《Rupture - The apocalypse begins》Chapter 7 - Getting up

Erdan looked around and saw everyone getting on with their lives. People began to construct cabins around the dojo central building on the morning, Erdan felt a pinch in his heart from seeing that beautiful garden ruined, but he understood that it was for the greater good.
“Hey Erdan, come here.”
Erdan looked and saw Jinn calling for him. Jinn was all sweaty, and his clothes messed.
“What’s up?” Erdan asked after arriving in front of his friend.
“Now that you’re recovered, you could give us a hand in this construction work right?” Jinn said while a smiling was showing his teeth.
“Well, now that I am better I will.”
It has been almost 10 days since the apocalypse began, and whatever changed the world, brought along many things. One of those was that most of the technology was not functional; the energy that came from the ruptures that appeared on the sky changed the living beings and the atmosphere as well. Long distance signal transmissions was impossible for now, according to what they speculated, the energy in the air interfered with the signals send from the apparatus, making them useless. Cars where unusable as well. The vehicles, which used electronical ignition, didn’t work anymore. Their electronics ignitions were fried, and they needed someone who could fix them to make them work, and in their team, no one got that knowledge.
Samuel shared the knowledge he had with the rest of the people, and helped them understand their powers and how to use them.
From the 27 people from the hospital group, almost everyone awakened an ability, some became stronger while some could even control fire and ice. From the other people powers, they discovered that almost everyone had a specific power, but their strength was different. Taking an example, the head of the security staff, which name was John, had an ice power that was stronger them someone else that awoken the same ability in the team. While he could launch an ice stake and manipulate it to some extent, the other person could only launch an chill wind and manipulate a tiny ice shard.

After arriving back to the dojo, Erdan rested almost all the they and laid down on his bed. He experimented with his powers and began to have finest control of them. Samuel taught him in some cases how to circulate the energy better and use it more efficiently to cure his wounds, and it truly made wonders on him. The wound on his chest that should have been a mortal one originally, or at least should have taken long to cure, was now disappearing without even leaving scars.
The method that Samuel taught him was composed of circulating the energy trough his body to strengthen it, and reunite some more energy on the wound, concentrating it on the cells near the wound to make divide faster and heal better.
Erdan was impressed with his healing speed, but after he saw Samuel test his healings powers near him to now the limit better, he realized that his healing factor was nothing. Samuel could close a cut made in his arm almost instantly, as if it just vanished in thin air. Erdan thought that this healing power, coupled with his master blazing heart technique, would made Samuel an almost unstoppable force, because he could ignore the backslash from using it.
Erdan got up after finally getting his aunt authorization to get out of bed and move.
Arriving near Jinn, he saw him levitating some boards that were used to construct the cabins, and positioning them so that the other man could use.
Looking around, he saw some people cutting and processing the trees into logs and into boards with the apparatus Samuel had in the dojo and some other things they collected on the way. Most of the people didn’t know how to cut process the tree’s. Only the man that got cured on the day of the Rupture knew how to do it, by what he told them, he worked as a mason before. He looked in his forties, had a strong build and muscular body, and was 2 meters tall, had straight hair and sharp expressions. In Erdan eyes, the man looked almost like a bearman, with his huge frame, but his eyes showed a soft expression. According from what Janessa told him, the man suffered from lung cancer, and was at death door before the surgery. His name was Keven.

He taught the other people how to do the work and supervised them. Erdan thought that he was truly making a good work. Looking around there was already three finished log cabins, each one could hold five people at most, but they planned to build five more so that everyone could live more comfortably.
Erdan got near the constructions and helped them by sticking the board together without the need to nail them. He joined them as one with his power, making the structure more robust and strong.
After reinforcing all the tree already finished cabins, Erdan helped the one’s that were still in construction, making quick progress.
By the end of the day, Erdan helped finish two more cabins and got back to the dojo second floor to rest.
Arriving upstairs, Erdan saw that the hospital security leader, Janessa, Diana, Keven, and Samuel were sitting in a circle on the matress, discussing something.
He quickly hid on the stairs and began to listen.
“the supplies that we got on the way are on the verge of ending, we have food for tomorrow.” Diana said with a heavy voice.
“Unfortunately, the situation is like this, but we have to go out and get more supplies.” Samuel said.
“And who would you sugest to go out and look for the supplies?” Asked Janessa looking into Samuel eyes.
“Well, the security tean is the obvious suggestion, but I would like to take Erdan and Jinn as well, they..”
“No! Absolutely not! They are just kids, they can’t go!” said Janessa with fury in her voice.
“Janessa, I now you worry about them, but besides me, they are the most powerfull ones, we need their powers.” Samuel said with determination.
“Erdan just got better, he was near death before, and you still have the courage to tell me this?!” Said Janessa while slamming her hand on the table and looking at Samuel.
“Well, I think I can help.” Erdan said appearing from the stairs.
“What are you thinking boy? You just died and you stll want to fight again?” Janessa said.
“Aunt, i was almost killed not because I am weak, but because I underestimated the enemy and didn’t fight with everything I had, it was my fault as well.” Erdan said with shame on his eyes “But now, I now this, and will never underestimate an enemy again.”
Seeing the resolution in her nephew eyes, Janessa was moved. She saw the determination that was surging on him, the will to become stronger and to fight. It was not the first time that she saw this look in him, and she knew that she couldn’t stop him.
“Sigh, I now that I can’t stop you” Janessa looked in Samuel direction and said. ”if anything happens to him, I will kill you myself.”
Then she got up and went downstairs.
“Well, I think this is settled now, I will talk to the rest of the people.” Said Keven getting up

I hope you enjoy reading my book as I enjoy writing it! It’s a side project of mine and I can currently only write in my free time, which is not a lot unfortunately. I do not know how many chapters a week I will be able to produce, however, the word count will be around 6000-7000 per week. If you like the story you can support me on patreon and read chapters ahead of current release. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: The story might not be for the faint hearted or for those seeking an over-powerd plot guarded golden cow of a mc. The story will start out slowly and will pick up a bit of pace later on on, however, the character/s will walk a long and full of despair road. No sugar-coating in this story. Another thing to have in mind is that I currently do not have a proofreader nor an editor, so some mistakes might slip through my fingers, if you notice any such, please do leave a comment so I can fix them for future readers. Do please enjoy the story and feel free to leave reviews and or comments, I am usually pretty open and would love to answer some of your questions!

Neophyte: Common Route
A story about self-discovery, interpersonal relationships, magic and magical creatures-- and a silent war. Marsha is about seven years past adulthood and still feels like a scared child in her parents' home. This is exacerbated when she discovers her father has apparently keyed up his destructive, sadistic habits-- leading to a mad dash out of the house with precious cargo in tow and only one idea where to go. This begins her journey, leading to a discovery that will change her life forever. And she never wants to go back. (Warnings: Lots of descriptions of abusive, sadistic and otherwise traumatizing and triggering behavior that a parent perpetuated toward a child or multiple children. Descriptions of violence, a main character with emotional issues that will be dealt with, and a whole lot of the 'aftermath' of battles in a war. Even a few descriptions of some of those battles. Things of that nature. If you can't handle one of those, please do not read.) {I had this idea to write a 'common route' and then 'romance routes' like they do in otomes? Book 1 is the common route, and then at book 2, you choose your love interest. Each of which is encased in their own book.}

Dungeon Sect
On hiatus. Just have too much that happen in succession to have regular updates. will keep writing just wont be posting chapters for a while Jade was once a human on earth, many eons ago. He died and went to a cultivation universe. Sadly he was never heaven's choosen with heaven breaking luck. He was average and bland. When his brother was shining light he was the stabling post supporting him. Many sought to take down the light, but knew they were nothing to light so they tried to take down the post. Jade died in the cultivation universe, not without learning more than most in their billion year life times. He was not a genius by any means he was just well learned. Now he is a dungeon, with mana instead of Qi. Still he can cultivate and learn again. Who will he teach and help become a shining light Warning I am not the best writer, and it will take awhile to build to more of an action adventure story with dungeon building as a side as the story will shift from Jade the dungeon to his choosen students I use Cultivating Dungeon, and The bound dungeon as systems to build off of, but the story is all mine
