《Guardians : Awakening of Athene》Chapter 18: First Floor of The Maze

The gloomy sky conquered the atmosphere as the cold wind breezed through the air.
Alice's vision cleared out, reappearing into reality. While Kiva and the guardian stared at her.
Are you alright? The team worried especially Eric, Sarah and Hana.
Alice stood up as if her injury was healed, she felt refreshed as scan the environment.
Where is this? Alice questioned.
"The Maze of the Unspoken Ogre" A cold voice reaches her ears. Kiva appeared in front of Alice, placing his hands on her face, checking for injuries.
Alice slaps his hand as her faces become red.
Are you guys ready over there? A young playful voice shouted as he came over.
With a simple white v-neck, blue jeans and a sneaker. The young male grins as he approaches Kiva, dragging him away.
The team followed and eventually 11 members forming a team, deciding to enter the first floor.
The massive stone-made doors opened itself as if it was inviting them inside. White mist could be seen and the sounds of ogres roared through the sky.
They wandered into the mist as the doors disappear behind them.
"Looks like a one-way ticket" King relaxes his muscles as he stretches his arms.
"Sector seven with me, and the rest decide by yourselves." Kiva walks farther into the white mist as the group rushes to keep up.
Spitting into two teams, Kiva went right and King went left.
After walking a while, Alice was told that they burned the goblin cave along with the dead girls. Those who survived aren't very stable. So Kiva transferred them back with Zhang and the rabbit as well. Apparently, Kiva has the abilities to use void magic, making portals connecting to places. Such overpowered power made Alice jealous, only wondering if Athena has it too.
The mist became larger and deeper, almost impossible to vision out the paths. The gang started to wander off, one by another as if they were taken by the fog. Their voices not reaching out as if it was silenced by the maze. Alice finds herself alone, once more, searching for her comrades. Surrounded by the empty mist, her golden eyes shine with bright colour, enabling herself to vision out numbers of data to her mind.

The first source of data she sighted was another ogre. She rose her hands as the ogre growls and charges forward. Calling out her magic, only to realize, there wasn't any magical molecule in the air. Without her spear, she decided to ran as the ogre continues to chase her.
Kiva leaps through the maze with his physical abilities, he triggers his mana-pistol directing it on to the neck of each monster. Passing through the mist with ease, as if he was here to play.
Eric defends himself with his binary steel blade as he beheads the hobgoblins standing in his path.
While Sarah and Hana lost and wanders into the other two girls in King's team.
Blood dripped from his mouth as he lifts himself up. His body bleeding as if it was damaged by blades. He wiped the blood off his mouth as he charges forward against the Ogre. The 3-meter green beast holding two huge long katana as a dual blade cuts through the air. King jumps into the air, barely dodging the two fatal blades, landing on the grass. He launches forward with his fist.
- Assault: Single Strike - King spoke as his body immersed in red mana.
His body launched itself in rapid speed, King's fist comes in contact with the iron plate amour. The ogre steps back due to the impact. He growls at King with his terrifying voice, as he swings his right large blade.
King rolls on the ground, as the blade only manages to slice a little bit of his golden spiky hair. King stood up immediately and rushes to ogres back. Being only 180-cm, he stares his head up towards the ogre. He leaps back two feet, positioning himself as if he was performing a kick.
- Assault: Decimate - King steps forward, leaping into the air. Spinning his body as he performs a right axe-kick on to the helmet equipped onto the head. The helmet breaks apart with another kick with his left as King lands on the grass, stepping back avoiding the ogre's attacks.

The ogre's bloody red eyes glowed as his jaws opened wide. "Human. Die." He roared with his deep dark short voice. His leap forward against King, swinging his swords as if they were weightless. His speed increased with every attack causing a ridiculous amount of pressure with the wind. King dodging and leaping between the blades, looking for another opportunity to strike.
King retreated back, seeing the opportunity of melee combat is low. The ogre continues charging forward with his enormous weapons. Coming closer to King, unable to dodge anymore. He rose his hand into the sky. Gathering mana as he chants his spell.
A spellcaster's circle appears on the ground, deflecting and repelling the attack. Forcing the ogre to step back, creating an unbalanced on his body. The clouds formed together, the sound of lightning strikes as a typhoon of fierce wind breeze through his golden hair. Thunder clashed onto his hand as if he could have grasped it. With sparks of lightning immersing his entire body, King directed his hand toward the green beast.
- Lightning Detonation: Kirin Pursuit - He grinned.
Blue sparks fly into the air constructing a majestic beast in the form of a horse. The same size of the green ogre, with two large agarwood attached to his sharp ears and a large horn conducting blue lightning on his head. He stands on all fours, as his white royalty fur breezes with the storm.
Thunder clashes as the majestic beast roar into the sky. He charges forward into the green ogre. The two large blades swing at the majestic beast but only passing through his body as if his blades conducted plasma. The green ogre's body immersed in blue sparks as the Kirin dissolves into blue sparks exploding into a field of lightning.
Thunder clashed once more, striking down directing on the fallen green ogre. The green beast fell on his knees. With his amour destroy, his body burnt, he held his blade, supporting himself from falling completing. With this last strength, he growls at King with his deadly but weak voice. Losing conscious as he completely feels defeat.
King relaxes as he sighs with his breathing. "That didn't kill him". King walks over checking the naked green beast. Flipping the body over and placing his hand onto the mana core.
"This does not look good. This maze, there is something more to it than the surface." King stares at the entrance behind the ogre. The doors opened as he absorbs the mana core from the ogre.
Walking into the second level of the maze.

Orc Lord
A young woman just starting out in life is killed tragically in a car accident. However, she soon regains consciousness as a baby in a fantasy world. But... she's an Orc?! It would be good if she could just enjoy her new life quietly, but she seems destined for war and carnage. How will she fare as a monster in a fantasy world? ________________ This story will have a total of three arcs: Arc 1, The Birth of Babylon: 571 pages (complete) Arc 2, The Baphomet War: 420 pages (complete) Arc 3, The Mad Queen of Carnage: (in progress) ________________ Ultimately, I'm writing this for enjoyment. If you enjoy it too, fantastic! Gore: Extremely infrequent, but moderately intense. Profanity: There are a few swear words here and there, as well as some more creative insults. Traumatizing Content: While I'm at it, there are some questionable morals displayed (mostly after chapter 77). So far we can check off slavery, brainwashing, war, and genocide. This story starts off very Light Novel-ish because I was reading a lot of them at the time. The writing style gradually matures as it goes. Sorry, but I don't have the stamina to go back and fix everything, even if I know it gets pretty roughshod at times. New readers, please keep in mind, I make use of "unreliable narrators" at times. My story accepts donations, but it is free to read and I've only uploaded it here. Lastly, Orc Lord is a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying ending. One of my long breaks triggered a dishonor, but I'll redeem it someday when it's actually finished. I'm the ultimate necromancer author. ;P
