I awoke in a dark room. The room was so dark, I couldn't even see a few feet in front of myself. My limbs were free from cuffs, and I could stretch as far as my body would allow. I felt so free, yet also so confined.
There was a piano being played. It sounded like it was coming from above me. I recognized the tune.
Cannon In D.
I figured it was Lance playing. It didn't sound like it was coming from a radio.
I waited in still silence for the piece to stop. Once it did, the bench glided from the piano, then back, footsteps following the sound. I knew it was Lance, then. Lance always walked with a certain, almost calculated pace.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5...
He walked from above me, to the stairs, and down to the first floor. He turned and it seemed as though he was approaching me.
-"Expect a very, generous reward."-
A pitch black room is one hell of a reward, but I'll take it. It's a lot better than a damp, humid basement, chained to an uncomfortable bed.
He opened a door just outside my room, closed it, and traveled to the edge of my room. He opened the door, finally letting in some moonlight.
Looking around, I slowly sat up. I widened my eyes and pressed my brows together as I realized I was in a closet the whole time.
This... This is what I get!? This is my "reward"!!? After everything I've endured.. and for so long!!!
I softened my expression and looked up at Lance, asking without words if this was really going to be my room.
He answered my question with his signature smirk, turning into a smile. "Come here." he said, backing out of the doorway a step.

I came to my feet and walked over to him.
Lance turned his head and drew in a breath, "I can't let you have this room not only because it is a guest room, but also because of the glass wall, here." He turned back to face me, "I mustn't let my precious Sai get hurt." he said with a smile, eyeing my lips.
Lances smile dropped and a dreadful feeling overpowered the relief I had felt just a moment ago.
"Sai, I don't like that you're taller than me."
I stayed still, hoping he'd elaborate.
"...Whenever you're interacting with me, I want you to stay on your hands and knees."
I nodded and looked down at the floor.
"Starting now."
I nodded again and slowly dropped to my knees, not making eye contact with him. Then, I put my hands on the floor, just as he ordered me to. Before, I had at least a foot on Lance, now, I was barely half his size.
"Good boy~." he praised, "You vampires sure do get tall. It feels like the weight of the world has been lifted from my shoulders!"
There was a moment of silence between us before he squatted down in front of me. Again, he stroked my cheek. I could feel a smile on his face through his calm hand.
"Hey, hey~." he tried to console, "Tonight is a big night. I want you to be at your best. Let's clean you up. I've got a surprise for you." he said, standing up.
He looked down at me for a split second, then walked off to his right, wanting me to follow him.
