《Star War》Chapter 4

“Master Turi said she found another disturbance in the force,” said Adala to Lada’s master Vori as they walked down the hallway. Vori paused.

“I’ve noticed a slight disturbance as well,” said Vori. “I feel the presence of the Sith is stronger here.”

“Sith? Then why didn’t you tell anyone?!” said Adala. Vori looked confused.

“Well, I was going to, but then I ate a chocolate muffin and the feeling went away.”

“Master, is there a Sith around here?” asked Lada, worried. Vori laughed.

“That’d be wild!” she said, while giving Adala a concerned look.

“Master Vori! I need to speak with you! It’s urgent!” yelled Lada as she sprinted towards the duo. She started panting as she reached them, completely out of breath.

“You’ve gone out of shape,” criticized Vori. “I’ll need to add more endurance training into your plan. You cannot run out of energy.”

“Master *gasp* I need to *gasp* talk to you,” huffed Lada.

“Lada, we’re very busy right now. Can’t you see I’m talking with Master Adala?” she asked. Lada looked at her, beads of sweat dripping down her green skin.

“Lada, go find Karis and practice using the force push,” said Adala, trying to get Lada out of the way. Lada sighed, then hurried off to find her fellow padawan.

“There’s something definitely wrong here,” said Vori. “I can feel it.” Adala sat down.

“I’m not sure what we do now. I already talked to Turi about Karis and disturbances, she agrees that they’ve been happening lately,” said Adala.

“So theoretically if there were a Sith here, what would we do about it,” said Vori.

“Huh. I hadn’t thought about that. We’d probably all get slaughtered within 3 minutes of trying to fight,” said Adala. Vori felt her belt.

“Oh crud, I left my lightsaber with Lada,” she groaned. She and Adala walked towards the training room.

“We don’t have much training against Sith in general,” said Vori. “I don’t think any of us would stand a chance. How did we even get to be Jedi Masters in the first place?” Vori peered into the room. The lights were off. Adala took a step.

“LADA!” yelled Vori, running towards a heap on the floor.

“She’s gone,” said Lada, with great pain. Vori searched Lada in the dark for wounds and found the remnants of two fingers, the wound cauterized.

“Lightsaber wound,” said Vori, narrowing her eyes. “They blew the lights out too.”

“Darn, I spent three hours replacing them all,” said Adala, annoyed.

“I’m not sensing a disturbance,” said Vori. “Whoever came here is gone now.”

“And so is Karis. We have to go find her,” said Adala.

“What about Lada?” asked Vori. “We can’t just leave her here.”

“Lada’s fine, she’s only missing two fingers. And perhaps some bruising. We need to move fast to find Karis before they take her too far,” said Adala. “Don’t you see? This is our opportunity to find out where the Sith lair is.”

“Oh, so losing two fingers is fine, huh? Do you only think about yourself? Our Padawans are in danger! I agree that we should find their lair, but recovering the padawans is our top priority at this point,” Vori replied.

“Two fingers is nothing. Karis got stabbed by a lightsaber,” said Adala. “And she lived through it.”

“It’s not a competition of whose padawan is worse at fighting, Adala,” said Vori. Adala’s face flushed red.

“Ok, so what do we do now?” she asked.

“Obviously, well, we can take an X Wing down to go track them,” said Vori.

“Help,” said Lada but neither of the jedi heard it.

“I’ll leave a hologram in case we don’t return. Lada, only open this if we’re not back in 10 days,” said Vori, tossing Lada a hologram message.
