《The Royal Mates》Chapter Eighteen

~Mordikai~
"You need to leave Maverick. Now."
"Awe, is someone afraid to fight? Pathetic." He chuckled evilly and then more and more of his men started to come out.
"What did you tell the rouges you brought with you? That they would get fortune if they helped you out?" He growled, knowing I was right.
"He's only going to lie and kill you. It's smarter for you all to leave now and survive, rather than stay and die anyways." I say lowly. Most of the rouges that blindly followed him were looking at one another with self-doubt. One man actually ran for it but was killed dead by one of Maverick's archers. I growled lowly.
"This battle will go on. I'm taking those girls whether you like it or not. I could even make one of them my mate." I growled even louder this time and he seemed to notice one of them was mine.
"The older one is yours, isn't she. My my, what a pleasant surprise. I'll choose her then." That was all it took for me to lose it. I shifted into my large wolf and charged forward, going straight for Maverick's neck. I was sideswiped by his beta and that was when all hell broke loose.
What really pissed me off, is that there are rules regarding certain races. Since Maverick and I are both werewolves we have to abide by them.
You can not kill the Alpha, Beta or third in command, their spouse or their heirs unless they are challenged for their position. Since Maverick is a rouge, it is no different. I can not kill him because he is not challenging me for my position, he just wants to take my mate and her friend away. That is also illegal, however, people still commit that crime anyways. If you kill any of the three members of power, their mates, or their children, you will be either sentenced to death or sent to prison. If you killed that person in self-defense then your punishment will be considered.

Maverick has already broken one of the many laws that we have.
I felt the power from the wolf that attacked me from the side.
Omega.
I felt nothing as I swiped his neck, ending him quickly. I heard more of my men come in and continue to finish off the rouges. We all saw the ones that obviously did not want to be there flee, and we let them. They did not harm us, therefore we let them be. Another rule is that you have to have a fair trial for someone who trespasses on your land. There will be the supreme Werewolf Court there in order to justify if their reasoning is good enough for them to be killed or not to be killed.
I circled around a different omega this time, and I could feel the fear radiating off of it. It was in the presence of the Werewolf Prince, king-to-be. He was frightened because he knew that he can't back out of this war now. I pounced onto him and in the process swiping at his back, creating deep wounds that were almost fatal. I frowned at my work.
I could do better.
I jumped on top of his back and in a split second I had his throat ripped out, and his bloody body on the ground. I then went to one after the other; omega after omega, fighter after fighter, I was killing them. Their blood covered my body, their bodies covered my land, a few of my men lay there wounded, thank goddess not dead. All of a sudden his final men retreated at the command of Maverick.
"I would think again before you try and fight me and my men. We are stronger than you and anyone you could conjure up. We will always be stronger. We are York's." Maverick had just turned back into human form, putting on a pair of pants and growling. When all of his men were gone, we started to turn back and we told the women that it was okay to come back up, but we needed nurses and stat, some of the training fighters were called in and they weren't ready for an actual fight. They were really good and quite a number of them were hurt. We started moving them to safety when I felt something hit me. All I felt was pain and blood. I looked down and there it was.

A poisoned silver bullet in my heart.
Meant to kill instantly.
However, because of my Alpha blood, it will take longer for the poison to flow through my system, but not too long. I have approximately three minutes until I die.
I never even got to mark Amorelli yet. And now my parents are going to lose both of their children if Amorelli and Zinniah can not help them.
Amorelli needs to know that I love her.
I stumbled into the safe area and everyone was panicking because their future king was dying. And no one knew what to do to help him. Then I smelled her. I felt her presence. Amorelli was here. I heard her gasp, I heard the despair in her voice.
I looked into her eyes and she knew what was happening. She knew I was dying. I then laid my head down, feeling incredibly sleepy.
Three minutes was up.

Again from Scratch Saga: Izmittor Unchained
If someone precious to you needed your help, would you extend it? Would you still do it if it costs you your peace and perhaps even your life? For Tercius, a man mysteriously reborn nearly thirteen years ago, there was only one answer to both questions. Feeling compelled, he sets out to journey to the northern Sogea and its infamous Western Izmittor mountain range, a natural stronghold of sky tearing mountains and deep canyons. Legends about the place abounded, but he knew without a doubt that the hidden valleys, rushing rivers, thick forests, and desolate landscapes hid powerful predators, the likes of which stalk the harsh terrains for an easy source of meat and bones. The many natural dangers of Western Izmittor would be hard enough to navigate safely for a lone traveler, but to make matters worse Tercius had enemies in the heights of Western Izmittor, humans and spirits who would see him dead if they ever learned of his true connection to the Pyramid of Tergaron and the Society of the Magi. To make things even more difficult, he also had to ensure that the true extent of his own Innate Skills remained hidden, for if the prying eyes of the world fell on him and his many secrets came to light, then he would never again know a day of peace. Can one reborn man manage to keep his secrets and still succeed in doing what his conscience compels him to? Will he have to choose one over the other? And can he do any of it without reigniting the sparks of a planetary war the likes of which had not been seen in millennia? Follow Tercius’ story and find out! *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** This story is a continuation of Again from Scratch, a story of mine also posted on RR. Reading it is NOT necessary to read this story, but for anyone who wants to get a little bit more background, here is a link: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/38803/again-from-scratch Again from Scratch was my first journey into writing and I have taken all I learned from that and started writing Again from Scratch Saga, a continuation that is almost stand alone. Flight of Icarus
Most stories are about accidental heroes, people who save the world without even meaning to, but not this one. There was once a person with a name Kirin. For Grass and Glory
Being old is difficult. But losing the love of your life to natural selection and being left in the dirt is even harder. Join Walton in his final journey as he figures out if his principals are just as important when there is nothing left to lose. Combating hypocrisy, youth, bad diet practises and a general lack of respect towards humanity, Walton's struggles are the true adventure of the everyday man. A story about unlikely friendship, being old, unexpected beauty, and the obsession of kicking a round leather ball in the best way possible. A story about a new world, and its possibilities. A story about the grass, and let us hope, a small bit of glory? Author note: This is a project of mine I started in 2016 and recently been writing for again. Writing for me is something I love to do, but can't always find the time for. This is also the reason I have not finished (or come close to) Ethereal Space yet. I get distracted. I started this novel intending to create something else, to break a bit with the current go to's story wise in the litRPG or virtual reality communities. So, this is my attempt at "Something different" I would love feedback or just your general opinion. But most of all, I hope it entertains. Enjoy!
