《Naja And The Mysterious Watch》The Passage
Advertisement
Naja started searching where the wind is coming from.
She stood near the storage cabinets, near the frames on another wall, she kept trying until she felt the wind coming from the silver mirror.
She went there grabbed it and pulled it towards her, there was indeed a hole behind it.
She couldn't see what was there because it was dark, and her house light is dim.
She was terrified, her heart was beating fast, because she knew she was never safe in this place, and never will be.
Because of how dark her house was, she bought a cheap small flashlight to find the light switch when she comes back from the work, and kept ot in her bag, along with gun that from the moment she found it she never separated from it.
Having the gun with her, gave her the courage to go through the wall hole.
Naja turned on the flashlight, it was a part of a building, the walls were rough, along with the floor, it was never completed nor covered, electricity wires, and pipes all shown.
It was a long corridor, and kinda wide, like two or three meters wide.
There was a bad smell there, and she saw couple of bugs, and spiders.
The corridor was like the letter L shape, and at the end of it, there was a door.
She opened the door, and found herself in a street behind the building.
The door looked like it belongs to the next building which was so close to the building she lives in.
It was for going out and in unseen, who would suspect that there was an exit in another building and a different street which only had houses, no shops, so hardly anyone there.
She got out to see how the door looks from outside, it looked like a normal house door, with bell button, a door mat, even a name label which was written on it (Mezyan house).
No one would ever guess that this perfectly normal door from outside, was a secret passage leads to apartment.
The door closed by itself, it was the kind of doors that you can open from inside but you need a key to open from outside.
She couldn't open it so she turned around, entering her apartment for the second time.
Again she went through the wall hole, she wanted to make sure that there was nothing she missed while walking there first time, maybe another wall hole that leads to another apartment.

This time she focused the light on the wall, slowly examining it.
There was nothing more, except for a key she found in tiny hole in the floor, near the middle area of the Passage.
There was no way to find this key from far, unless you stand near the wall and put the light on the floor near the edge, and that what she did while checking the place.
She put the key in her bag, went back to the apartment, put the mirror back and sat of the sofa thinking.
It seems the key fall from the killer while sneaking here, or maybe from Mr. Lumar, because the key was covered by dust, which means its been in the place for long time.
The killer coming in the day time, means that he knows that Naja isnt home at the time, which means he is watching her.
Living in the apartment is making things hard for the killer, he needs to keep searching for whatever he is looking for.
Probably soon he will fed up from waiting and end up killing her to search, or he might think that she found it, so he will come after her.
If she tell the police about this passage, most probably she wont be able to stay in the house anymore, but its the only safe way to protect her from that person whoever he is.
She climbed the stairs to the third floor, apartment A12, and knocked on the door.
Mr. Darsen opened the door, he looked really surprised to see her.
Hello, Can you help me find another apartment as you offered last week? Asked Naja.
Something happened? Asked Mr. Darsen looking really worried.
Yes, can you please lend me ten, will pay you later. Said Naja.
Yes of course, one minute, he went inside and cameback gave her the money, and asked: what happened? Do you need help?.
Im fine thank you. And she left in a hurry before he can say anything.
She didn't want to tell him she was going to report to the police that she found a secret passage in the apartment, what if he stopped her because this might make things worse for him, renting the apartment ever again.
She took a taxi and asked for the same police man who questioned her last time.
She told him about the secret passage, but knowing her, he suspected that there was anything like that, maybe a rat hole or something, he didn't believe that she was a sane normal person.

But he sent an officer with her to check it out, just in case.
At that night the apartment was full of policemen investigating the Passage.
Mr. Darsen was upset that Naja didn't tell him about that, but he helped her, by giving her the keys for the apartment next to this one, to spend the night, after the police told them they will take few days to investigate thoroughly.
The apartment walls were white, the light was strong, and it was completely empty.
Naja moved a mattress and some canned food to this apartment along with all her stuff and clothes.
It was a long night for Mr. Darsen and the police.
Next day, the news about the secret passage spread everywhere, and everyone was talking about it.
Naja went to the work like she usually do, she cant take a vacation not after a week of starting a new job.
When she came back, Mr. Barz called her once he saw her, since he was always nice to her she went to see what he wanted.
And as she thought, he was asking her about the secret passage.
Naja didn't say much, all she said that she felt an air coming from behind the mirror and then she found it and reported.
Naja never seen Mr. Barz like this, his eyes were moving fast, he looked really shocked and annoyed.
Naja was surprised, why he cares so much about something like this, unless he knows something.
Naja said: pardon me but I'm tired, see you later.
Wait. Said Mr. Barz nervously.
You should go to another place, dont stay here tonight, best never comeback.
I didn't want to tell you before, because I didn't want to scare you, but before you came here, an intruder used to come and check Mr. Lumar garden.
That place is dangerous, you should've never came here.
Thanks for worrying, I will leave soon. Said Naja
She left and went to the new apartment to rest, changed her clothes and sat down on the mattress, exhausted and scared.
Where to go? She doesn't have money, and Mrs. Artis will tell her to go back to the hostel, she felt like there was no safe place for her to stay any more.
The week was really bad for Mr. Darsen and Naja, and even the neighbors, the police questioned everyone about the door of Mezyan house, no one ever seen anyone coming out from that door.
When the police was done investigating and left, Mr. Darsen told Naja that he found a studio apartment on the roof, in a building close to the library, but kinda of far from this area.
The rent was 90 monthly, he already paid for the first month.
It was empty, no furniture at all, so he gave her the mattress, blankets, pillows, and all the canned food, he even gave all Mr. Lumar clothes, and paid for the taxi that moved those things.
He was really happy to get rid of her, his conscience was making him unable to rest, but finally he wont need to worry about her.
He doesn't want another murder in the building, the Passage was bad enough, who knows if she stayed any longer what she will find, a buried body in the garden perhaps.
He told her that she doesn't have to pay him back the 30 she owe him, and to consider it as a compensation for the passage.
Naja understood that he doesn't want to see her ever again.
The new apartment was clean fortunately, so all she had to do is moving the mattress to the apartment, which was tiring because the mattress was heavy and there is no elevator.
While moving everything she was happy to feel safe again, and sad because she wanted to know who killed Mr. Lumar, and what was that thing the killer looking for.
She ate her dinner slowly, while crying silently, again this feeling of unwanted, unwelcomed, and loneliness.
A few months had passed now, nothing unusual happened, except that Mrs. Richmen started to act in more friendly way with Naja, she still making her work like a slave but she became somehow better.
That was because Naja learned everything needed to be done, and she is doing perfect job, just the way Mrs.Richmen likes, also because Naja never complain or show any unwanted expressions, Mrs. Richmen started to like her.
Naja never stopped from taking the gun with her everyday, maybe because she is totally alone now, she is feeling unsafe, or because what happened in Mr. Lumar's apartment effected her deeply, or maybe just a new habit, but soon she must give it back to Mr. Darsen, once she is able to buy a new one.
She was starting to get used to her new life, until one day something came up that started a new events, she finally knew what the key she found in the passage was for.
