Tong Nian couldn't sleep that night. All the emotions from the last hours, the reminder of what she's been through were haunting her thoughts. If she couldn't sleep, it meant Hang Shangyan wouldn't either. But tonight, he didn't want tears in her eyes. He didn't want to see her cry once again. Tonight, he wanted to see her smile.

They were both facing each other, lying on their bed, their adorable white cat on the floor, like the happy family they all were. He was looking right into her eyes, intensely, with pride and love.

"You are beautiful", he said, his fingers slowly approaching her injured temple. "Does it hurt?"

"Not anymore", she was smiling at him, not leaving his gaze either, caressing his cheeks. "When you are here, nothing hurts."

"What did I do to deserve you?"

"Well, you are very sexy. So I think you can thank genetics"

"Is that what you first thought when you saw me that night in your Internet cafe?", Hang Shangyan asked, in a fake annoyed tone.

"Should I remind you how rude you were? Your looks saved you, mister"

"Who would have thought cute and bubbly Tong Nian was into dark and dangerous older men..."

"Who would have thought dark and dangerous Hang Shangyan was into cute and bubbly younger girls? And smarter, way smarter by the way" Tong Nian loved teasing him, and she knew that he didn't allow anyone else but her.

"I'm so lucky to have you in my life. Which also means that when we have kids, you'll be the one in charge of their homeworks. Imagine them, your brain and my beauty. They'll win in life". Hang Shangyan was smiling brightly. It was his time to tease her. They shared a comfortable silence before she asked :

"Gun ?"

"Hum?"

"That day when I met you... I already told you it was love at first sight for me... But it was not because of how hot you were. The moment I saw you, I knew in my bones that you were the one. I can't explain why and how, but I immediately felt protected. Maybe it was the way you were looking at me... You didn't care about me, you were not into me, you were not into anyone, but your eyes made me feel safe. You looked at me just like you are looking at me right now."

"I will never let anything happen to you again. I'll always protect you"

"I know". Tong Nian, for the first time since her attack, was feeling good, in the protective arms of her husband.

"So... 'our kids' ? Since when are you thinking about our future kids?"

Hang Shangyan didn't realise what he had said about their future kids, when he had said it. Now he was feeling awkward.

"How many do you want?"

"Huh?"

"How many kids do you want?", she asked, softly smiling at him.

"Ten"

"TEN?!!!"

"I want my own K and K family team", he laughed. "Actually, I want as many kids as you want. And if you don't want kids, then we won't have kids. I want what makes you happy"

"I think I want a boy. I want him to be as passionate as his dad, and he will have your eyes for sure. I want him to walk as proudly as you, in any situation, and to never be sorry. You'll teach him how to cook, and I'll watch you both play video games. Of course, I won't let him have your bad temper, oh my god my mom wouldn't survive a mini Hang Shangyan at home !"

Hang Shangyan's heart fluttered, hearing the future she was imagining for them. It was now his time to speak :

"Well, I think I want a little, little squid. A girl who will make everyone happy, just like her mom. A smart, confident, talented and strong girl. And I tell you this, she better be strong and confident because I won't let any boy approach her before her 40's. I still wonder how your parents let me marry you, to be very honest. I would not let a man like me marry our daughter", he said, mimicking a fake shiver in his body.

"Don't be too harsh on yourself... They like you... and we didn't give them a choice. For sure there were better fishes in the sea, but you are decent", she joked.

"Are you telling me you tried better fishes? I thought I was your first one, I feel so betrayed right now", he answered, still faking it.

"You are my first, and my last. And do you want to know why they let you marry me?"

"I really do actually"

"Because you have one thing in common, and it's the love you have for me. My mom is a strict woman, but eyes can't lie. She saw how much you loved me, and - oh my god - was I bad to hid how much I love you. They would have never let me marry you, if they were not one hundred percent sure you would treat me well. And maybe they didn't trust you at first, but they never stopped trusting me, and my choices, and you are my choice. You will always be my choice."

They shared a new silence, never letting go of each other's gaze.

"I wish your parents were alive", she said.

Hang Shangyan shared a incredule look.

"I wish they were alive so I could thank them for giving birth to you. I would tell them how their son makes me happy, daily, and I would show them how much of an amazing man you became. I'm sure they are watching you from somewhere, and are so proud of everything you achieved, and I am not only talking about the fact that you finally got married", she laughed. That's what she was good at, sharing the most deepest thoughts and say that one last sentence that makes everyone feel comfortable.

"I miss them"

"I know..."

"Hey, Tong Nian. Are you hungry?"

"Hum... actually there's one thing I want to eat, beside your face of course"

"Oh my... when did my wife become so flirty?"

"'I've always been flirty, you were just thinking it was not on purpose"

"Wha-?"

"You have so much to learn..."

"Thank go we have a lifetime then"

"Yeah..."

"So, what does flirty Tong Nian wants to eat, *beside my face*?"

"Popcorn!"

"Popcorn?"

"There's something we never did, and I think tonight is the night, since we are not sleeping anyway..."

"And what's this?"

"I want to watch a movie, in your arms, in bed, eating popcorns"

"Sounds perfect to me, you pick the movie"

"Hum... let me think of something you have never seen. Wait ! I am sure you have never watched any romcom in your life. Why would you, you were too busy playing video games and walking in the streets with your black suit. Hum... so what should we watch? Dramatic love story or feel good movie" Tong Nian was thinking out loud, not letting Hang Shangyan speak. "Titanic? No, too long, and we all know how it ends anyway. The notebook ? Nope. Miss Congeniality? She is a badass..."

"Tong Nian..."

"27 Dresses? Leap Year? 10 Things I hate about you? Clueless? No too girly"

"Tong Nian..."

"Oh what about Pretty Woman? A classic. Ohhh Love actually ?"

"TONG NIAN!"

"What?"

"Ok, don't panic, I'm about to tell you something that will change us forever..."

"Wait, oh my god are you ok? Do I need to call some help, or something, did I say something? Are you mad at me? I always talk to much, I'm sorry..."

"I've already seen most of these romcoms..."

"Are you making fun of me? I did this for you!"

"I actually love you even more for this", she answered, still laughing. That laugh Hang Shangyan was so scared to never hear again.

"Hey, Shangyan, the two of us... I think we are writing the most beautiful romcom. Our romcom, with the most beautiful 'and they lived happily ever after'".
