《18 Purifying Magics》Chapter 4 Edited 2-24-21

Turning from the core, Terra began to give a basic explanation on what Domains do. She went into great detail on their role as magical purifiers, taking in the magical byproducts that all life forms naturally excrete into the atmosphere, into Ether.
Said substance is what the muggles refer to as dark matter, the particle that makes up all unseen phenomenon. Of course the muggles have a greater understanding than just that, but that was what Silus had parsed from the explanation. Definitely another topic for the researcher to look into later.
Terra explained, “The purification begins by sucking in the ambient unclean mana within the domains surroundings through its entrance which are the only things that connect them to the world.”
Silus widened his eyes at the implications of his Companion. “Domains are their own worlds,” he whispered to himself. Looking back up he saw the fairy just nod in acknowledgement.
“And every Domain acts in the same way as a world, only difference is that they are ever expanding due to their intake of mana. You see processing Ether is extremely difficult for even the most powerful of Domains as very few in history have ever directly created a single drop of pure Ether. Instead what Domains do is they take the mana and categorize them based on their magical weight, essentially a mixture of power and requirements or consequences."
Terra took a brief moment to think of a comparison for Silus to grasp. Having something that he already knew about would help him properly digest the information being dropped on the man. "I believe that is where the Wizarding World gained the idea for their magic classification of light and dark magic.”
Taking a deep breath, his mind tried to understand what he was hearing. All this time he had believed what many witches and wizards did, light magic was good and dark was bad. Why would they ever think differently?
To hear that something so basic that everyone in his society learned when studying magic was completely incorrect had fractured his foundation. ‘How much could I have done? How far could I have gone in life had I ever known this,’ were the thoughts running through Silus’ mind.
Allowing the Host to take in all that she said Terra, for the first time, properly inspected him. The man had a thin, but slightly muscled body that was well balanced across his figure. Brown hair just slightly overgrown, but having a subtle wild charm to them.
What truly surprised her were his eyes. His eyes were slightly gaunt and sunken, like he spent a significant time of his life alone. The distrust and caution displayed in every flick of his gaze shook Terras heart. Even when the hazel eyes met hers it was dull and out of focus.
"Is there really light and dark magic? Were we wrong even on that?!"
Refocusing, Terra dissected the question. Seeing that he was starting to get a bit hysterical, she gave the best answer she could.
"Elemental? Yes. Light and Darkness affinity magic is very much real, but just as with every tool neither is inherently good or evil. The darkness holds just as many predators as the light blinds the weak from those who would seek to manipulate them," Terra explained.
Taking in her answer, Silus went through a great many of his memories. So much time spent huddled over books and referential material that were engraved in his brain. Slowly he started piecing together some theories on this new knowledge.

"As much as I would love to sit here and answer your questions we do need to get a move on. The Domain does have to be permanently stabilized," Terra continued knowing that he would likely just sit there asking her more and more questions.
"The first thing that you need to recognize is that each Domain has its own Laws," she said. "For this reason, each Domain possesses a Theme. The Theme is what judges how the impurities are sifted out and purified. By separating Mana into the Domains predetermined Affinities it can bring about life without breaking the Ancient Laws.
"Domains are first and foremost separate dimensions. They have to establish for themselves as individuals from the Prime Material World or else they will be destroyed." Terra's explanation shocked Silus. Seeing him opening his mouth to speak she cut him off.
"The Prime Material World possesses its own will. I believe you are familiar with the God of Christianity, Catholicism, Islam, and all other related religions." It was a rhetorical question as she had seen into his mind briefly during the Mana Bridge. Of course, she knew that he learned about the muggle view on the brith of the world. Not even the purebloods are that ignorant of the outside world. "Well He is real."
And queue the TNT explosion going off within his brain.
"It is precisely for this reason that the Domains have Themes. Should they not He will destroy them for trespassing on his creation, only allowing them to exist as a lesser form anchored to His own. In fact, Hell was the first Domain to be established and likewise was the first to learn the hard way why the Theme was so needed." Looking a bit uncomfortable about talking about the Creator, she hurried through the topic.
"Sin entered the world in the beginning and because of that Sin corrupts every Domain to be imperfect." Terra took in a shaky breath to collect her thoughts and ease her nerves. Silus could see that anything discussing God had her on edge so he decided to stay quiet. No point making his guide during this angry about something while she was explaining the basics of this new world he now lived in.
"Now yours is among the strangest of Themes as it was an idea created very recently. The concept of Pokemon has not even extended past 10 years much less the lifespan of a generation. This essentially means that your foundation is constantly changing based on how the source changes itself." Placing a finger on her chin for a moment, Terra pondered something. "Since it is a form of entertainment, you should try to purchase anything pokemon related that comes out. The Core will analyze each and add the relevant data to its archives, updating the effects on its Laws with each new process. Although I would caution on what things are to be introduced as one new addition to a concept can change the whole ideology."
Thinking on that, Silus remembered what the clerk at the store had said. There were other pokemon games currently in stock. 'What kind of changes would occur if I add those to the Domain as well? Should probably go ahead and purchase those sometime this week,' thought Silus.
A snap broke his train of thought. Terra was had her hand right in front of his nose wearing an annoyed look on her face. A giggle also drew his gaze down as his niece could no longer hold it in. She was certainly enjoying how dumb her uncle looked at the moment.

Feeling embarrassed, Silus scratched the back of his head. "Can we move on now?"
Terra gave him a stern look as her arm came down to her side. She looked at Selene, who was covering her mouth in hopes of holding in her giggles, and starts laughing. That seemed to have broken the gates as the little girl immediately joined her.
Faced with the two laughing girls, Silus could only look down with a blush and sigh. 'I have a feeling this is going to be a long day.'
And oh how right Silus was.
The girls had spent quite a bit of time laughing and making jokes at the mans expense. Again and again Silus tried to divert their attention to the Domain, but all that seemed to do was spur them on more.
Finally having enough, Silus decided to ask the Core if they could continue on. "Core, may we continue please. What is it that you require next?" The smallest hint of desperation to move on creeping through his voice.
Host needs to choose the Biome of the floor. However, as the stability of the Domain has been called into question due to the uniqueness of the starting territory, Host must choose from the pre-requisites for the already established Ranch Biome.
"May I view the list, Core?"
An etherial blue rectangle appeared in front of him with a few options listed out. Sadly most were greyed out as they too possessed some unknown requirements, but he determined that they would become useful at a later date. Coming to the barebones, foundation Biomes he found only two out of the three that he could see would be to his immediate benefit.
"Grasslands or Woodlands," The wizard thought aloud. His Companion and niece looking on in amusement. It did not escape their notice that all of this was to distract himself from his growing embarrassment. A quiet high five was shared between the two.
Silus was deep in thought on the implications on how the two options would be set up. On the one hand Woodlands would be better from the various trees, but Grasslands are notorious around the world for being exceptionally large. His mind raced with the possibilities for both before he made his decision.
Turning back to the screen, he slowly pressed his finger down on the Woodland option. Mind made up or not he cannot say he wanted to give a definitive answer with only the names as his information. Everything in his assessment was based on what were found in the real worlds Grasslands and Woodlands.
Trembling could be felt within the Ranch floor as the new Woodland floor was placed on top of it. Suddenly a rush of magic could felt exiting their surroundings through the stairs leading upward. Into the newly established Woodland.
The feeling of magic being sucked away lasted for another five seconds before finally calming down. A tense moment passed as everything on the floor darted their eyes, looking at for anything to happen.
On the other end, the chief was giving out directions to his fellow magicals. Just the his presence alone had calmed many tightly wound nerves that day. A few of his colleagues had their wands out in hand just to feel the familiar wooden handle.
This day would be remembered by all those who thought that with the Dark Lords defeat there was no longer anything to be feared. No longer will they skip out on the optional Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons that the former auror in front of them gives out during the weekend. Originally these were just to keep up their spell casting skills for when one of the magical carnivores somehow escaped their enclosure.
Now?
Now they felt an ancient artifact fill everything around them with so much magic it could be physically seen at their feet. The sight of the ground glowing from so much concentrated magic had never been recorded even the oldest of tomes.
But it would also be the day that they felt the very power granted to them being taken away. Drained away by the very thing that had granted them such a beautiful sight.
"Alright men! Stay within the building," Chief Bridget ordered. The older man had no desire to lose any under his care due to negligence while in an unknown situation. Rubbing his chin in thought, he called out to the most responsible of those assembled before him, "Tompson."
The 24 year old muggleborn straightened immediately. Originally he had the dream of being the Minister of Magic, of wanting to help those by fixing the corruption from within the system. Sadly, he was met with the cold reality of what a corrupt government really was like. Job after job within the ministry denied to the young man for the sole reasoning being his pedigree.
"Yes Sir." He would not let his mentor down.
"I will leave you in charge of this group for the moment. I'll make some round over to the dragon barracks before leaving for the nundu then manticore barracks. As much as I agree with the boss that we need to have some of our people stationed around those enclosures during all of this insanity we are blind." Bridget took a breath to compose himself. While he would like to sit down and figure out what is happening, he has men out by some of the most dangerous magical creatures in the entire Wizarding World out there.
"Even the boss doesn't have an idea what could happen while he activates that core. There is no way in hell I am leaving anyone by those things during all of this. That's just waiting for the cages malfunction, especially now with all the magic getting sucked out of here." Looking down he mumbled to himself, "Don't know if the charms will hold after all that."
Turning to the door, he headed out. Yelling over his shoulder he said, "Can't leave anyone to get eaten when we can do something. Anything!" And with that he was out of sight.
Wizard, witch, and squib all looked at one another then to Jake Tompson. Not really knowing what to do, the young wizard just shrugged and comforted them at best he knew how. "Might as well get comfortable. Not like we can do anything without actually knowing what is actually going on."
Looking from one another they too shrugged. Jake was right, what could they do. Nearly all of them were squibs with only one witch and 2 other wizards. That is a total of 4 wizards and 17 squibs collected all in one building with 15 different offices for the desk jobs. Plenty of room to find a chair and try to relax.
