《Tann Angle's Formula》Investigation

Tann rested the wheeled box that housed the deadly weapon against the wall. Then she took out a notebook (her virtual note-taking ability was lost) covered in her scribbles that consisted of a mixture of cursive and standard fonts.
“Lucky that I have a good memory,” Tann claimed as she flipped into a page with a large title, ‘USEFUL BOTS’. There were a few names including Loci’s.
Using a red pen, Tann drew a start next to Loci’s name, “ That’s my best counter him after I lose my Mind Reading ability.” She laid back and looked at the ceiling, “Seriously, that guy played too much dating simulator.”
After thinking to herself for a few seconds, Tann turned to the blast-proof box and unlocked it. She picked up the weapon and deployed its tripod. Then, carefully, she put the heavy drum magazine onto the chamber and rotated the barrel manually to feed in a shell.

All set, the weapon was well and loaded.
“Right,” Tann pulled out her laptop and a short wire, “how should I control you?” She looked around the weapon and finally found the plug to her wire, “Excellent!”
“Inspector Dex,” a few men dressed in police uniform entered a room filled with files, photographs and test tubes, one of the men who held a tablet started “have you heard…”
“Yes, yes,” near the windows that were made of a few inches of bullet-proof glass, a pale middle-aged man waved his gloved hand, “please take a seat gentlemen.”
“Thank you Inspector Dex,” the men replied and sat among the documents.
“Let me guess,” Inspector Dex took out a small plastic bag and opened it, then, he poured the dried coffee powder into his mouth, “you guys thought that it was not the helicopter’s problem that caused the crash?”

“Exactly Inspector Dex,” another policeman who had a few golden badges on his chest replied, “the tech team had examined the black box, but all the engine status, rudder control, and…other things I cannot remember were in perfect condition…”
Suddenly there was a rapid knock on the door.
“Come in!” Dex shouted.
A girl with long hair that had a similar colour as Inspector Dex entered the room. Her light blue uniform indicated her status as a new police recruit. She shared a glance with Dex and walked towards one of the policemen.
“Sir here is an emergent report from the Department of Technology,” she handed a red folder to the policeman.
The policeman casually flipped open the file, but suddenly his expressions changed.
“New info about the black box?” Dex laughed.
“…Ye…yes,” the policeman uttered.
“Right,” Dex sat up, he turned to the girl, “I think there will be something interesting, so I suggest you want to stay and listen quietly.” Then he turned back to the policeman, “can she stay here?”
“No problem Inspector Dex,” a policeman laughed, “your sister, sorry, Sergeant Dey, is probably the most talented crime fighter since you, Inspector Dex.”
“Thank you,” said Dex, he gestured his sister to stand near the bookshelf beside the door.
“Alright, let me sum up what’s happening,” said the policeman, switching his focus back to his folder, “Apparently, the tech team had made a great mistake: the engine was broken in the last minute of the flight.”
“Hahahaha!” Dex let out a burst of high pitched laughter that caused the glass test tubes to resonate, “Old Candy made an oopsie.”
Seeing the inspector’s reaction, the rest of the policeman started to giggle.
“Well, well, well,” after taming his emotions, Dex looked at Dey, “now, all the proof show that it is an accident, I should better focusing on the serial murder case that is all over the news.” He winked at Dey, “how about let us give Sergeant Dey good training with this task?”

The policeman looked at each other and all nodded, finally, one said, “sure, I’ll get the case filed under Sergeant Dey’s name once I get back to the office.”
“Thank you very much,” said both Dex and Dey.
The two watched as the policeman departed from Dex’s office. Dey stepped towards the door and closed it quickly, “Thanks, big brother.”
“Nooooo problem,” Dex yawned on his chair, “to be honest, I need someone to handle the pressure.”
“Well,” Dey walked towards Dex’s desk, “I should better check with Dr Candy and pay the crash site a visit.”
“Good,” Dex sat up, and pulled out a thin piece of paper from his pile of documents, “however, have a look at this before visiting the crash site.”
Dey took the photo and put it under Dex’s desk lamp. She studied it closely with her large green eyes and looked up to her brother, “This is in the Northern Side right?”
“Yep,” Dex pointed at his bookshelf, “can you please take that blue folder down? Thanks. Now, this is some information about the Northern Side that I gathered over the period. 5 years ago, it used to be the warm bed for gangs and mobsters, but in these 5 years, our police force had broken the majority of them down…”
“Yes,” replied Dey, “and the helicopter was, in fact, searching for the surviving gang members in the area.”
“That’s correct,” Dex gave Dey a thumbs-up, “tell me about the photos.”
Dey pointed at the left-hand corner of the photo, “that building was destroyed, however, it is not destroyed by the crash.”
“Excellent,” Dex clapped, “anything more about that”
“An explosion…”
“Spot on,” Dex stood up from his chair, “I look forward to calling you Inspector Dey.”
