《Gary the Mimic》Ch.15 going down

Pov : grale
"You need a supply line into a dungeon. Do you even have routes for safe transport?"
"Currently no but we will protect you from monsters and increase the pay for the trips by 10%."
"Hmm only 10 and needing to endanger my guild members in a dungeon?"
"*Sigh* 15 then, that's as high as I can go."
This darn guy I've been friends with him for so long yet he still gets every coin out of me.
"That's a deal, now off of business I think this will help your changing dungeon. It's free of course."
He hands me a book. Just by touching it I can feel the magic in it. The cover slowly changes from an ice biome to a lava biome. Even text magic is used to show who made it.
[-Warnif Drake]
That's a weird name.
[The desire to go deeper is shown in dungeon monsters that don't suit the climate. Apart from belief dungeons do show slow changes. This change happens from a monster needing a different area to live whether it's a cool climate or a hot one. If no climate is found then it follows the dungeon growth until one is found. This want stretches even monster ment for the cold to go through extreme heats"]
The book is amazingly made and it also has magic put into it.
"Where did this book come from?"
"It came from the deep."
The deep is a city built in a dungeon. They worship the god of monsters and even made text magic.
"Thank you, this helps a lot."
Pov : Gary
I stand over a pitch black chasm that is emitting heat. I would have just gone around it but I want to go down even if it's suicide. Do it for the food, do it for the food. I place one foot on the side of the chasm and it sends searing pain through my leg. The more my legs hurt the more I regret picking this evolution path.

"No time like the present. Right scran?"
"Um sure?"
I stare a little longer. It's just a little longer without site and only a little bit of pain. I begin my decent moving pearly by touch. Pain runs through my legs but I need them to navigate and to stay on the wall.
"I wouldn't walk through that area."
"Huh why?"
It's rare for scran to start a conversation.
"I mean if you want to get eaten alive then I wouldn't go that way."
I use trance but find nothing there.
"What do you mean, I don't sense anything?
"You sure, they're about ready to pounce."
I use trance multiple times but still nothing. Not knowing to trust him or not I stick my leg out.
*crack*
"Holy mother of"
My leg's been snapped in two.
"Didn't I tell you? Wait, can you not see?"
"Well… no, I'm in the blind. I'm using touch and a spell to navigate. Could you help me by telling me when to move left or right?"
It seems like they can see.
"Um sure, move left for a little while."
The descent takes a lot more detours but I hit the floor. The feeling of the ground feels nice and it's much easier to stand. Looking back up a faded light shines and even hurts to see. My sight adjusted to darkness but my vision barely helps even with the adjustments.
I poke around for a while but I can't find a way down. I keep finding a way up.
"Is there a way down?"
"Yep to the left."
I follow him and looking down I find it similar to looking up. A light at the end but the rest is peer darkness. My second descent was much easier with very few detours but the feeling of heat grew, even my body felt like it was being cooked. About halfway down I could see the ground was made of crystal. Finally reaching the temporary bottom I flopped onto the ground although it was hot I didn't want to stand for another second. It was a rough rest considering I didn't cool down but it was a rest nonetheless.

"Thanks for the help."
"Yea, sure."
Scran seems like an introvert for sure : very few words and not starting conversations often. Maybe they're not used to attention or being talked to? At least they keep me from going insane, just having them helps unlike ali.
Feeling a glare from the system I shake out my thoughts and start poking at the crystal but find no easy place to get through. Plan B it is.
I make multiple legs with claws at the end then begin to dig. After just a bit of digging I made headway.
*crunch*
The ground I was stabbing at started to crack.
Just a few more swings.
*crunch*
I hit it and Instantly the crack spread through the entire crystal.
*boom*
A giant wave of pressure and heat hit me. My senses knocked out and by the time I regained them I was on the ground with a bear pelt cushioning my fall and a feeling of burning all over my body. My vision is almost completely gone so I regenerate my eyes. I'm surrounded by rock and shards of crystal but my body isn't injured. I look over my body but nothing seems too damaged. Even my hp seems fine with just one point missing.
"Scran you alright?"
"Yea just a bit injured."
Good nothing too bad happened. Taking a better look around I would say my surroundings are more cave-like with two paths to take. Both would be hard to squeeze through if I was human but it should be easy for me. I give a basic check in both baths one is insanely hot well the other is cold compared to earlier.
I make my first turn into the cold and get introduced with more darkness. I get more legs and start to navigate.
Twists and turns fill my path along with tight spaces. I use my legs keeping them on the walls and sealing. The path is long with pure darkness until I see a bit of light. The source of the light is a crystal small with little light coming from it but it's still better than nothing. I use this moment for a break.

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

(Probably will never edit it... Unless I really want to...)EDIT: Please don't waste your time, this book is honestly trash. I wrote this when I was super young, and inexperienced. I won't delete it, just in case you don't want to heed my warning and you're willing to waste your time. :) Anyway if you do decide to read it, I hope you at-least laugh at how bad and random it is.
