Shaking myself awake I continue the journey. The light from the crystals fade and darkness welcomes me again. I hate being in the dark, the feeling of the unknown always around the corner. A left turn here, a right there and a drop down. Walls are my one comfort just knowing that a wall is by me comforts me.

I continued down the tight turns until the walls disappeared. I reach out in every direction in front of me but I don't touch anything. Vast open darkness is ahead with unknown waiting. I wait a few moments just staring until flickers of light appear. I take a moment carving an arrow forward then begin to walk into the unknown.

*reh reh reh*

What was that?! I take a moment and focus on listening but I don't hear anything. I play it off as just being paranoid and continue.

*reh reh reh*

It sounded closer this time.

"Scran, is there something following us… scran?"

I checked out the mind magic but it was broken just a string being dragged with. I'm alone in this dark place with something following me.

*reh reh*

It sounds directly behind me.. Nope I'm not turning around. If I don't see it then it isn't there.

*reh reh ch*

Lights flickered at the corner of my eyes but I refused to look. Slowly a figure emerged from my side. So many eyes and huge teeth. If I'm about to be eaten then I won't go without a fight. I stab at the thing with reckless regard to myself hitting hard enough to break the legs. When I finally stopped the face was full of holes. As I fix my composure a mind string connects to me.

"Why did you cut off the connection?"

Scran he's still here, what a relief.

"I didn't. Whatever happened it might be because of that thing."

I point over at the now destroyed face.

"You mean the bug?... I guess it could be. The connection did get broken when it started to follow you."

"Well now that the scare is over, how about a meal?"

Not waiting for an answer I start to eat the bug. Its blood has a slight glow. Eu ek it tastes horrible If I had a stomach then it would be emity.

[Face bug : the bug gets its name for the glowing face it makes in the dark. It has weak disruption magic. : the taste is horrible and is toxic to most creatures.]

Eug yea no kidding about the taste and it's toxic. Well scran can deal with that part. I get back on track to explore.

Although in darkness little lights flicker around. Each one makes the view pretty almost like a night sky.

*snap*

Ouch there goes a leg. Every leg I lose makes me regret this path of evolution. I stab around the area annoyed at the pain until.

*snap*

Why did I even choose this evolution?... Well at least the leg didn't break but something is hanging on. It feels similar to a fish but the shape is more mole-like. The face has a lot more teeth and a bigger mouth. Now if only it can release my leg.

Its teeth are clamped around my leg and it won't let go even after shaking and scratching at it. I dissipate my leg and a thud of it falling follows. I feel around for the meal but give up after a little while. After that I move a lot more carefully not wanting to lose another leg.

I finally get to a wall and follow along it. Finding a hole in the wall. I reach in not wanting to get attacked but when nothing does I travel in. The path is short and opens up again but this time there's light. I travel towards one of the lights, finding it's a plant. The bud of the plant is purple and is glowing. I stare at it a little longer before adventuring deeper.
