《[Kengkla x Techno] Unfinished Business (Love by Chance Fanfic)》Chapter 4 - Part 1

Techno's first instinct is to avoid going to Kengkla's home at all costs, but he thought taking Kengkla back to his house was a worse idea. He intended to ditch last minute and come up with an excuse, but apparently, Kengkla let Technic borrow his car, leaving the other rideless. It was almost too coincidental, but it seemed like Kengkla let his friends use his car pretty often, or maybe just Technic.
When he eventually agrees to take Kengkla home, Techno thinks to text Type first and let him know he couldn't drive the other home, but Type beats him to it. He's trying to send a text while walking out of the mall when a message flashes across the screen. It's brief and Type's style.
Type: Tharn got off work early. See u later
There's nothing particularly interesting about the text itself. Tharn worked part-time at the mall, and Type clearly took a call earlier, meaning they probably met up. But Techno frowns down at the screen in realization: he just ran out of excuses to take Kengkla home. When Techno looks up from his phone, Kengkla is staring at him with a smile as they walk toward the exit.
Techno looks away to the mall doors, avoiding Kengkla's gaze, and pulls his hoodie tighter, trying to conceal the marks on his neck as they pass a crowd. He's probably overreacting, but Kengkla's words keep replaying over and over in his head. "You didn't want to take off your hoodie in front of everyone." It was true. He felt like a lamb herded into a corner where the only way out was facing a wolf.
This wolf seems so harmless most of the time, but then there are times like today when he seems like he's hunt. It's confusing and awkward, and when they walk out the doors, the sound of Kengkla's voice makes Techno's chest constrict in unnecessary panic. "Where's your bike, P'No?"
Then there are times where the wolf is nothing more than a puppy. "Right there, Ai' Kla," Techno answers with a laugh, pointing at the only bike in the lot.

When a hint of red rises to Kengkla's cheeks, Techno feels his own heat at the sight, surprised to see the other blush. He clears his throat as they walk toward the bike, stopping to the side of it. There are two helmets on top of the seat, and while someone could steal them, Techno often forgets to bring them inside. Luckily, no one's stolen them yet.
As he fishes for keys from his pocket, Techno realizes that if he was driving then Kengkla would be the passenger meaning-
"Is this mine?" Kengkla asks, grabbing one of the helmets.
Techno nods, unable to give voice to his words, while his heart hammers in his chest. He makes use of his hands and pulls his helmet off the bike before putting it over his head. As he adjusts the straps, he turns to look at Kengkla, making sure the other is putting the helmet on correct.
When Kengkla gives him a smile and adjusts the fit himself, Techno straddles the bike while leaving enough space for Kengkla behind him. After checking his feet are in the right places, he grabs the handlebars and glances over his shoulder. "Gonna' get on or what?"
Kengkla stares at him for a long moment. He really is blushing now, Techno thinks. Kengkla doesn't answer and blinks like he's trying to collect himself. Then he lifts one leg over the bike and seats behind Techno. There's a moment of hesitation, or maybe it's just Techno's anticipation before Kengkla's leaning in and pressing his hest against the line of Techno's back.
Techno moves on instinct and not logic, reaching back without looking to grab Kengkla's legs and pull the other closer against him. Kengkla wobbles for a moment as he leans in closer before wrapping an arm around Techno's waist. His rests his chin on Techno's shoulder, and Techno's entire body goes taut.
"Ready?" Techno chokes out and turns the bike on before the other can answer. Kengkla hisses, tightening his grip as Techno begins driving toward the exit.

Techno swallows hard and finds the voice to say, "I need your address, Ai' Kla."
He probably should've asked sooner, but he was a bit busy trying not to panic. "2 Sukhumvit Soi 57," Kengkla answers and presses his face between Techno's shoulder and neck. The warmth of the other's breath makes Techno shiver.
"Okay," Techno offers while he tries to focus on something other than the proximity of Kengkla's mouth near his neck. But as he drives the bike away from the mall, down the street, there's no shift in movement from Kengkla. With each minute that passes, Techno begins to wonder if Kengkla is scared.
But it's too difficult to speak and ask because of the loud motor, but he doesn't think he has it in him to have a conversation anyway. Instead, he lets himself have a self-satisfied smile. Wondering where the scary wolf from earlier went, Techno maneuvers through the busy streets, watching the buildings around them quickly flyby. One by one, they disappear.
Soon residential houses and electricity poles surround them, leaving the commercial buildings behind. Techno briefly wonders if they should stop and buy food, but he doubts the other's kitchen would be too empty. Then he wonders why he's even thinking about staying for dinner. Here's going to chat with Kengkla; that's all. He notices Kengkla's grip has begun to loosen slightly and wonders if the fear wore off.
As they enter Kengkla's neighborhood, Techno notes the large houses and expansive yards, much different than his own. He almost feels awkward driving his bike into the area, but the street numbers begin counting up, closer and closer to the one Kengkla told him.
The address Kengkla gave him is to a large house with a gated entry, but it's not a typical fence but one with stature that screams money. Techno pulls to the side in front of the gate and carefully parks the bike before turning it off. Kengkla tenses against his back, grip tightening like he's waking up after a drowse. It was only a twenty-minute drive at the most.
It makes Techno laugh, affection too warm in his chest to stay silent, and Kengkla finally lets go. "This is it, right?" Techno asks with no preamble, standing up from the bike and taking off his helmet. He sets it on top of the bike and tells himself there are better things in this neighborhood to steal than his helmet.
"Yes, P'No." Kengkla says from behind. "Is it okay?"
Techno glances over at Kengkla and notes his concerned expression. "Oi, of course, it's okay," He laughs. "You live in a damn mansion, Ai' Kla."
He's expecting the other to laugh. But it doesn't come. "I like staying at your house better, P'," Kengkla says instead with such a serious tone that makes Techno's heart stutter in his chest.
Trying to cover his emotions, Techno huffs and crosses his arms over his chest, looking anywhere but at Kengkla. "My house isn't as nice. Come on, yours is crazy big," He argues.
Kengkla hums. "But my house doesn't have P'No," He says with a grin and walks past Techno to the fence, waving his keys in front of a box until the gate opens. "Until today," Kengkla adds quietly, face unreadable with his back to Techno, who can feel his face surge into flame at the words.
...
Thank you so much for all the feedback and likes. I appreciate all of you. I feel so inspired by each comment.
What do you think? Is Techno making a huge mistake going into the wolf's den?
Before you ask, yes, Kengkla really did fall asleep behind Techno on the bike. <3
