《The Celestial Kingdom》The Hall of Mémoires

"Lost?" Ardent asked the small she-elf.

Interest peeked inside him as Àskériàn watched them carry their conversation. He wanted to be a part of it, even though he knew none of this was real, well presently real.

"That's right." Rain replied to her new companion. "Where are you from?" She asked the mysterious angel standing before her, curiosity brimmed beneath her blue eyes.

Ardent looked towards the distance. "I used to belong somewhere." She explained, "However, I cannot go back. I cannot stay in this world for much longer, my mind has already begun to alter." She kept her gaze low to the grassy floor. The wind shifted, taking with it more of her feathers.

"You broke the law of identity?" The birb asked. There was much wisdom in Rain's voice. Ardent stared at the girl and then nodded. Àskériàn was just as surprised.

"Well then, that portal up there," she said looking up, "That is home?"

"Yes, but I can't get up there." Ardent replied with a sorrowful look.

"Then leave it to me..

"I'm sorry, what?" Ardent questioned the girl, shifting her gaze from the fluorescent circle in sky, its light was dimmer in the daylight, to her new friend.

Instead of the girl with the pointed ears, there stood a magnificent large blue phoenix. It's feathers changed color as the light danced through the trees.

Ardent gasped in astonishment.

The large birb motioned for the girl to mount it's back. Reluctantly, Ardent headed the birb's call. "Uh... thank you."

Àskériàn watched as they soared over the forest roof and into the sky. They disappeared through the golden portal, then the world around him shifted once more and he found himself standing in the main hall of Palace Celeste.

The girl, Rain, had turned to her elven form once again. Lady Ardent was showing her around. He recognized the hall, above them sat the library and the catwalk.

Along either side, pictures of people from her village lined the walls. Rain stopped in front of a picture, it was the one that had caught his attention. "This is you." Rain stated, "but, who is the man?".

Ardent smiled. "Alexander. My husband." Rain's eyes widened.

"I know its unusual for an angel to marry, but back on Gaia, no one knew what I was. Not until..." She adverted her gaze.

"Until?" Rain prompted.

"Don't worry about it." Ardent said, placing her hand on Rain's head. "Anyway, this place will get lonely, you can go back if you want."

"What about you?" Rain protested.

Ardent smiled again. "I can't go back. The atmosphere is toxic to me, I don't even remember how to get to our village. My mind was altered. This is my home now."

"M'Lady," Rain began. "Would you object to bringing more people here?" She asked curiosity in her voice.

Ardent gave her a confused look. "This world was made as a refuge from Etah. So as long as they want to be here then that wouldn't be an issue. However, in the end," she placed a hand over her husband's face on the painting and touched it with her fingertips. "Even he didn't want to stay."
