Seth narrows his eyes.
"Who's the hickey from Bea," Seth asks, in such a low voice that it turns my stomach. If he ever spoke to me in that tone I might just pass away on the spot.
Bea mutters something under her breath.
"Sorry I couldn't hear you." Seth seethes.
"Luke. They're from Luke." Bea says defeated.
"Hold on. So you're sleeping with my best friend. And then yelling at me for playing pool and doing body shots with your best friend." Seth asks rage across his face.
"Ok whatever I'm sorry," Bea mutters.
"Bea," I say simply. She turns to me.
"You need to fucking trust me. I'm so sick of you accusing me of sleeping with your brother." I say.
Bea just nods at me. And I pull her into a hug.
"I'm sorry." She says gently.
"It's ok." She says.
"No it's not ok. What did I say? About sleeping with Luke? Just like I'm not allowed to sleep with Lace, you're not allowed to sleep with Luke. Yet you fucking did." Seth yells. I reach out and put a hand on his arm. In an attempt to calm him down. He closes his eyes before shrugging out of his grip and turning on his heel and walking away.
"I'm going to bed," Bea says to me. I nod to her and hug her before she slips upstairs. I turn and place the cue on the table.
"Good game. I'm going to go find Seth and calm him down." I say moving away from Lenny, Arlo and the other guy who dug me and Seth in it. I push through the masses of people. Keep an eye out for Seth.
But he's nowhere to be found.
Where would he be?
I go outside and look down the beach but he's not there. I make my way upstairs and check upstairs. Checking on Bea in the process.
If I were Seth where would I go? Maybe the roof? Somewhere quiet.
I make my way upstairs, and then to the conservatory door that leads onto the roof.
"Hey," I say gently. His head turns to me his face contorted.
"Took you long enough." He says jokingly a small smile resting on his lips, though his face looked pained. I make my way over to him and stand in front of him giving him a searching look.
His eyes meet my own.
"What's going on?" I ask him softly.
"Well it would appear, you are standing in front of me," Seth says jokingly.
"No. What's going on in here." I say tapping my head.
"Just Bea. I don't know. Like she's my sister. And shit is just, fucking complicated." He says with a sad sigh.
"I know," I say with a sad sigh looking into his soft green eyes. He pulls me into a hug, his lips pressed to my forehead before he places his chin there gently. Butterflies enveloping in my stomach. I take his hand in my own and trace the lines of his hands gently.
He probably thinks of me like a little sister. Ok, not little sister that's weird. Like a friend?
"I love when you do that with my hand," Seth says leaning his head back against the seat and closing his eyes.
I trace the lines of his hands, occasionally running down his arm and making its way back to his hand.
I feel a hand reach up and tuck a piece of hair behind my ear. I turn my head slightly to see Seth watching me. His face lit up from the moonlight. I hold his gaze, still tracing his hand softly, his fingers lingering by my face, toying with a piece of my hair.
Our faces are close together, so close together that with one easy slight movement, we would be kissing. I glance down at his soft lips, before meeting his eyes again.
With one quick movement, he leans forwards and our lips softly brush setting off fireworks inside of my body, I stare at him gently before pressing my lips to his again, closing my eyes.
The kiss is soft, yet full of, I'm not sure how to describe it. I reach my hand up to either side of his face as the kiss becomes more hungry, full of passion and desire, and everything good.
Seth pulls me onto his lap. His mouth moves from my lips and starts working his way down my neck, making me let out soft sounds of desirre. He sucks gently for a while before kissing me again. Then kisses my neck softly.
A phone chimes. Seth keeps trailing kisses down my neck, up to the corner of my mouth.
It's my phone. I see it's Bea messaging me to tell me not to get too drunk. I sigh and put it back in my pocket.
"We can't do this," I say to Seth still on his lap as he nibbles at the sensitive part of my neck.
"I know." He says against my skin. Not stopping. I let out a moan.
"Seriously Seth. Bea would kill us." I say. Seth stops and pulls back. Meeting my eyes.
"Bea would get over it," Seth says with a shrug.
"That's a conversation with her I'm not ready for. I care about you too much to just 'fuck' you. And I see you all the time. I'm completely not ready to be emotionally invested, as a friend, in someone I'm sleeping with. And if we say it will only happen once it will keep happening maybe I don't know. And I-" I ramble before I'm cut off by Seth's lips.
I try not to return the kiss but the urge to kiss him back is too strong. His tongue massages mine gently before we break apart to breathe.
"We really can't do this," I say to him before kissing him again. "Seth," I say in between heated kisses. The line's blurred between trying to stop him and urging him onwards. He just grins against my lips. He pulls back and chuckles.
"This isn't funny. We actually can't do this." I say to him seriously. He looks me in the eye, a small smile playing on his lips.
"Why aren't you saying anything?" I say quirking an eyebrow at him. He presses his lips to mine again, before leaning back.
"Because you can't stop kissing me." He says a cheeky grin on his face.
"Do you know how much alcohol I have in my system? And you're a good kisser." And your you.. I think to myself.
"Did the Lacey Carter say I was a good kisser?" He asks with a grin.
"No," I say climbing off him and standing up.
"Come on. We're going back. People will be trashing your house. Your sister went to sleep." I say holding my hand out to pull him up. He grabs my hand as I pull him up. I go to move away but he pulls me, via my hand, towards him. His lips met mine. I respond instantly. Even though my body's screaming for me not to.
I don't want to pull away, but I have to.
"Ok. That was it. No more kissing. Ok." I say warningly to him.
"If you can keep your lips away from mine," Seth replies with a challenging smirk.
"I can so do that," I say making my way back inside the conservatory door.
"Bet you can't." He says poking his tongue out at me.
"Your awfully confident," I say as we make our way back downstairs into the bustling house.
"I know. Enjoy your night. Good luck keeping your hands off me." Seth mutters with a grin as Callie spots me and drags me away.
"Why were you with Seth?" Callie asks me drunkenly.
"Bea slept with Luke," I say to her.
"Why do you have a hickey?" She asks me.
"Some guy when we were making out," I reply to her.
"Seth?" She asks.
"Nope." I lie shaking my head.
"Come get a drink. You don't sound drunk." Callie says pulling me into the kitchen.
"Hey, it's body shots girl." A guy says.
I give him a smile as Callie passes me a Smirnoff.
"Want to do another round of body shots that I keep hearing so famously about?" Carlos asks me slinging an arm around his shoulder.
"In public really?" I ask him with a small smile.
I needed a distraction from Seth's addicting lips and I needed it now.
"Come to mine?" He asks me pressing his lips against my ear as he spoke.
"No, I can't. The hostess herself has gone to bed I need to be partially responsible."
"Ok, another time then. Body shots still though?" He asks me.
"You're really keen to show off huh," I say pulling myself onto the bench and pulling up my dress.
"Well, rumours have been spreading. And apparently your hot as fuck." He grins as a guy places shots onto my body again.
This is the dumbest thing I've ever done. I probably look so stupid.
Carlos does pretty well. Not as well as Seth.
I grin as I sit up, he crashes his lips to mine. I kiss him back. A small tinge inside me wishes it weren't him.
I push away from him and pull my dress up.
"Let's go," I say hopping down off the bench dragging him upstairs towards a guest room.
"Bye love," Callie calls out where she's talking to Dev.
"Bye Cal," I call out. We push our way through the masses of bodies. I pull him up the stairs and into the guest room. Locking the door behind us.
***
I make my way back downstairs, followed by Carlos.
"I'm going to head home," Carlos informs me.
"Ok see ya. Stay safe." I reply as he presses his lips to mine briefly and makes his leave.
I enter the kitchen again grabbing a drink and sculling it down. I let out a small sigh as I zone out. Fuck I needed to forget this shit.
Sex isn't always the answer apparently.
I picked up a vodka bottle and started sculling it back. Letting the liquid burn down my throat.
"Woah Woah Woah." I hear Seth's voice say as the bottle is snatched out of my hands.
"No, I was enjoying that," I say with a pout.
"I'm sure you were," Seth says screwing the lid on.
"Can I please have it back?" I ask him reaching for it. He puts it high up on a cupboard.
