《Wizards - Douxie x OC 1 (Complete)》Chapter 12: allies

"We need allies in the war to come." Merlin says.
"Our enemies are many, but how will we face them alone?" Father asks Merlin. "I am a king with half an army."
"Then we go to the good trolls." Douxie tells father.
Father looks at him, notices our joint hands, smiles at me softly and nods.
------------------------------------------------
Claire opens us a portal and we see Vendel about to remove the onyx shard from Jim.
"Hey, that's my boyfriend you're operating on!" Claire says angrily as we walk through the portal.
"Oh! Humans! Sound the alarm!" Vendel shouts.
"Hold! Please, Vendel of Dwoza." Father says as he exits the portal. He goes down on one knee "I humble myself before you. Camelot needs your help."
Vendel leads us outside and gathers the other trolls as fathers knight stand guard before father and Vendel.
"Gunmar the Black's swarm of Gumm-Gumms are ready to strike." Father explain as Douxie walks along the row of knights, to see what's going on.
"The monsters seek vengeance on both our kind." Father explains and Vendel turns to face him.
"And after all you've done, you expect us Trolls to fight this war for you?"
"No, not for me; with me, as equals." Father clarifies.
"Glorkus me!" Vendel says sarcastically.
"I vow, if we win this war, we shall live in peace." Father vows.
"Gumm-Gumms are terrifying warriors while we are but humble gravel miners. How do you expect us to ever defeat Gunmar?" Vendel asks.
"We will give you a secret weapon." Father replies.
Douxie, Claire, Jim and I try to get too closer to listen, but a guard shoos us away.
"You really think they can work this out?" Jim asks skeptically.
"They have to, or everyone in Camelot and Dwoza are doomed." Douxie answers.
"Then so is saving history. Great." Claire says.
"I assure you; all will be fine once I've completed my amulet." Merlin says as he walks over to us. He looks at Jim "So this is the once and future trollhunter I've heard of. May I have a word, alone?"
"Um, sure." Jim nods and says to us "be right back." before going with Merlin.
Claire looks at Douxie questioningly but Douxie just shrugs.
After a while we walk over to them.
"Hey, is everything okay? What are you talking about?" Claire asks and Jim answers.

"Oh, um... nothing. Just Merlin prepping me for the trip home." Jim reassures Claire.
My eyes widen at that and Douxie and I ask at the same time "Wait, wait, wait, you finally finished the Heart of Avalon? It's working?"
Claire quietly awes at us talking in sync "you two are too cute sometimes." She says and smiles at me. I feel my cheeks heat up with a blush.
"Indeed." Merlin meanwhile answered our question. "But first, we must survive the battle to come."
Father then calls Merlin "Wizard, we've reached an agreement. Now you must convince the crowd." Merlin nods and speaks to the trolls.
After Merlin success in convincing them the crowd cheers. Merlin the pulls Douxie and me to the side.
We're walking down a dimly lit tunnel as Archie says "Well, it seems we may have a shot at surviving this after all."
"One shot is the best I can offer." Merlin says and we slow to a stop where Claire and Jim are.
"When Killahead activates, it shall unleash a surge of magic across the realm." Merlin explains.
"Just enough to power the Heart of Avalon for a trip through time." Douxie concludes.
"But only one, which means everything must go according to my plan." Merlin says strictly. "Hisirdoux, with me. I need your assistance." Merlin says and continues to walk.
Douxie gives me a peek on the cheek and follows Merlin.
"Claire, could you open me a portal back to the castle?" I ask he after she returns with Jim.
"Sure, thing Mailin." Claire smiles at me, opens a portal and I walk through.
Once I'm back at the castle I immediately walk to Merlin's room, sit down next to the door and wait for Douxie.
After what feels like forever the door opens and I jump to my feet.
"Mailin, what are you doing here love?"
"Waiting for you, obviously." I then notice he's holding something, and my eyes widen "is- is that a staff? Your own staff?"
"Yes! I am now finally a master wizard with my own staff!" Douxie says cheerful with a big smile on his face.
I let out a whoop and tackle him in a hug "I'm so happy for you honey!"
Douxie laughs and hugs me back. He gives me a quick kiss, takes my hand and interlaces our fingers. I smile at him, and we follow Merlin back to Dwoza.

Back at Dwoza, after gathering the trolls, Merlin speaks while Douxie holds up the amulet.
"Today, the amulet will choose one of you to defend your people, to hunt these trolls who have betrayed your kind. You will no longer fear the daylight. You will wield it as the Trollhunter." Merlin explains.
"For the glory of Merlin... awake." Douxie says and lets the amulet go. It fly's around and chooses Callista.
"Uh, I think your amulet has the wrong Troll." Callista says as it hovers before her.
"No, the amulet does not make mistakes. For whatever reason, it has chosen you." Merlin says. Callista holds the amulet and gazed at it in wonder.
"Speak the incantation. Find your purpose, the savior of our worlds." While Merlin says that Douxie and I step up next to him.
Callista scoffs "Me? I've never been chosen for anything." She starts to speak the incantation but the other trolls shout at her in anger which results in her throwing the amulet away and running off.
The Trolls shout at us to leave.
"The amulet Chose Callista?" Archie asks surprised.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, wasn't Deya the first Trollhunter?" Claire asks confused.
Douxie and Jim walk up to where her, Archie and I are standing.
"Either way, without one, Killahead will be a bloodbath." Douxie says worriedly.
"I think I know where Callista went." Jim says, Claire opens a portal, and they walk through to find her.
"What about the king?" Archie asks me and Douxie after the portal closed. "Doesn't history need him at Killahead as well?"
"Don't worry, I'm on it." Douxie says and we go outside to find Father at the cliff, where everything went horribly wrong. His crown is laying in the grass and his sword next to him stuck in the ground.
I sit down next to him on the right and smile at him softly "hello father."
He sighs sadly and turns away.
Douxie picks up his crown as he walks over to us. He stands behind father "Reflecting, my king?"
"I was convinced magic had taken everything from me..." Father sighs deeply "but it was my own doing."
I lean against him and comfortingly squeeze his hand "I'm still here for you father, no matter what."
Father tries to give me a small smile "I tried to protect my people at the expense of so many other." Father closes his eyes sadly and Douxie sits down in his left side.
Father looks up at where Aunt Morgana stood before she fell "Morgana was right. She wasn't evil. I was."
Douxie lays a hand on his shoulder "It's true you've done... questionable things, but the fight's not over yet." Douxie gets up again "there's still time to make things right for those you've wronged. Help me save them."
Father looks up at him "Who are you, boy?"
"I am Hisir- I'm nobody." Douxie says sadly "History won't remember me. Stories won't be told about me,"
I feel tears forming in my eyes, wanting to yell at him that what he's saying is wrong.
"But I won't let that stop me from fighting for what is right." Douxie continues and I smile as a tear rolls down my cheek.
"You are Arthur Pendragon. No matter what happens today, I know for a fact that your story will be told. But it's up to you what legacy you leave behind an epitaph... or a legend." Douxie says and holds out father's crown to him.
"But who will stand with me?" Father asks skeptically.
"Galahad, stands with his king!" Father and I turn to see many knights riding up to us.
"I will stand with you!" Sir Lancelot shouts.
"Sir Steve's got your back, King-o!" Steve says while riding on his cow.
"And I." Douxie and I say smiling. Father takes his crown and smirks at Douxie before glaring at him for a second while whispering "you better take good care of my daughter, or I'll have your head."
"Father!"
Father chuckles and puts on his crown while walking towards his knights, leaving a scared and shocked looking Douxie behind.
"Then let Camelot be remembered as the warriors we were born." Father takes Excalibur and the knight's cheer.
It's dusk when we reach the battlefield, which is a valley located between a cliff and the edge of the forest.
Thousands of Gumm-Gumms are standing on the cliff, roaring.
"One King cannot stand against and army, Arthur!" Gunmar shouts.
Merlin, Douxie and I run up behind father.
"It's a good thing he has an army!" Douxie shouts as Jim, Claire and the knights ride out of the forest.
Then Gunmar's army attacks.
