HER BEDSIDE ALARM RANG FOR A NEW-DAY. Before-Jane opened her eyes, she was annoyed that the goddess-deity Venus had once again-interfered her good-sleep… with her-repeated ‘SOULMATES’ HOOK-UPS in the Dreamworld – when in Dreamtime, where...

… she met Peter each-time, she closed her eyes to-go-to sleep…

… and that annoyed her of intrusion of her ‘own’ privacy.

Peter had ‘changed’ – IT WAS ‘NOT’ THE-PETER ‘whom’ she-once knew…

… this version of Peter was ‘not’ the Possessed-one who was obsessed with his PFC brand – pig-headed into her-participation into his grand-scheme, of his tennis mixed-double pairing-ups…

… this-Peter ‘who’ was there each-night – was-also obsessing that they both should ‘REVISIT’ THE EVIL REALMS OF THE UNDERWORLD – where her blind-self was LUCK-ENOUGH the-last time, to escape-from horrors of that-horrendous place.

-O-

Her alarm rang the 2nd time from snooze mode, where she ‘would’ finally-open her blind-eyes. That-was how she had programmed her AI-Boyyo to give her a-2 minutes leeway, for her to get-ready-mentally as a blind-girl, to leave her bed-to-the bathroom…

It was ‘when’ her AI would-then give her Perth’s weather report, as SIMY-once did and – followed-by the factory-settings recordings of ‘famous’ quote of the day, by famous people like Mahatma Gandhi, Winston Churchill, and some other pop icons like John Lennon and many others.

‘If ‘she’ was still-in bed any time beyond-that – like-it was where, just-as her-former SIMY, her new AI would hurry her-up by calling her names like lazy-sleepy-head and slow-coach…

But, today her-Boyyo was quiet…

“Boyyo! … Boyyo…”

… but this morning, the AI was-refusing to ‘talk’ to her, despite when she called out his name…

… and she panicked when SHE OPENED HER EYES, that was tearing profusely… and her eyeballs were smarting…

… exposed to the BRIGHT SUNLIGHT from the nearby window.

Blind-Jane squinted as she reopened eyes, but can’t…

She remembered her-Oakley sunglasses in her backpack on her desk. Staggering from the Queen-sized bed to her desk, Jane realised that it was ‘not’ her backpack. by ‘feeling-it’ – because, the old one's strap was chewed by her dog-Piper before…

Still, with her eyes-shut-close, her hand ruminated and searched for her sunnies among the ‘other’ unfamiliar content in the backpack…

… ‘gone’ was also the AI tablet – but-it were all-physical books. She wore her Oakley but still ‘couldn’t’ open her eyes… as it-still stings, and Jane felt the ‘smooth’ book-pages…

‘It's not’ in Braille – whose books are these?’

Jane had a panic attack and was further mentally-disorientated and was shortness-of breath.

This was ‘not’ how she studied – and where was-Boyyo her artificial-intelligence study-aid device? …and BECAUSE SHE WAS BLIND and had to use her-fingers if she read-in-Braille, but ‘these’ were…

… ‘NORMAL’ BOOKS, FOR ‘SIGHTED’ PEOPLE…

She panicked, even more, when she-reasoned more…

When she ‘finally’ opened both-her of her smarting eyes, behind her sunnie-glasses to discover – she could make-out sight of nearer objects, which were still-blurry.

“Oh, my Gawd… what’s happening to me…?” Jane exclaimed, and she backed to the wall.

For the ‘first’ time, Jane ‘saw’ around her-room AS A SIGHTED-PERSON – and she cannot recognise her abode, where she had-been living-in, as it was different. Jane saw a lot of large ‘colourful’ posters on the 3-walls of her room…

… but she ‘remembered,’ she had ONLY-ONE POSTER – OF DAREDEVIL which Alicia, had presented to her…

The curious-Jane went to look at the posters – and she had a first-hand ‘discovery’ of how ‘people’ looked-like – of various sizes, shapes and colours which were unique… and they were-individualistic, unlike her pre-misconception, where she only-heard ‘only’ their voices.

From the posters of boy-bands and other singers, Jane was then-attracted by some large shiny objects that were across her-room on the bookshelf. She approached-over, and felt its smooth surface of several of ‘these-thingy,’ and was guessing ‘what’ those-objects were…

… one had a figurine of a girl with the tennis racket – and soon, she-realise…

… those were trophies…

She withdrew her hand-at once, as it ‘puzzled’ her – because the only-trophy she had received was when SHE PLAYED TENNIS WITH PETER in the Mayor’s Cup Challenge…

‘Whose trophies are these?’ She counted there were 8-such accolades, of various sizes.

“JANE ARE YOU AWAKE? I can’t hear the ‘shower’ upstairs?”

It was her MOTHER’S VOICE from downstairs…

Jane freaked-out and put her hand on her chest towards, at-her beating heart – and to-realise she had touched and felt something-strange – realising she ‘now’ had-boobies. She further panicked because the last-time she had those such-boobies…

… was IN THE UNDERWORLD, when she was bride #666… where she was a ‘teenager,’ just-from ‘last night’ in that-realm.

‘Oh my god – what is going on!!?’

She rushed to the bathroom mirror – and saw her reflection and she gasped on how-she looked FOR THE FIRST-TIME: and saw her taller-self, with big-blonde hair with freckled-face – and her big-boobies too, under her pyjama-top.

‘… what is happening to me!!?’

She looked down-at her normal-arm, and recalled she had a ‘fractured’ when she fell on the stone-steps ‘yesterday’ during the-stampede of PFC-Rematch – and Jane remembered that she was taken to the hospital, and the put a cast over it… it was ‘there’ when she slept last night in her Wilson home…

… but ‘not’ now…

‘… now, how is that possible?’

“JANEE!”

It was her mother’s voice again…

“Yes, Mummy – I’M UP!” Jane acknowledged, to the familiar-voice.

She took a fast-shower, without any-use of soap nor of any use of-her products for her pimples and freckles… where she then-RECALLED HER FORMER-SIMY AI who had said-yesterday – that ‘nothing’ scientific logic made any sense in the Underworld…

… but this was ‘HER’ WORLD-REALITY ‘not’ the Underworld – but why was these ‘HAPPENINGS’ NOW-HERE made ‘no’ sense…?

Jane also recalled SIMY’s advice in the Underworld – TO ‘PLAY-ALONG’ – when she was taken to the honeymoon-suite, as the last-bride…

‘… yes, I must play-along – and OBSERVE AND TRUST my instincts…’

Wet in her towel, Jane stepped out the bathroom and headed to her wardrobe closet to find a uniform. It was ‘not’ the ones she had used for Middle School. She dressed-up, as a senior…

… Jane even noticed that there was a swimming suit in ‘pink,’ hanging in the closet when she searched for a brassier to wear. She learned by observing the colour-pink because she knew the colour off her-2 beacons of the Cursed Trio when using her 3rd-eye…

… where Peter who glowed in ‘red,’ and Paul was ‘blue.’

She looked at her arms, which were no longer ‘glowering’ yellow – which meant her cursed-gift of her 3RD-EYE WAS ‘GONE’ – and so was her DIAMOND SHAPED -SCAR, on her forehead…

After dressing up she went to her desk, and took her-backpack of ‘normal-sighted’ books…

‘I don't recognise alphabets, but HOW BAD CAN IT BE? It is just 26 of-them alphabets… and 10 numeric-digits to master – before I can figure it-out ‘reading’ in school studies.

‘… maybe I could ask Paul for a crash-course in reading – like how he taught me to fly.’

… and, speaking of Peter and Paul she could ‘not’ feel-their aura either like she used to…

‘… what is happening to me? The Cursed-trio could-feel each other’s good and bad emotions before – so that, we were ‘alerted’ to danger, to come-to-aid to each other…’

Jane thought maybe she had LOST ALL OF HER SUPERPOWERS which was ‘gifted’ to her for the past 2 months… where she had used it to ‘RESCUE’ PERTH-CITY on several occasions with her Cursed-trio counterparts – from SEVERAL NATURAL-DISASTERS by the axis-of-evil…

… Asmodeus, BlackStar and Popobawa…

Before she had the next-panic attack, she motivated herself with good-thoughts given by SIMY – which WAS TO ‘PLAY-ALONG’…

-O-

She opened her room door – and paced-to the count in-her head of 15 steps, to the stairs like a blind girl. Jane heard 2 distinct-voices coming from below in-the kitchen – it was her mummy voice and a young-grown boy’s voice arguing below. Wearing her Oakley sunnies, she came down the stairs, and hearing-along the way…

“Mummy, stop calling me Boyyo.”

“That’s your pet-name – do I have to call you by your real name, Samuel?”

“Just call me Jaheem.”

Jane stood still with her mouth gaped – it was the first time ‘seeing’ her mother physically, as a middle-aged woman, at the stove making pancakes and was ‘joking’ with an afro haired school-uniformed, tween-boy of coloured-skin…

‘How is it possible, Samuel was ‘only’ 2 years old, when I ‘saw’ him yesterday…’

“Jane, come-have your brekkie.”

“Hey weirdo, why are you wearing sunnies indoor – wanna be like your-superstar Beyoncé?” The chucking Samuel asked.

Both her mother and brother ‘stared’ at her awkward behaviour.

“… my eye-hurts… I got shampoo in my eyes…” Jane lied.

Shelley put 2 pancakes on a plate and served her. Jane asked her mother while staring at her mother’s boobies, which were big-as hers…

“Where is Lola?”

“Who is Lola?”

Samuel chuckled again and teased his sister…

“There she goes again – seeing her ‘imaginary’ folks!”

“Samuel, stop teasing your sister – and go feed your dog before you go to school?”

“Piper, is-he here?”

“Who and what-the-hell is a-Piper?”

Said the Black teenager of 12 years of age, in his SHS uniform, who then-left the table – with the curious Jane following him to the backdoor. He opened the door’s latch and – Jane saw a Belgium Malinois in Piper’s cage, and heard her brother calling out…

“Hello, Kitty?”

“Sam, where are her puppies?”

“What bloody-puppies…?”

At once, Kitty barked fiercely at Jane, when it saw her-presence…

“Just get lost-Jane, my dog doesn’t like you!”

Jane came back to the kitchen dining table, and found a middle-aged man in a suit, sitting and having his coffee. He spoke up…

“Hello, my little sunshine.”

Immediately Jane recognized her father's voice – and she ran up and hugged him. and cried…

“Oh, daddy you are alright? I missed you… you were at the hospital yesterday?”

“What hospital?” Replied Anthony in surprise.

“Isn't it you-having a stroke? I…I… I visited you, with mummy?”

“What stroke? Jane, I’m fine… maybe you had a bad dream…”

Both parents looked at her odd-behaviour…

“Jane, have you taken your meds? her mother asked

“What meds? Am I sick? But I feel well, to go to school.”

Samuel came back, after feeding his dog and he heard his sister. He laughed…

“There she goes again? Same ‘denial – every-single-day…” The black boy was tickled.

“Boyyo, don’t make fun of your sister – she is ‘sick – you should be the one taking care of her.” Shelley cautioned her laughing son, who replied…

“Why are you doing this to yourself, Sis? You have to take your medicines, for your chemical imbalance…”

But Jane cut him off…

“What chemical imbalance?”

“Sheez! So that you won't go acting-crazy at school… don’t you know how embarrassing you-are at times… they make fun of me, for being ‘your’ brother – well… luckily I’m adopted!”

“I have to go to work…” Anthony then left the table, at middle-of-the tensed-situation.

The mother spoke-calmly to the ‘confused’ daughter…

“Jane, it has been a repeated-cycle every day... what is wrong with you every-time and every moment ‘when’ you make the same-excuse to ‘not’ taking your depression pills? You’ve to get well, and it all depends on you to take them, every-day. Please be a good girl and cooperate.”

Tears welled in the ‘frightened-and-confused’ Jane’s eyes, behind her sunnies...

“… yes, mum…I will be… your-good girl…”

She hugged her mother – and Shelley guided Jane to her plate of pancakes.

Jane sat and drank her glass of water, AND NOTICED 4 MEDICINE TABLETS, of various sizes and colours, on the table. She popped it-all, in her mouth as Shelley looked on.

“Okay good, I’m off to the clinic – both of you lock-up, before you leave – and Boyyo don’t stress-up your sister, while she is ‘driving.’” Shelley left the house, after her husband.

Jane ‘almost’ had a panic attack, when her mother said, that ‘SHE’ WAS DRIVING to school on her ‘own’… everything had not’ been well ‘today’ – on the first day of being a normal-sighted teenaged-person… although she left her room moments-ago, with a confident and positive note of SIMY’s PLAY-ALONG AND OBSERVE…but…

‘… how am I to drive, when I don’t even know how to?’

“Come-on, chop-chop you slow-coach – the road to Amboy will be a choker if we are late.” Samuel hurried her… Jane had to find an-excuse…

“I’m not feeling good, Sam – can we call up a Uber-ride?”

“What? No! You drive!”

“Seriously Sam, I’m having dizzy-spell… and I can’t seem to know how to drive…”

“You have forgotten how to drive? Why you have Alzheimer’s-out of the sudden? Sheez! What’s WRONG WITH YOU-people here…?

“… every Wilson-household has some-type of disease – you getting-Alzheimer, Mummy having cataracts – it’s a good thing my Kenyan-genes are strong – yea, I’m glad I’m adopted too… okay, let me drive!”

“What?”

Jane saw the black tween exiting the kitchen, and she chased after him… Samuel reached for the car-key in the shallow-bowl, on top of a fancy-polished cabinet. Jane dashed-in and caught his hand…

“Can you drive? But are you old-enough…?”

“Hey-Sis, come on – IT’S YOU WHO taught me how to drive, remember…?”

-O-

The Wilson siblings came outdoors and Samuel locked the front door, and proceeded to an orange coloured Ford Taurus, parked on Wilson’s driveway…

“Sam, are you sure you can drive – you are underaged…”

“Come-on, don’t jinx-me, Jane… I can handle a model-T fine.”

Inside the cabin, Samuel adjusted the seat to-fit his long-legs, and switched the stereo to some Hip-Hop tunes, and drove his ‘worried’ sister to school.

-O-

On the journey to Stamford High School, a-jumpy-Jane was having a bout of an anxiety attack on the FIRST DAY OF HER ‘SIGHTED’ adventure. Everything is moving too fast and occasionally she had to shut her blue-eyes behind the Oakley sunnies, as she was feeling car-motion sickness…

… and Samuel’s MUSIC ISN’T helping-too…

… with the loud thumping and deep-bass PLAYING-OUT – AND THE LAST-TIME she was ‘faced’ such loud music was in CLUB VIRGO in the Underworld…

… where SHE WAS ‘UNDERAGED’ – and was accompanied in the club, by SIMY with her mummy’s voice…

Her eyes were still was tearing-a lot in the bright-morning lights despite her-using the sunglasses. In her mind, lots-and-lots had HAPPENED OVERNIGHT which she was still-processing as a passive observer. Maybe she would think-clearer and comprehend-better when she met-up with her close-friends, OF ALICIA AND PAUL in school later…

… but she doesn’t know ‘how’ they-both look like-too – but – she ‘knew’ their voices…

Samuel’s one-hand was on the wheel, and-was rapping-along with his Gangsta-tunes, and gesturing with his other hand.

Jane silently-observed him…

… how he had ‘grown’ – from a cherubic 2-year-old, who then was so-into his Jungle Book obsession…

The elder sister wanted to gather as much-intel, on this strange-realm, where she knew was ‘not’ her – unlike her ‘comfort-zone’ realm, where she had-SOME CONTROL as a B-girl…

“Sam, can I ask… you said just-now that Mummy is going for her cataract operation – when is that?”

The afro-tween turned the stereo volume down…

“What? You don’t know-when!!?”

“Come-on Sam, help-me a little here – I’m forgetful…”

“Hmm, 3 days from now.”

“…ooo… and Daddy, is he really okay?”

“Other than his high blood pressure and cholesterol levels – he-seems okay – unless you don’t stress him out!”

‘… huh… I stress him out?’

In her-realm, it was Samuel’s near-miss abduction by the criminal Hajji – for the 2nd time… that gave her-daddy a heart attack, and he then stroked-out – the ‘details’ which ‘her’ Mummy-told her, back there…

“I stress him-out, how?”

“Come-on Jane – Daddy loves you the most, as the eldest. Please don’t let him down, Sis – study-hard, and don’t only focus on ONLY PLAYING TENNIS, although you are the #1 Girl’s player in school. The ‘problem’ with you… is that-you do things, only-half way-through, and-you then lose interest…

“… if-it is unless you have bigger dreams, and go all the way-up in BEING A WORLD-CLASS PLAYER if ‘not’ – focus on your studies-too, right-Sis? And that will make Daddy happy… and he won’t get a heart-attack like you had-in your bad dream, last night.”

Jane was stunned and-felt giddy WHEN SHE HEARD THAT – where-that playing tennis was PETER’S DREAMS and his-glamour obsessions – but it-was NOW-IT WAS HERS in this earth-reality…

… where she could ‘see’ like a normal person.

Her reveries-broke of seeing the many-trophies in her bedroom – when her tween brother added, as he drove the Ford…

“And also, please-please-please don’t keep associating with those Walker-twins – they are BAD INFLUENCE ON YOU. They can get-away by doing whatever wrong which ever-way they want in Perthland, because they have police-parents but you… you’re ‘not’ so lucky…

“… remember how you 3 were drunk and created a ruckus – and Daddy had to bail you out? PLEASE KEEP AWAY from them both, like the mad-cow disease!”

Jane Wilson was quietly was processing of-what KIND OF ‘VERSION’ that she had-been as a sighted-person with the company of Cursed-trio counterparts…

… to-which was ALL-REBELLIOUS TEENAGERS in nature…

… unlike, where she came-from – she had ‘not’ tasted even a drop of alcohol… in her tween-life, because her mummy was strict-over there.

-O-

And before-long, the Ford was parking at the front of Stamford High school… Jane saw the bigger-than-life SCHOOL BUILDING FOR-HER FIRST TIME, with the influx of chatter bug, of uniformed students in-and-out…

… and around, like working ants…

… it was so-daunting for her – and she had a panic attack, and had difficulty breathing.

“Come-on Jane, what you’re waiting for – school is about to start.”

“Sam, I can’t – I want to go home…”

“WHAT!!? You ‘go’ home-on your own.”

The pissed-off, Samuel tossed the car-keys on her lap and was about to open the car door, to exit-out the car’s cabin. Jane immediately grabbed his arm…

“Wait, Sam-please… it’s my meds… wait for me…” She lied.

“Now-what?” He saw her still-seated, taking a couple of deep breaths.

“Okay-okay…I’m ready now…”

Jane was self-motivated by remembering SIMY’s advice – to PLAY-ALONG...

“Okay Sis, what-ever you do-today, play nice…”

Jane nodded.

“… especially, to my girlfriend – you-are always mean to her.”

“Okay.”

‘… who is Samuel’s girlfriend?’

“Hey-Sis, you didn’t pack your tennis racquet today, did you forget?”

“I come to school TO STUDY ‘NOT’ TO PLAY tennis.” Was-Jane’s immediate response.

Samuel’s eyes rolled, and thought she was being cynical – and chuckled…

“Yeah right, you do.”
