Hang Shangyan's was not sure what to say and what to do. He hadn't expected Tong Nian to be ready to speak about what happened, so soon. The doctor warned him that it could take a few days or even more and he would have never pushed her if she was not ready. But to his surprise, she wanted to. "The sooner, the better", she had told him. He knew his wife was not the kind of woman to lose her time. He remembered how she followed him everywhere when she was crushing hard and he was not a bit interested. I mean, she graduated at 15 and was working on her doctor's degree at 20. She was also a web celebrity, a singer and now a wife. He was 10 years older than her but he was always amazed at everything she was doing with her life. He was looking at her and he was proud of how strong she was at this exact moment. How strong she was to be ready to talk to him and to the police. The first step to her healing.

"Are you sure?"

"I am sure", she smiled, still holding his hands.

He installed her on his office sofa, put a glass of water on the table, brought her a blanket to warm her legs and injured foot, and asked Little Mi to call the police. While they were waiting for the officer, the two men prepared the computer with the CCTV, in case they needed to watch it with him, and most importantly, with her.

It took an hour for the officer to arrive at the K and K place. Hang Shangyan made Little Mi specifically call him because he knew him and trusted the man. He was the son of one of his grandfather's friends and knew he would treat Tong Nian with patience et good care. He would listen to her and respect what she had to say. Before the officer could meet her, Gun asked Little Mi to talk to the him, mostly to explain the whole situation. Little Mi recalled the moment they found Tong Nian, tied up in the small room but also how the entire computer room had been destroyed. The officer took notes, before entering the office where Tong Nian was sitting with her husband. Hang Shangyan stood up to shake his hand, and directed him to a chair, in front of the sofa.

"You might be Tong Nian", the officer introduced himself, shaked her hand with a reassuring face, and shared an understanding look with Hang Shangyan. "I'm here to listen to you", he continued. "I know it won't be easy, please stop whenever you need to take a break. The point here is not to make you feel uncomfortable but to learn what happened so we can officially start our investigation. Is it ok for you?"

Tong Nian nodded, never letting go of her lover's hand. She was determined to tell everything, her first step - according to her - to move on. She also wanted to help the police, because not only had she been attacked, but the K and K place too and there was surely something hidden behind all of this. Hang Shangyan knew it was not the time for him to sa anything, the only thing he could do was to support her and show her that she was not alone in this moment.

"Shall we start?", the officer asked, waiting for the young lady to take a deep breath, before nodding once again.

"Would you tell us what were you doing when the attack occurred?"

"I was alone here, it was around 1 or 2 in the morning I think. The two employees were gone long ago. I couldn't sleep that night, maybe I was just missing my husband", she smiled, looking at him with a touching gaze. "I decided that since I couldn't sleep, I should study a little bit. Usually, when I have an insomnia, I just go downstairs not to wake Shangyan up. I didn't even think about it when I left the bedroom that night, I took my computer to go to the meeting room..."

The night was cold and she was alone at home. She loved this place so much, especially when it was crowded with the boys and her husband. But she also loved how quiet it was by night, when they were all sleeping. The meeting room was her favorite place to be - after their bedroom of course - because it was just so full of good energy. When she sat that night, laptop in front of her eyes, sweets in a small plate next to her, she expected it to be calm and cozy.

But after an hour, she heard some weird noises coming from outside. She was not worried though, because she was the one who had installed the security program and no one could enter that easily. But for a reason the police would have to explain later, she saw three silhouettes enter the building. At first, she thought that she was just having a bad dream, or that she was hallucinating, but she then saw some flashlights coming from the entrance hall, coming closer and closer to the computer room. She started panicking, not sure what she should do. She was a genius but she had never been confronted to any situation of danger. And in her bad luck, her phone was still in her bedroom. She was usually never far from it, but everything was screaming bad fate at this moment. She tried to hide behind a desk, praying for the men to rob whatever they wanted to rob and leave. But she apparently hadn't been quick enough because one dude, his face half covered by a black mask and a cap, met her scared gaze. Tong Nian was like paralyzed, she couldn't move, she couldn't do anything else than just watch the tall guy approaching her.

"What do we have here", it looked like he was smirking, walking step by step, as if he wanted to take all his time to scare her even more. Tong Nian was trembling, tears already starting to fall from her eyes. Her body pressed against the wall, she was whispering to herself "please don't hurt me, please don't hurt me, please don't hurt me". The man, finally in front of her, slowly took her chin with one hand, scrutinizing her face.

"Please, let me go", the young girl pleaded, her voice almost inaudible, not able to watch him in the eyes. In the room next to them, the two other men, all in black, were breaking everything they could, throwing computers in the room, destroying chairs with baseball bats.

The strong man was looking directly at her and he started to make fun of her, mimicking what she had just said: "Please let me go". For Tong Nian, it looked like the man was looking at her for hours, and the more he was looking at her, the more she was feeling helpless.

She tried to scan the room, to see if there was any place she could go to run away. But her thoughts were cut off by the hands of the man, slowly moving to her arms, and to her hips. He approached his face even closer to her, which provoked in Tong Nian a reaction of distress. "Please, please, please", she said, not even able to scream. She was scared of what the man was about to do. She couldn't imagine what he was about to do. That's when he started to laugh. His masked mouth almost touching hers, he told her: "Don't worry, cutie pie, you're not my type". Tong Nian didn't take anything he said as a relief though, she still had no idea why those three men were there and what they wanted. But for a weird reason, her panic that used to be paralyzing her was now becoming a strong anger, accentuated by the fact that the man was way too close to her and it wanted to make her puke.

"Now let me go!", she screamed, trying to get rid of him and his hands on her body. Her reaction apparently took the man by surprise because she was able to break away, running as fast as she could to leave the meeting room. But as fast as she could was nothing against one tall man and his two accomplices. Her goal was to reach the entrance hall and run as far as possible from the place to go get help.

"Where do you think you are going". The man grabbed her from behind, his strong hands once again on her, but this time with even more power. He was tightening her arm, so strong she could feel her heartbeat. He then spun her so make her face him. Absolutely decided to fight back, she spit on his face, managing once again to flee him.

"That bitch!", the thief was now yelling, not focusing anymore at all on what his two guys were doing but only on the scared young girl in her pajamas, barefoot. Tong Nian was really trying her best to leave the chaos, but she walked on a piece of broken computer, which made her scream in pain, but also fall on the floor. The sensation was like an electric shock in her whole leg and it gave enough time for the man to grab her one more time, grabbing her wrist while she was still kneeling on the ground. He forced her to stand up, only to make her fall again, after he slapped her. Her face then hit the corner of a table, making her temple bleed. Tong Nian was almost knocked out, not able to walk because of her injured foot and in the edge of losing consciousness.

"We had enough fun, come with me", he said in a cold tone. He was pulling her by the arm, walking quickly and determined while the poor lady was struggling to even stand up straight.

He pushed her against the wall of the storage room. Everything was blurred and Tong Nian felt like she was dying. Her mouth tasted like blood, and a warm red liquid was now running down her cheeks. The masked man then tied her wrists and put a tape on her mouth.

"Say hi to your boyfriend", he whispered before leaving alone her in the room.

"You mean that the man who did this to you apparently knew Hang Shangyan?", the officer had written everything she had said, taking every helpful details she had given.

Her testimony had been hard to hear for Hang Shangyan. Hard wasn't even a word strong enough to define how he was feeling. His hand was fully intertwined in hers, trying his best not to show any bad emotions. But the idea of this man, touching her, slapping her, insulting her, made his blood boil. And knowing that he might even be the reason behind her attack was just too much to take. What was also killing him inside was the idea of her, waiting along, scared, injured and asking herself in she would die, in this small empty cold room. He couldn't imagine how long it felt for her, how worried she had been that maybe the men could come back and kill her, hoping for the team and him to save her. He was feeling so guilty, once again.

"I don't know if he was bluffing or saying the truth", Tong Nian answered. She had cried a lot during her testimony, and everytime she was detailing something, she could see her husband's eyes darken little by little. She could also see that he was holding back some tears.

"Tong Nian, I know it's hard and a lot of things can get mixed in your memories, but may I ask if you have seen any particular sign on his face, or maybe a voice or something they said?", the officer was still trying to get everything he could from her, not wanting to miss anything for his investigation.

"I think... Wait I'm not sure if that's even true of if it's in my imagination..."

"Don't worry, tell us everything you can, our job then, will be to shed light on this case"

"They were all masked and wearing caps, but I you could see their eyes... I think the man who attacked me had a scar right above his nose, next to his left eye. But everything is blurred, I could be wrong, I don't know". Tong Nian was trying her best to remember everything but she was so tired. Telling her story had been a rough experience, a needed one, but a hard one.

Hang Shangyan was the one to end the meeting, asking Little Mi to lead to officer to the exit before thanking him for coming. Tong Nian agreed to give him the CCTV to help the police, hoping that maybe they would find things she hadn't remembered. Hang Shangyan was glad he didn't have to watch the videos, because her story had already been hard enough to listen, he was not sure he would have been able to go through the images. Now, it was in the hands of the police and there was nothing he could do. His only focus would be on her.

"Are you ok?", he asked his wife, concerned by her very tired face. She was puffy from having cried too much, and it looked like she couldn't even move anymore, too weak and exhausted.

"Thank you for being there", she answered, caressing his hand. "I am glad I did it", she reassured him. Once again, they were both trying to make each other feel better, more worried by one other than by themselves. He gently kissed her lips, whispering: "I am proud of you, little squid". It made her smile and it made his heart flutter.

"Would you mind carrying me in our bed, I think I want to sleep a little". She had barely finished her sentence that she was already in his protective arms, and lying in their beds. This time, more than ever, he would be here to catch all her bad dreams.
