《New Admission: An Original BPS Fanfiction》Chapter 11: One Small Step for a Student...

Caramel sat nervously aside her soon-to-be cos. They were going to travel to the BPS company off in Mattuoplois City. She and the other students picked would be heading off to their pre-internship orientation, just to understand the field a little more. However, Caramel was so anxious, she wasn't sure what to expect. What if there was another test, just like the entrance exam? What if she failed and they sent her back? She did NOT want to think of what Connie would do once she had her in her vicinity again.
"Hey, are you okay?" asked a deep-yet-kind voice. Caramel looked behind her and saw a boy with wavy brown hair and sea blue eyes, which were fixed on her. "Your hand looks like it's shaking..."
"Er..." Caramel hesitated, not used to people calling her out for being nervous or scared. "I...I'm just overthinking about the internship. No biggie."
"That's nothing to be ashamed of," the boy comforted her. "It's a very nerve-wracking thing, to be up in front with the big dogs. One wrong move and your dreams could come crashing-!" He stopped short when he saw the terrified look on Caramel's face. Moving cautiously, he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, it'll be alright. We're the geniuses of the academy, remember? What could go wrong?"
"You seem to forget that once someone says that, EVERYTHING goes wrong," Caramel said, now feeling more panicked than before. Though she new the boy had no ill intention, his pep talk needed work, that was for sure. Still, it would be rude to turn her back on him without introducing herself. "...I'm Caramel."
"I know you! You're the first freshman girl in years to make it to the internship!" the boy said, eyes shining. "I'm Noah Atlantis. I'm a junior, but it took me 2 YEARS before I could make the cut for the internship. I was an emerald patron before, so I guess they had pity on me ^^;. What about you?"

"Um...no association. I kinda lived out in the boonies, so posting fanimations was the best I could do to get some attention..."
"Really? Can I see?"
"Um..sure!"
So, for the whole ride there, Caramel and her new friend Noah rewatched her animations over the years, producing a far better result on her mood than his last attempt.
However, about halfway through, the transport hit a rough bump, causing her to drop her phone. "Eep!"
"Oops! Don't worry, I got it!" Noah offered, starting to stand.
"No, it's alright, it's my phone. I got it, " Caramel assured, already kneeling to the floor to pick it up. However, as she scrabbled the floor to find it, her fingers met another's. Confused, she lifted her face, only to find herself face-to-face with another boy, whom had blue hair and green eyes. They locked eyes for a split-second, and suddenly, the transport went over another bump, causing the boy to stumble forwards. Before Caramel could get out of the way, their noses collided painfully. "AGH!"
Caramel fells backwards, her hand over her face. It didn't help out the blue-haired boy's balance any, as he went toppling over her. Caramel's hands covered her mouth and nose to soothe the throbbing pain, and it was a good thing too, as the boy fell over once more, this time directly on top of her, due to gravity.
The surrounding students clambered around the pair. "Caramel, are you okay?!" Noah exclaimed, helping her out from under the boy. Caramel was too dazed to answer back. "Quick, how many fingers am I holding up?" he asked her, a hand in front of her face.
"We don't have fingers, Noah..." she said weakly.
"Okay, good, you're fine," he breathed, helping her up onto her seat. "That's a relief."

"What happened to the other guy?"
"Oh, IDK. Lex ran in and got him out of there. He was in my facial rigs class."
Caramel hadn't heard much. She was still very flustered over the whole experience. Still, deep down where her external feelings couldn't reach, she hoped that the young boy was alright.
"Oh, look!" Noah said, pointing to a tall building in the distance. "We're here!"
Caramel arched her neck to see the building in question, and was greeted by a tall tower of black, white, and blue blocks. The BPS symbol sat at the very top, and the whole tower was seated at the center of a very busy city.
Her tumble from earlier was forgotten as the little dreamer stared longingly at the beautiful below, longing to fall right through the glass of the window and fly over the city, right to BPS, where she could meet her lifelong idols.
Most of the students in the transport followed suit, and they had their faces pressed to the glass, looking interested and eager to get down to the city.
Just then, as the students were gathering their things together, readying for arrival, someone passed Noah and Caramel's seat. It was a girl with blueish-black hair and fiercely gray eyes. She stepped right up to Caramel, looking quite disdain.
"Oh, look. If it isn't the ever-so-famous FRESHMAN, Caramel Charlatte, the history-maker of the hour," she sniffed. "Don't let it get to your head, Humancorn. You just got lucky."
With her nose in the air and a heel turn, the girl walked off, leaving Caramel more curious than insulted. "What was that all about?"
"That's just Penelope," Noah said with an annoyed look. "She's just bitter because you got in on the first try. She was a senior at BPA. Funny, you'd think she'd be less crabby now that she got what she wanted."
"Still nicer than Connie ever was," Caramel privately thought, remembering her experience with the car-skiing incident.
At that moment, the transport came to a stop. Caramel took a deep breath, cast a side glance at Noah, then strutted out the open doors, ready to face her future as an intern.

Here, a man is brought to a foreign world as his new character in the VRMRPG, Underworld of Armok, at Level 1. In safety there are few benefits, only by taking risks far beyond his level could one proceed. Transported to another world, he wishes to do good and be a hero. Accumulating power to help the less fortunate. There's just one caveat; he's a Necromancer, and his greatest source of strength will probably get him lynched.Quick DescriptionAnother video game/isekai novel. Unfortunately, the MC has crossed over during character creation of a Necromancer and is Level 1. He also lacks the ever so helpful status window.Fair warning, the Friendly Villager Necromancer arc(1) is slow. He does not want to run out into the dangerous world to get killed right after arriving. Sucks to be Level 1, eh? Git gud scrub. It's basically a Slice of Life from his perspective. The Thread, in case you get a bit confused about people/places. [16+] Now probably! For strong language and violence! And anthropophagy and lewd intimations! And stupid jokes and obscure references! And philosophical ditherings and a slow pace! Make peace with the absurd, and come to terms with the terrible!

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author.
