《Sol-int》Prologue

Logical consciousness before birth, however impossible with the udder lack of brain cells was quite the gift. One could see it as a curse, stuck alone in a dark and near-silent womb for months with little need for rest. Phycological torture for those who couldn't grapple with the thought of such a miraculous time. After all, if such awareness was available before the proper Brain matter was grown them how would one gain consciousness? Well, there is only one simple and miraculous word to describe it.

Magic. Whether it was a highly organized magic system, a chaotic mash of dark arts, or some divine intervention it could be considered to be magic non the less. And magic? Well, one had plenty of time in the womb to discover and train it.

And that was exactly what one would do if they found themselves in such a situation! The rhythmic thumping of a mother's heartbeat provided perfect background noise for a yet-to-be-born baby to train.

One had to simply reach out with their…! own magic swirling within them to….! begin on the magic journey!

Like that! Ah, nope they just moved their limbs...weird. While I(the baby) am trying to touch the incorporeal how about some back story?

Yes! That is right, an exposition dump! Though it is less a dump and more of a quick injection. So, who was I before my presumable death? I have an idea! Those memories are (conveniently) missing, like a good mystery to be discussed at a later date. Oh!

I moved another limb which is a progress of a sort. By the way, I have made no progress on learning magic! Not as easy as power fantasy novels would lead you to believe. The only equivalent would be if you had an invisible muscle that you wanted to flex but didn’t know how to… also that muscle would be very numb. How do I know this? Well, I have already flexed all my other muscles. (even my tail!)

Back to memories! As I was saying, I only got who I was not everything else which leaves a bunch of knowledge about the past earth quite ingrained in my mind! Which then leads me to speculate what my profession was. That being a world-renowned super scientist that has made innovations in literally every field possible! …or I was a Wikiscientia moderator. I’ll believe the former, cause you know… obviously, I am that smart! Despite my groundbreaking legacy-

Thump* What was that…?

Anyways

…I still would have liked to train up a protégé to take my place or at least had more people around me who understood what I was talking about. This brings me back to my death, the machine I was working(?) on was quite complex and would fit right in with unrealistic sci-fi show props. It worked but before more funding would be given it had to be approved by a board of safety that was full of crusty old people to set in their time. Each member was quite famous and had biography written on them which had already been read several times by yours truly.

Although not having the memories explicitly of dying is was easy to assume that there would be a couple of hiccups when testing semi-proven dimensional hopping tech. Like having your 3-dimensional body be obliterated from crossing some 4-dimensional barrier.

The sun peeked over the horizon as Felix lumbered out of his hay bedding and began to make ready for the day. The stove had lightly burned through the night and had turned into mere embers struggling to stay aflame as Felix set some kindling and dry wood to begin boiling some water. He glanced back at his beautiful bride who was still lying in bed having blissful sleep. Her brown hair flared out underneath her and emphasized her upper body. Felix looked to make sure that the water wasn’t going to boil anytime soon and pounced on his sleeping angel.

Kerue suddenly awakened in fright as something jumped onto her and was clinging to her. In a fit of fatigued defense, she hammered away on Felix for a few seconds before his laughter had made her realize who he was.

“What the hell Felix!” She rolled in his arms so they could talk face to face. "You could have given me a heart attack!” Felix reined in his laughter as Kerue continually blasted him with a look of disbelief mixed with annoyance.

“Sorry, sorry. I just couldn’t resist waking my beautiful sun to watch the Sunrise with me.” Felix apologized honestly.

“And you could have not woke me peacefully? You big-oh, my leg-cramp.” Kerue tried to grab her foot but was still in Felix’s grip for a few more moments before he loosened up. She took this opportunity to prop up and straddle Felix. A big grin spread across her face when Felix fell for her trap.

“You know, I’m still not satisfied from last night? Maybe this can deal as punishment for waking me from my sleep too early.”

“I -uh- would love to, but I haven't had anything to drink since last afternoon. Maybe after I have a drink of water?... Dear?” Felix pleaded.

“Mmmmm, no.” Kerue giggled a bit and moved in on her prey.

8 minutes later the water was ready and Felix desperately needed it like a dehydrated man in a desert. Felix and Kerue had a healthy breakfast of bread with the side of hard jerky and after getting dressed they when out to the fields to till and toil with their fellow peasants. Little did they know that they had a special little person in the oven.
