I could hear the music from down the street as my driver slowly pulled up to her house.
“Your father wants to know when you will be home”
“Tell him I am staying for the night,” I said looking at the flashing lights from her house.
“Are you ok miss?”
“Yes, sorry umm have a goodnight” I slowly climb out of the car my dress gently hitting the ground after each step, As I walked I tried my silver mask on below my bun. I sighed deeply as I walked up the steps to Emily's house a few people were outside picking out a mask from the table I kept my head low as I passed them and opened the door to her house. I looked around at her and saw her in the middle of the room talking to people, she looked my way and crouched slightly squealing as she ran towards me.
“Oh my god Ali you look so hot!” She said excitingly as she reached me.
“I am not comfortable here in this dress” I mumbled to her she laughed it off.
“Come on girl you're probably the sexiest girl in here now come on go mingle.” She pushed me slightly into the crowd as she ran off to talk to some guys. I looked around the room for a familiar face but it was harder with all the masks in the room.
“Well hello beautiful” I looked behind me at a guy with slicked back blonde hair and a black tuxedo.
“Hi.,” I said quietly and he leaned a little closer to me.
“Do I know you?”
“Wow, do you use that line with all the ladies?” I scoffed and took a step to the left but he moved into my way.

“Hmm no only the beautiful one”
“Whatever” I turned around and walked the opposite way towards where the drinks were. I stood around the table looking at everyone dancing and laughing. I sighed and moved a stray hand away from my face and turned around bumping into someone.
“Oh my gosh I'm so sorry….” He looked down at me his black hair slightly covering his face.
“It was my fault,” I said and took a step back.
“S-sorry to be blunt but. You look very lovely” I laughed and looked away.
“Wow let me guess you're a friend with the blonde douche over there I said pointing at the guy from earlier.
“N-no not at all” He kept his eyes locked with mine as bowed ever so slightly.
“May I have this dance?” he asked smiling sweetly.
“Alison come here real quick!!” I heard Em yelled and I took a step towards her
“Umm give me a second,” I said to the black haired guy and walked over to Emily.
“Whats wrong?” I asked looking at her.
“Whos the hottie you were talking to” She giggled
“You pulled me away… to ask me that?”
“Yes,” She said smiling I laughed and looked over at him.
“I don't know his name but he asked me if I wanted to dance” I smiled at him as he waved slightly.
“Then go dance” She once again pushed me and I growled slightly before looking at everyone dancing. On the right, I saw the blonde douche from earlier and on the left, I saw the back hair guy they both looked at me oblivious to each other as they held out their hands as if asking to dance I looked between the both of them then looked down sighing.

I just had an idea and decided to run with it. I usually plan excessively before I start a fiction, but I don't have a plan this time. It takes place in the same universe as the Exsanguinate fiction, but doesn't really have any links to the other books.
